You are invested in btct and nothing else, if the site goes away tomorrow -- they have all the direct shares and you have nothing, because buying pass thru shares is not investing in AM. Regardless of the price on btct it has zero consequence to the company.
With humility I beg to differ, security owners continue to get updated lists of share holders, so if btct goes down for whatever reason there are still accounts of who owns what. I have a lot of faith in the system Burnside set up, this may or may not prove to be misplaced, but the track record gives me a lot of confidence.

I hope those of you rushing to buy new shares are prepared to lose that money. The whales are awake now and are going to be looking for exits. There are no fundamentals and this is not a growth stock. I don't know how to explain it any better. It's really, really simple and I don't get off on longs getting burned, especially by whales.
I'm under the impression that AM will deliver steady dividends for a long time to come, and it's hard to beat 20-30% pa divs. The fact that the value is kept in a deflationary currency like bitcoin is the cherry on the cake for me. Whales will have a hard time finding a BTC investment vehicle, _that can handle huge input volume_, that will give them the long term returns that AM can. Even with the cheapest PMB, DMS.MINING, you'll be lucky if you properly make back your principle. Whales have money to throw around, they have an appetite for risk, because that's where the big gains are. I don't see whales selling AM because it is risky, but I'm interested to know what they'll do with their exited funds that'll give them better returns.

Prediction: ASICMINER-PT will hit 4 BTC again within a month, i.e. from 21 August 2013 to 20 September 2013.

Burnside, would you please consider adding an email alert option for each btct.co and litecoinglobal login attempt/success?
BTC-e has this alert option, and I think it is really helpful to see if someone is trying to crack an account or verify a stolen password.
I do have 2FA, but the login email alert would give some much welcomed added comfort. I'd really appreciate your consideration!

That clarifies everything, thx.
So you really have to work for that 0.05% discount!

Are the buy/sell fees 0.2% with 2FA, because my 2FA is turned on and my fees are 0.25% according to the My Trades page?

It is so ironic, that the very regulations meant to protect users, have now exacerbated the situation of MtGox to the degree where users are now bound to be screwed over.
I do hope the effect on the USD/BTC is minimal or temporary, which is possible since MtGox now effectively discourages the sell off of BTC! I'm holding on to my nickers, don't ya'll panick now, things will be all right in the end.

Why has there been such a big disconnect between ASICMINER-PT (now bid 4.327) and TAT.ASICMINER (now bid 0.04198) prices of late?
I'd arbitrage AM-PT -> TAT.AM, but I'm all out of AM-PT!

Well right now, at a weekly AM dividend of 0.02BTC/share, we have an equivalent hashing power of roughly 150MH/s, for 4.2BTC.
To compare AM value against BM value, based purely on hashing power:
BM: 0.084 BTC per MH/s (9.3MH/s for 0.78BTC) AM: 0.028 BTC per MH/s (150MH/s for 4.2BTC)
Thus BM is 3x more expensive than AM, and AM has so much more to it than just hashing power.
BM is all about hashing power, yet with 12% dividends per annum, which may be maintained with luck, and a 3x higher than "market rate" value, I don't see how I would ever be comfortable with such a small profit/risk ratio.
And I don't see how I would ever be comfortable buying BM at 0.8 BTC per share, geez Louise...
But in all this I keep being the fool, by my own estimates, because this headstrong ego keeps wanting to be right instead of wanting to make money...

With this new addition bASIC-MINING has increased it's hashing power to approximately 465,000 Mh/s or 9.3Mh/s per share.
Wow, 9.3Mh/s per share... for 0.78 BTC... Or, say, a BlockErupter at 330Mh/s... for 1.2 BTC... I don't know guys, which one should I buy? I'm so conflicted... ... NOT.

Wow share price is out if control. In 2 weeks I say we will be over 1.0 btc
I am a casual investor in BTC/LTC securities, and I managed to double my initial investment primarily through ASICMINER, but I've never owned BASIC-MINING shares. I observed the rise of BM from 0.6 to 2 BTC, before the 10x split, and now this recent rise. And the whole time I'm like "WTF? I don't understand this, compared to ASICMINER the dividends are negligible." I clearly don't understand enough, because I keep being wrong with my price estimates for BM. If dividends do not motivate investors, then it must be the potential future growth of the company, which with BM is tied to the miners they own and acquire. Still BM does not have production capabilities like AM (not that I am aware of atm), and their assets (miners) are depreciating in value. I am looking for the pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow for BM, but I cannot see it. I cannot see why investors have such a strong valuation of the future of BM. And you know what, I'm going to kick and scream all the way in dazed, incredulous disbelief, but I think you may be right about the 1 BTC value in the near future. I am looking for an objective response to satisfy my curiousity, any help is appreciated.

Shares rapidly becoming more valuable, glad I bought a dozen at 1.25. This is going to be a good investment.

Bought my first bitcoins and AM-PT stocks today. I'm also going to invest LTC in LTC-GLOBAL, I'm expecting a 4x USD/LTC increase in the coming months.

Makes one wonder if it will ever be possible to pay a $5 coffee with bitcoin, if it takes hours to get confirmed.
Unless one pays a hefty % premium for transaction fees to speed it through.
