421  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia has developed covid-19 vaccine. on: August 17, 2020, 03:37:01 PM
The problem is  not to develop vaccine but to develop such one that would  not harm the body.  It  took almost 5 years to develop vaccine against Ebola. I don't think  Russia has manage to develop the good  stuff against COVID on such a reduced timeline.

The problem with testing these health damaging products is that we, the taxpayer, have to pay for the cripples it creates for the rest of their lives - which will be shorter than normal.

but who knows what is normal? Thanks to children immunized against smallpox the humankind  has a long and successful health record relevant to that illness in the past and current centuries. Are you sure you would exist without that?
422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VR online casino games take gambling to the new level 🚀 on: August 17, 2020, 03:26:04 PM
I think this is not for everyone. Once I have tried that  VR hardware set and after an hour or so got a terrible headache. Thought it was just an accidental and tried again in a week  but got the same result. Probably VR is nor suited  my brain. But the basic idea is not bad. If they added the support of tactile controllers especially for the hands of the  slot machines I would be happy.
423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Comparative table on fees among some coins. Pick up one for your need. on: August 15, 2020, 05:23:33 AM
A quick heads up to the newbies: a "cryptocurrency" having lower fees definitely doesn't automatically mean it's better. These other coins have lower fees because:

  • they're more centralized
  • they're less secure
  • not much people use them(probably besides ETH)

You're still mostly better off using Bitcoin(BTC) in the end. You just don't need to pay for $1+ high fees(most of the time 10 sats/b which costs a few cents will suffice) unless you're in a rush to get the transaction confirmed.

"But what if I convert my BTC to altcoins for faster transfers?" This could work if your funds are on exchanges in the first place(which is definitely not recommended), though also take into consideration the exchange fees, because you might end up paying more on conversion fees than just straight-off paying a decent bitcoin transaction fee.

Apparently OP didn't mean they have anything better unless you move them from one account to other. When I need to transfer my funds between my accounts on different exchanges me often uses XLM as a mediator because Stellar net is known to be fast and  low fee.

There is no way to support GOLD token because in is a stablecoin and should follow the price of gold.

Well, by saying this you’re implying that  GOLD token is backed  by physical gold and you have enough of this stuff to cover any movement on the market, isn't it? Yet positive proof has to be given. Where that (IMO,mystic)  gold is hidden?

426  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia plan to use untested vaccine against the coronavirus on: August 12, 2020, 09:21:40 AM
It's training  your immune cells to recognize viruses and kill them.

So why not wait until you are infected with the real virus, and not some synthetic variant. That will give you better protection, and avoid the side effects.

Because real virus has a potency to kill you. The power of  good vaccine is not sufficient for that. The problem is to develop such vaccine that would train body against specific virus and at the same time wouldn’t  threaten  body itself.
427  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia plan to use untested vaccine against the coronavirus on: August 12, 2020, 08:59:31 AM
I don't understand why people vaccinate themselves when they are infected.

Being infected no one vaccinate himself. Doctors refuse to do that knowing that you are ill. Vaccination works only for those whose bodies are not infected. It's training  your immune cells to recognize viruses and kill them.

Latest odds

Manchester City @ 21/10
Bayern Munich @ 3/1
PSG @ 5/1
Barcelona @ 8/1
Atlético Madrid @ 17/2
Atalanta @ 12/1
RB Leipzig @ 16/1
Lyon @ 40/1

(Source - Paddy Power)

I fancy Atalanta as outsiders, but I think Bayern will win it  Smiley

Don’t think I’ll get a prize as I’m too many points adrift , but never give up  Smiley
I would go the other way mate, I think FC Barcelona of Spain will win this, the would be able to edge out Bayern Munich on Friday and I don't think there would be a first time champion -atalanta, Manchester city, PSG or Lyon-

Going to today's match
PSG vs Atalanta I predict a full time draw and PSG to qualify.

Well, yesterday I bet second time on PSG (odd 1.87), my first bet was on a full time draw ,  odd 2.93 Let's see what will  happen, draw is preferable though Atalanta will fight until the last minute in this case.
429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to avoid high transaction fee on: August 11, 2020, 09:42:50 AM
My first thought too. But if  take this matter seriously one can consider, where possible, the alternative coin. For example recently  I had two options when paying for service and selected to pay with LTC because BTC fee was too high at that moment.

Completely depends tho. That can be a good solution if you already have LTC in the first place. But if you'd have to exchange the BTC for LTC on an exchange, you might want to think twice as you might end up spending more money due to the exchange fees; depending on how much money you're planning on sending.

Definitely everything has to be on the scale. Exchange that I used  that time required $12 to withdraw  BTC whereas only  $1,2 for LTC. Obviously, I have chosen LTC and got a double profit,  first,  the time for  transaction connfirmation was  negligible , second -  it saved me money.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you use a paper wallet to store your CryptoCurrencies? on: August 11, 2020, 08:58:36 AM
But I gave up the idea because Paper Wallets looked too complex for me

Why? It is nothing more than a piece of paper with printed address and private key  to control fund on that address. I know a few wallets that suggest their backups in the form of paper wallets and it looks like not a bad idea at all.

The best way to avoid paying high transaction fees: use low transaction fees lol 🤷‍♂️

Man City vs Real - City should advance but there is a sneaky suspicion Real will pull-off a surprise.

I've got a bet on on Real (odds:4.00), using p2p sports betting bot based on smart-contract inside  Obyte wallet. This is my first use of this bot and should confess  all procedure was straight forward,  Hope both Real and bot  will bring me the luck.

What's this story about snapshot for VWV/XLM airdrop? Isn't this what the price increase today is about? Trying to find some info but no use so far. And just now, I have no option to deposit to Bittrex, "wallet undergoes automatic maintenance". Did they catch the wind of something?

That price tag is killing it for me. ~

Honestly for me too, the price must be twice as low for device from the new company which is only going to enter this market. In that security equation there is another unknown variable i.e. in which way the device would receive the update of firmware  and whether it would be updated at all after release.

439  Economy / Gambling discussion / The best device for online gambling. on: June 04, 2020, 01:11:40 PM
Well,  many of us have already appreciated the benefits of online gambling whether it be casino or even poker. But what device is better suit for it, mobile or  big screen monitor connected to PC?

I'm feeling awfully uncomfortable being connected  via mobile, even the big mobiles of 6.8-inch screen  are not entirely satisfactory. Therefore I largely at my 32-inch & 4K  monitor when gambling online, primary  the slots machines. And what about you?
