62  Bitcoin / Hardware / Electrical Question Please on: August 07, 2017, 08:58:46 PM
Hey Gents,
Appreciate the patience as I go through this.
This could also be a noob question so please bear with me.
I have access to an Industrial Site with a 600 AMP Single Phase Power in the US with very favourable power costs.
I am trying to figure out how many 1KWh Miners I can put on this service without killing/burning anyone.
I will need 10 KWh for support equipment such as switches, routers, monitors etc.
Thanks once again, I have tried to look for answers online but getting a little confused with line voltage etc.
Thanks

I agree they should make a conscious effort to keep the miners happy.
Especially after they have kind of screwed the people.
Same goes to Baikal, honestly i hope they die.
Anything more that 2K for 22g is a waste IMO

Thanks guys for the pointers.
Yes I know I can make 1-2K more per miner in my first batch, but the more point I was trying to make is. Shouldnt Bitmain be more honest about their selling price etc. Cost +X% or whatever. Yes I know Apple has ridiculous margins with iPhones but atleast the price does not change weekly.
Anyways lets see how it goes. One thing is true Baikal, iBelink are dead if Bitmain keeps going at this rate. Bitcoin Miners their is nothing new coming, Cannan is almost quiet selling non profitable 741s.
Ah well hope the mining gods show us some mercy!
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WTF just happened! Bitmain D3 on: August 03, 2017, 01:08:38 PM
Hey All,
Just a quick question. I bought about 10 D3 in the last/first batch at 2699 USD each and just bought some at 1599.
I am quite surprised to see why Bitmain would discount the miners by over 40% all of sudden. Am I missing something here? Needless to say a part of me is dying inside slowly, saying I should have waited. Is this a common thing bitmain does? I know Baikal did a similar thing but that was more from a competition and spec perspective but why bitmain. Clearly I am in shock
Thanks for the replies in advance

Your batch 1 units will cover the spread by being able to mine early.  This was done with the L3s too.  Better to have batch 1 at $1000 more each you should be able to make that back with a 4 week jump on the october batch.

Thank for your reply sir, I get it. Note to self. Next time wait till 3rd batch atleast before buying a new product line for Bitmain.

I'm going to gloat over the death of Baikal. They suck so much. They cannot increase their mining speed 10x, they do not have the tech.

I agree with you mate! Duck them...
They want to play in their elite club, go for it. Let bitmain kill them!
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: August 03, 2017, 10:06:18 AM
Nicehash is a bit confusing and really the earning predictions don't make sense, for example just checked the earning potential now for 1 machine (L3+) and get the following results:

1 Day = 0.01098427 BTC = £22.56
1 Week = 0.09807394 BTC = £201.46
1 Month = 0.60026800 BTC = £1233.05

How does that make sense? assuming the 1 Day earnings are correct then calculations should be:

1 Day = 0.01098427 BTC = £22.56
1 Week = 0.07688989 BTC = £157.92
1 Month = 0.333189523 BTC = £684.32

(BTC value:  1 BTC = £2054.16)

Can anyone actually confirm earnings through Nicehash?

Just want to add my 10 cents here without the wider Nicehash lovers trying to crucify me.

Now to the point, Nicehash is great but dont just put some numbers in the calculator and get excited. There is a lot more to it and the returns are significantly lower. This is for me and I am working with them to sort/optimize this. Rule of thumb whatever your hash power is reduce this by 10% to manage your return expectations. They seem to have 5-8% high reject rate for me as compared to other pools. Again like I said we are working on optimizing this, its not an accusation just my personal experience. Then please dont add numbers here and get super excited https://new.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator this is a mere depiction for past 30 days and generally IMO 8-14% off.

Infact to get a more accurate picture have a look here https://new.nicehash.com/algorithm and reduce by 1-3%, this is much more inline with what you can expect moving forward. I have my own formula which I use to plan my expected payments for the next 30 days and has been +-5% inline with actual payouts and works for me. Please note it may not for you, use it on your own risk.

Basically reduce the payout by 0.032% every day. I am currently working on an a macro so it go into more detail by directly factoring in difficulty increase and historical (payout, demand and availability) correlation.  Happy to share when ready so everyone can use for their own benefit and comment on it.

Anyways hope this helps you, happy mining!

