1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CHIA XCH mining: Why mining without value? on: June 07, 2021, 10:50:09 AM
Chia coin is the most hardest coin to mine compare to ETH and BTC, the reason why many are rushing to build a rig for chia is they think it's early but the fact is chia mining/farming isn't like GPU mining, it will get extremely difficult to mine in shortest period of time

Right now its comparable with mining ETH; Say right now for every 400 plots you can make $10/day, about the same as  +200MH rig of gpus, 1-2 weeks ago chia was $20/day, but so was ETH now its $10/day

Seems like all crypto is quickly less profitable this is not about price drop, as its the coin amount that has gone down, for instance +2 weeks ago my rigs did 0.01 ETH per day now its 0.005, nothing to do with price, the ETH just simply reduced miner fee's

WRT to chia the space growth has finally dropped from 8%/day to now 1%/day, but still not in decline.

Certainly if you don't have +500 plots your not in game, also lots of FUD right now with the 'portable plot' kluster-f*ck, the lies about pools, the new scam pools like chia-core, or just core-pool, as chia-net says nobody on earth can say 'chia seed' but them,

Well with GPU's your income comes & goes with miners moving around, but with chia, certainly space will continue to grow, first they said 'your plots are forever', now they say 'time to replot', this kills our nvme drives to re-plot, so certainly this scam will never end the rules will change by the hour, and when bram&hoffman are having their periods.

***

Comparing GPU to HDD mining, well GPU mining doesn't kill your hw ( keep it clean, dry, dust free , and keep power/temp < 70C )

HDD mining kills NVME drives, kill HDD drives which constantly have to be 'tested' everything about HDD mining well at least the 'chia model' is destruction of drives so that manufacturers can sell more product, funny thing as most have already excluded warranty for HDD-mining, but paid for the practice, most CHIA influencers on YT are paid by WD, ... Just like NVIDIA there cards sell out, so they punish miners by down-grading MH, go figure 'do what we say, so we may then punish you', this is of course psychotic.

If you 'plot' ( make a plot file ) on a HDD, you will kill the drive, so we use NVME drives pcie-4x16, nearest cpu; If you plot with SSD-sata you will kill them, chia is an enterprise business, yet the influencers still say 'bring your old hw to be destroyed, and then buy new', whats a mother not to like about the biggest multi-billion USD tech-scam to come along?

It's amazing how much total crap you speak.. Please go do some reading on the shit your spouting.

I'm getting 46-47mh currently.

6 months later its at 45mh.

Anyone getting much more than 45MH now (April 2021) from a 1080Ti?

I have no data on the number of ASICs produced, but this seems to be a huge problem for mining on video cards

6000MH not 6000GH..  a very important difference lol.

cheers

With lolminer you are able to do it...

I send you the link information... if you are not able to do it let's us know... to help you

Hello, I've been using PM for my 1070s and for every epoch I think it decreases more and more when mining ethereum. Right now they've dropped to 25 MH/s from 30 MH/s. Will lolMiner improve the hashrate or does the zombi mode work only for 4gb? Thanks.

It is true what it said miner29... it is a Intern hardware limit.

What you should do is increase power limit and push the core... for example a nice profile not so aggressive is core 90 Memory 900 and PL 125. That should give around 27-28Mhs.

Share with us your results

PL125 is very aggressive IMO.

my 1070's run core +100 , mem +650 , PL85-90 - 28-29MH as of today.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Some questions, a dilemma and confusion... on: March 12, 2021, 11:27:44 AM
Even with 'free' electricity that rig is way overpriced.

In a bear market you'd get that rig for $1300-$1500 tops.

