Electrum-server used 5832 seconds to process one block! This is a bug. Not a slow processor.
Unfortunately I must agree, the architecture of electrum server is screwed. If we use power of the internet to make electrum possible, we should share resources between electrum servers. But there is no clear solution. Which Key-Value database engine is able work on the WAN scale?

Unfortunately I was stupid enough to try exchange OKCOIN.com - the whole experience was a nightmare.
The beginning was smooth, I have registered an account, verified my phone via SMS, verified my ID and bank. I transferred a few BTC, sold it for the price I wanted.
And now I wanted to withdraw my money. SMS verification magically stopped functioning. I have contacted live support, they told me they must... verify my account. Some Chinese girl with a hyper bad English rang me and asked for my passport number. I have provided all details, she told me an SMS code I need to use. The code did not work. After 20 minutes on the phone she told me she can unblock my SMS, but I must send the passport scan again. I have sent it, the codes started to work again.
I was able to withdraw the money!
Waiting few days, and instead of the expected amount, I have received $36 less. I am contacing live support again and asking where my money has disappered. I'm waiting for a few minutes and geting an answer: bank charges!
I'm going back to their web page, and it was clearly written: withdrawal charges: "0.1% or $15 plus what your bank charges you". I have paid 3.00% and my bank did not charge me any cent. The support says they are sorry, they should change their web page, as it is 0.1% plus all bank charges, in my example it was not expected $15, but... $51.
I proposed to give me back $36, as those charges were not stated on their page. Support refused, claiming it was not their fault. I asked if it was my fault. No, it was nobody's fault. If it was nobody's fault, where is my $36? Bank took it.
Support says sorry and told me they will update the webpage with information about charges. They updated it, indeed, now it says: "USD: Minimum fee of $15, 0.1% plus whatever fees charged by the bank and/or processing party." So now it is clear, now you must pay whatever.
Summary: do not use OKCOIN until you like your money and you are not prepared for paying whatever.

Can you update the install instructions? Right now HOWTO.md references start and stop scripts that don't exist. The TLDR section at the top of INSTALL doesn't result in a running server, nor do the full instruction in that file.
Give Thomas few days, it is completely new version of the server I will install it soon and I might be able to improve the docs.

Third time in 2 or 3 months that the database of my server e2.pdmc.net broke ("wrong_hash"). Is this just me or are other operators experiencing this as well? Anyway, I'll take my server offline for now and bring it back online once I find enough time to move it faster hardware (probably in August).
I have the same, I moved to Samsung 840 SSD but database is still breaking sometimes, without a clear reason. S.

Hi, it seems Thomas escaped with money, did not he?
14 and half days it took Kraken to deal with the issue. Money has been been found on my friends account, finally.
BTC price after those two weeks is 30% lower.
OK, but this "large influx of new users" is not an earthquake or tornado, nor a thunderstorm. It can be stopped in one second by Kraken admins who can temporary stop registering new users until they answer ALL support tickets.
BTW, we have now 14 days from the day when my friend's money has disappeared at Kraken, and support still does not want to resolve the issue. Kraken is crap, steer clear if you do not want problems.
No, they took customers BTCs and disappeared.
Sounds like the issue was related to user error, not mistake on Kraken's part.
What do you mean? No support answer for ten days, now the thing is still not resolved, and it is "customer error"?
You understand it very correctly.
It seems like they do not want to announce it clearly to the customers as in effect there will be no customers.
I am VERY satisfied with Kraken.
...until you must contact the support. In my friend's case: after my help, support contacted her once, but there is no more progress in resolution of the case. Precisely: still no money.

no mate, it does not work well. it might worked well before, but now they completely lost control over the system or it is just a scam.
ignorable. sure, let us wait when your money get stuck for weeks, and we will ignore it then
Yes, my friend had been contacted after 10 days, finally. The problem is related to going slightly over the daily limits, due to time needed for 6 confirmations bitcoin price went up, and money was arrested. Of course during last ten days price went substantially down, but unfortunately a single problem is resulting in huge delays...
I will constantly report the progress, now Kraken acknowledged the problem, and promised to work on it.
No, mate. It is not a hurricane or tsunami, you could easily stop registering new users until you resolve your staffing problems.
You should at least stop registering new users if you are aware of your organisational problems.
I am PMing you support request # right now, and will constantly report the progress here.
The situation is I also had no problems with Kraken before. This is why I have recommended it to my friend.
It seems the problems started recently, about two weeks ago. But I definitely postponed using my account, which fortunately has zero balance and I would recommend leaving Kraken ASAP to anyone who is able to do it.
it is absolutely ridiculous, they know they do not respond for support requests for weeks, and they are still advertising the site?
steer clear of kraken if you like your money!