3X buy only with Escrow and Full Details of the hosting company. Will need to make sure with hosting company that the hosting account will be in my name and once the miners are received they belong to me.

hi Odetas
Just want to add my 10 cents here without the wider Nicehash lovers trying to crucify me.

Background - I am a Crypto investor for the last 3 years (only invested little dollars, I wish I had invested more) who found sudden love for mining. Yes i know its a little ass backwards. 2 months ago dumped close to 40K in mining equipment mix of BTC, LTC, ETH and X11 mostly from our lovely friends at Bitmain, Avalon, and Ibelink. So had to do some rapid learning on this to make sure I am maximizing my revenue. Currently generating some baby bucks on Antpool, Nicehash, Prohashing and Multipool. Talking to Mr. Kano to potentially move to his pool, he is a great guy with a positive attitude.

Now to the point, Nicehash is great but dont just put some numbers in the calculator and get excited. There is a lot more to it and the returns are significantly lower. 75  Bitcoin / Pools / Help in pools! on: July 31, 2017, 11:45:21 PM
Hey Guys,

Yes Im a noob! so would appreciate some guidance. Sorry I am sure this has been asked a billion times here.

So currently I have 10 S9s with an effective hashrate on paper of 135Th/s. My general rule of thumb is to discount this by 10%.

So lets say 120Th/s is what I have. I have tried two pools so far.

Antpool for last 14 days, this gives me an effective average of return of $0.9 USD per Th/s/day so been ranging between 109USD - 131 USD Per Day.

Newhash as per their calculator I should be expecting around 100 bucks but in reality its no more than 88 USD per day.

i would appreciate some pointers to other pools etc I can/should try to make a little more cash.

Thanks

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Group Buy - Innosillicon A5 Dashminer on: July 26, 2017, 09:01:44 PM
I lost track..

when were these units supposed to ship?

I realize deadlines can slip

but curious

thanks

Well  I saw a screen shot above that says shipping from factory on Oct 2017  and in my opinion with a 10,000 usd at stake, you will miss a lot of opportunity to gain with that amount.
Ill wait for a price drop
10k istoo much

I have no plans to get more, than this 2nd batch bitmain d3. It looks to me all this 15 to 30x
the X11 hash will slap down around October 1st. Damn!

Some people think it's the 1st batch that went unpaid. Makes sense since the shipping date is only a week or two after the first batch. I'd expect a month between batches no?

The ways of bitmain are mysterious to me (evil they are...tm bitmain) ..so you could be right..or they could just be 'toying' with us and dribbling this stuff out at odd times

(5am in USA) just to drive everyone mad. (it is what they do....tm bitmain) (evil never rests.....er again tm bitmain) etc etc evil empire (yawn)

Evil haha i like it, would agree to some extent. Having said that Inno is too expensive. Not sure what was going through their heads while pricing this up. almost 40% more expensive.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Group Buy - Innosillicon A5 Dashminer on: July 25, 2017, 02:46:28 AM
Yes you are right, there difference between usd and BTC is over 6%
Innosillicon I have major trust issues with you now
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL GROUPBUY 6 - Giant Plus - 2000MHS - $4000 open on: July 24, 2017, 09:37:57 PM
Its good to know that finally Baikal reduced the price from unrealistic $7000 to $4000 but we miners can convince Baikal that we will buy only if you reduce price to $1500 to $2000 or maximum $2500 because this will mean ROI period of 2 months theoretically and practically it could be 2 to 4 months depending on other manufacturers shipping out their products.

If Baikal agree we can use any trusted member of forum to initiate group buy or everyone can purchase from Baikal directly

Its time that ASIC companies start realizing that miners will only accept pricing which means 1(ideally) to 2 months(maximum) ROI period (and yes that ROI period is based on its capability of algorithms other than X11 and if you plan to do X11 only i don't recommend buying it even for this price)

No matter you are big farm owner or small home miner. Lets get united, because Miners united can make a difference.

Minersunited i like what you are saying their we need to work together. You know from a long term perspective if 2K doesn't make sense. If we they come down to 2K verified, i might buy a couple
80  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: iBeLink DM11G on: July 24, 2017, 09:35:40 PM
Cant even justify buying this now pricewise...

Bitmain is taking everyone out to the "outhouse" and shooting them...

Agreed, not sure if its a good thing or bad.. I guess time will tell. I sometimes feel im attached to bitmain like ball and chain...