I paid 120(~$150) for each of my Nitro 580 8GB's in early October last year... That is there true price when this current bull market ends.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Worth building a farm at 0.047 usd/kwh on: March 02, 2021, 09:37:43 PM
I built 12 x 580 8gb rig in Oct 2020, It cost around $2800-3000

Spending $6k on that setup right now, is very very risky. Even with your cheap electric rate.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080ti still a good buy in 2021? on: February 15, 2021, 06:13:01 PM
A single GTX1080Ti draws up to 280 watts  @ 49mhs per second when using to mine Ethereum, that's a lot compares to today's graphic cards, using 4x if this cards will draw high amount of current, I will only use this cards for crytpo mining if I have free electricity, a single RX5700XT will do 54mh per second at just 91 watts, that's what I called energy efficiency

47mh @ 210w here for 1080ti
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH network hashrate going to the moon!!!! on: February 13, 2021, 10:54:23 PM
With this ENORMOUS HASHRATE we can now say without a single doubt:

1 Once ETH goes PoS, there will be , at least, 450TH of hashing power searching for coins to mine, which will DESTROY any viable coin till that point. So the end of ETH is the END of mining. This is A FACT. Unless there is a coin that increases it's prices by x10 at least so that "difficulty vs profit" gives at least some money back. Or that appears a new ETH, which , BTW has not appeared in the last 5 years.

2 With this enormous hashrate, ETH devs are going to follow the EIP-1559 and will be implemented ASAP. Why? Because this ridiculous amount of hashrate leeds to MORE INFLATION, more coins, and more profit for miners. And only 1 or 2 DEVs supports mining to continue as it is. And ETH devs don't want this profit to this extent. So, miners are going to get destroyed very soon. Fees will be burnt, and DEVS are going to implement it. This is a FACT for me.

3 As this madness continues, DEVS are going to rush the implementation of PoS, so the end of mining, and i'm 100% sure that they are going to do it before 2022. Some were saying that by end of 2022 or even 2023. With the current situation of madness, and it's going to continue because PEOPLE ARE GREEDY AF, DEVS will have no option but to rush to implement PoS.

4 ASICS are taking ETH. I feel like there are more and more getting into the hashrate, and this is a disaster to all the comunity, because ASICS are the most profitable machines outthere, by far. And only very few people are getting them, and they are destroying the rest. My guess here? DEVS are not going to implement ANY kind a anti-ASICS code on the net, and so, this very rich-greedy guys are going to continue flooding the pool with very powerfull high-efficient machines that will force DEVS to end ETH mining FASTER.

It doesnt matter which vision you have on ETH. This are FACTS, and as time goes by, more and more people are entering this market, and you, ALL OF US, are going to get less and less and less. It's a F. disaster. This is pure greed and madness.

Interesting points but not quite FACTS as you put it.

1/ Yes, a good chunk will sell-up and not return (hopefully) and it will leave the rest.. I've been mining since 2 years before ETH came along and in '13-'15 there was PLENTY of coins to choose from that were all marginally profitable at the time.

2/ Possibly, More than 51% of the hashrate (pools) have opposed the EIP.. So it could well be interesting if they try to implement it. See https://stopeip1559.org/

3/ POS has been 'coming' since 3 months after ETH's birth in '15.. 6 years later.. Yep, it's still 'coming'.. Albeit closer.. but nonetheless still 'coming' .. My guess is minimum 2 years, likely 3-3.5 years away.

4/ I absolutely agree.. A couple days ago Vitalik said in an interview regarding POW he was looking at possibly inflating DAG size to 7.5GB (static) for rest of POW period.. This would wipe off ALL current ASICS and 6GB GPU's for that matter.. How serious he was I don't know I suppose we'll hear more in the coming weeks.

Can someone help me with this.
I still mine on 4Gb GPUs and when I set --eth_epoch=374 to test I get about 10 MH/s
When I remove that and start to mine I get only 1.3 MH/s.
Why is that?

With 4gb cards you would be better off using lolminer v1.22 as they give a hashrate of about 26 mh/s.

26-28mh with the card in the x16 slot (not using a riser) if using a riser.. It will be 14-16mh currently.

I found two my old GPU's (AMD Radeon 4850 0.5GB and 6870 1GB), what kind of hashrate I would expect from these cards? And if I connect 2 GPU's to mobo, do I need the SLI bridge adapter for mining?

It simply won't work at all. You need at least 4 Gb VRAM to mine ETC and 6 Gb VRAM for ETH...

Not quite correct

for ETC you need 2.6GB VRAM currently

for ETH you need 4.1GB VRAM currently

Yes indeed.

But there not point to buy a 3Gb VRAM to mine ETC unless you already have the VGA and with a 4Gb VGA you can't mine ETH and there no 5 Gb VRAM VGA...
