2  Local / Off-Topic (Deutsch) / Re: Wann ist dezentral dezentral? on: July 01, 2018, 11:29:41 AM

Typische Single Points of Failure:
- eine eingetragene Marke (z.B. Ethereum)
- regelmäßige "geplante" Hardforks (z.B. Monero)

how is the status of the multispv wallet? i think direct atomic swaps will be too expensive if you want botting and daytrading...
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]★CryptoBridge★BCO★🔹Decentralized EXchange 📈RELEASED NOW BETA🔹 on: February 14, 2018, 08:39:48 PM
This is one of the concepts im struggling with as well, I have been playing around with this exchange for a couple months now off and on and I still can't really say that i understand it.

So if the gateways hold your coins do they have access to those private keys? Also confusing is the difference between local wallet and cloud wallet....there are like 4 different kind of keys in your account...almost like steem...i dont even know which ones i need to backup.

I will say that the staking and bonuses they are offering are pretty juicy right now, staking BCO is very profitable i think

as i understand this, your coins are frozen in smart contracts and nobody can steal them. but if a governance or anything else would shut down the bridge your funds would be lost. idk about 4 keys sorry i was just using my old bitshares key in the unix application

Wouldn't decentralized model make the exchange really slow for it's users?

There is some lag as all your actions have to enter the Blockchain, it feels like an exchange that's running under heavy load, but we are talking a few seconds delay at most. It's a small price to pay for being in control of your funds & not having to deal with withdrawal limits or giving up your personal information.

this is wrong. your funds are stored in centralized gateways and not in your hand. decentralized gateways are on the roadmap, but the team stopped completing their roadmap month ago. pls beware to see this exchange as a safe wallet

Now it is difficult to analyze the future of the project. against the background of a general fall

Yes, the current state of affairs in the market makes investors very cautious. There is a possibility of a further decline. Now there are a lot of contradictory forecasts. I hope everything clears up soon.

i think i missed anything.. what happened?

empty promisses and delay after delay. even doge and verge are better.

Your account looks like an alt of "bitcoiner909"  You've made 12 posts so far and 11 are to shit on the Stratis project.  You need to try harder next time.  Don't get banned like your other account.

hahaha pwned  Grin may he bought on an ath or something xD

are there plans or discussions to reduce the staking fee? i think 5% is to high, cryptocoins and inflation arent big friends...

hey guys,

before putting in funds, I would like to know who is in control of the few nodes showing up in the DEX node access list

what if the nodes are inaccessible or being shut down by authorities? how decentralized is cryptobride when governmental states or bad actors like to shut down crypto-trading? isnt having only three centralized nodes really the weakest part in this technology?

what other flaws we are faced to? I would really like to use DEXs over centralized exchanges, but a few questions still concerning me from putting in my savings.

sincerly

Im curious about how this works & if anyone can bring such a node online to support the exchange. I would assume new nodes can & would be brought online ASAP if some are taken down & it would take a global government ban on cryptocurrency for this to truly become an issue. Highly unlikely scenario as many governments can barely function on a national level. There will IMHO always be a crypto haven somewhere on earth, maybe we'll all have to move there one day Wink

the nodes arent the problem but the gateways are centralized payment channels. i would say to call this exchange "dezentralized" is a lie.

i dont understand exactly how bridge works. its hosted on the bts blockchain, so all actions costs bts ? how are they paid? via smart contracts?

and can anybody pls explain this:

Quote
In Cryptobridge, a federated distributed network of gateways, operating worldwide...
makes sure there is no single point of failure whatsoever

what are the gateways doing? they are decentralized?

thanks!
