Is it theoretically possible to use two 4gb cards and split single DAG job over 2 cards?

743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBPolaris V3.5 - BIOS editor for AMD RX4XX and RX5XX cards on: February 09, 2021, 12:43:44 AM
quick question... has amd/msi released new bios versions for the polaris series that are not recognized by SRBPolaris?
Weirdest thing just happened.

I picked up a few rx 570 8gb refurbished by MSI from newegg.
They look brand new with matching s/n boxes (not brown boxes)
When opening the bios in SRBPolaris V3.5 (same for V3.3) it reports "Bios is UNKNOWN, card may get damaged after flashing"
It shows the timings and everything but so far I can't get it to work with 1500> straps

I saved the stock bios with Atiflash_293 (maybe that is the culprit?)

With stock straps it hashes at 28.7mh/s in PhoenixMiner_5.3b (27-28 pool side) OC'd to cc:1170 and mc:2100 both on mV:850
No crashes and Phoenix reports a 68C temp with 108.4W power draw.
Wattman reports correctly the OC settings applied by OverdriveNTool

If I copy 1500 straps > then flash the new bios, pixel patch and OverdriveNtool I can't find a setting that works.
I tried every combination possible from cc 1100-1200 and mc from 1900-2100 and mV from 850-1000
As soon as Phoenix miner starts and applies the OC settings it either hangs or bsods.

Tried 3 different amd drivers. same outcome. currently on blockchain driver

I can provide the original bios if anyone can or wants to help investigate

I guess it's not terrible with stock hash. It's been about 2 years since I last did this so maybe I'm not up to date on things. I remember stock hashes on rx 570 used to be in the low 20s

Any help is greatly appreciated

Well, editor is not supported for a long time, and manufacturers maybe put some new tricks into BIOS

Well. I can confirm that in PCI-ex 16x slot even with 16x-16x riser speed is up to 28M.

Was a little mess with zombie auto tune on riser , but then set to auto seems normal.

in  my case its 15

Can you link the riser you are using? I ordered this one from a local web-shop.  https://www.1a.ee/p/kolink-pci-express-16x-auf-16x-riser-kabel-inkl-molex-stromkabel-19cm/1mzb
Get better risers mate, the one in your picture will not last long as I used to use something like that in the past they are not working anymore now, I have to get the 009s risers, even the 005,006 editions works

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074P34647/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_FXQNXV16201J7E2713V1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

His riser is 16X though, and your is poor 1X

That what happened yesterday was a legit Price Action or it was a group behind this pump like it was with small market cap alts?
I really missed any possible news about XRP.
$0.25 to $0.5 was something that I didn't expected to be honest!

Two possible causes:

1. Ripple public reaction vs SEC allegations

https://www.coindesk.com/ripple-responds-to-sec-lawsuit-over-xrp-sales

2. 125k member PND group behind doge PND focused on XRP now

https://www.cryptonary.com/xrp-rallies-more-than-50-after-a-telegram-group-pumps-the-token/

probably both

Of course I apologize for my French, but that we don't have some mega whore like Musk, Gates, Trump, etc. Who would write on Twitter, WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook, etc. - Burst ...
Developers, suckers too! At the end of 2017. the developers of Einsteinium EMC2.0 turned out such a scam: On the main page they posted news with a countdown, which said that when the countdown ended, something mega cool would happen to their project. And on the picture of this news was drawn a bitten APPLE. You can use the charts and history of EMC2.0 for yourself. see how the coin took off then in value.
Now look at the DOGE course and what Musk's posts lead to, etc. on Twitter.
And I do not need blah blah blah that this is a criminal offense. Mask got away with it more than once. The developers of EMC2.0 got away with it too.

This one?

747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN-EMC2 Einsteinium FUNDING THE FUTURE WITH THE FUTURE OF CURRENCY KMD-dPoW on: January 26, 2021, 06:44:49 PM
I just started my wallet (Einsteinium Core version v0.13.5.0-b82c8c7-lightsaber (64-bit)) for the 1st time in months, and as soon as I launch it windows defender pops up saying it has found a threat - PUA:Win32/CoinMiner

is this a false positive os should I be worried?

Probably not, but considering EMC2 team track record, nothing would surprise me
748  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: January 22, 2021, 05:53:58 PM
Well .. it did drop to $29,500 a few hours ago so sub $30,000 is definitely possible and people shouldn't discount drops even further such as sub $20,000 that this threads title suggests.

People will see an opportunity elsewhere and bail out. It happens, just be prepared for the drop.

It will be OK, another 2 billion Tether printed to sustain this bull run
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BIDOOH - A Global Digital Advertising Screen Network Open to Everyone. on: January 20, 2021, 09:41:06 AM

The idea of launching a network of smart billboards is great. If large companies had taken this idea on board, it would have been implemented long ago and most of the costs would have already paid off.

P.S. As always, the co-founders were ruined by their greed.

It is interesting that two conflicted sides both started new advertising companies as if nothing happened.

Question is: if technology existed and was not vapourware, who got ownership of the software, and why

he "forgot" about token?

753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BOUNTY] 🚀 AZBIT - Blockchain Investment Banking on: January 11, 2021, 08:21:05 AM
After 2 years wait, they gave everyone 5 days to "claim" their bounty in telegram group,
conveniently (for them) at Christmas time, so of course many missed it

My prediction:

once they have exchange wallets filled, they will get "hacked"

755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: January 01, 2021, 01:08:28 AM
i still wonder whose buying up XRP https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/xrp
price does recover but what extent
Would not last because there's still bad news to come and people are not worried since they can just put their money to altcoins which are not pumping yet, and altcoins season might come and will make XRP to look even more bad.

Most probably the team are just manipulating the price for now since they are holding a huge amount of XRP, but you are right, to what extent, we know that manipulation does only work in short term, so like I said this would not last.

The team has has unlocked 1 billion XRP from escrow. This appears to be part of Jed McCaleb’s payment or someone from Ripple will begin to dump?

It happens every month, where you been last 3 years?
756  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: December 31, 2020, 05:40:22 PM

The institutional investors who drove this rally don't panic sell. It too years for them to decide to buy. It will take years for them to sell.

Shorting is the easiest way to profit for big institutional investors. Panic sell comes after, by small fish starting to panic sell, as you pointed out
757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market? Will NEVER HAPPEN because of tether printing. on: December 31, 2020, 04:55:27 PM

if OP's arguments had any reality to it then price should have never dropped in first place and the bear market that he claimed "will never happen" would have never happened. but we know now that it did happen and Tether never had any effects on bitcoin price.

It didn't happen because at that period USDT was used to get USD, not BTC, thats the whole point
758  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market? Will NEVER HAPPEN because of tether printing. on: December 31, 2020, 08:42:59 AM

Losing control of dollars held in a bank account is a matter of third party trust gone bad. That's very different than intentionally printing unbacked tokens.

You believe 16 billion USDT printed in 2020 is backed by fiat? They had trouble to back it 1:1 when market cap was 700m, but now suddenly found 20 billion somewhere?
759  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin climbs the price level to 27k, what do we expect next? on: December 30, 2020, 08:35:46 PM
Even I had similar expectation based on past Christmas record of Bitcoin but it surprised us this year and it's rallying towards $30k now. I don't think there would be a correction phase anytime sooner, bitcoin is receiving more institutional investment which would only surge value of Bitcoin.

Elon Musk used to be mad at institutional money coming to Tesla...because they always shorted it a bit later

760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin climbs the price level to 27k, what do we expect next? on: December 30, 2020, 08:18:51 PM
100k+ soon if Bitfinex continues to print tether at current rate, 3k if SEC goes after Bitfinex
It would be silly to think that bitcoin has increased only because there are more USDT printed, that is not the case at all. You think grayscale bought half a million bitcoins using USDT? Do you think microstrategy did? Reuffer or whatever? Do you really think that almost all the bitcoins bought this year were from USDT? Obviously it wasn't, they can print as much as they want but as long as there is no way to know which one was used for bitcoin buying and how much wasn't, there is no way you can make a claim like that.

I can easily say that there are tons of USDT in the market going around hand to hand but it is one time deal and after that it becomes futile attempt to use that as increase, the first one is the only one, after that it is calculated in already, whereas getting billions of dollars worth of bitcoin and just keeping that in your cold storage makes it a lot more sustainable.
