Guys thanks everyone for the interesting conversations here

Thanks all that even after a while - you keep sending me merit

Speaking about Ukraine, and that's my home country - we will grow Bitcoin and crypto business no matter what the government will do in terms of legalization

Ok, let's imagine Bitcoin is legal so what? This will attract new entrepreneurs and businesses?
Maybe to some extent - but we have other benefits, such as big community of developers and crypto enthusiats, lower prices than in many other countries

Even if you earn 0.1 BTC month - you can have very high standard of living

And now as we have war with russia, I think - it's time to come and start businesses. Time to build, time to invest!

Yes, you might risk your capital more than in other countries, but others are risking their lives...

As for now, there were no sales
But thanks everyone for your interest
It was definitely interesting experience

True true, and I am not saying yours will not do worse,,, I definitely do wish you luck. I have said before that I will always support people who are unfairly forced to leave their homes and defend their lands. I am happy more people are returning.

I cannot even really afford to buy a passport to visit my neighboring country,,, much less fly to Kyiv  Grin

Good luck again, maybe a photo compilation of returnees seeing their homes again for the first time after war. That could be a useful NFT collection.

Sorry to hear if you can't afford a passport
But it seems you are not a newbie in crypto, so there are way to make money here now

For example - crypto-blogging
Here is my recent publication about Kyiv and this platform - Read.cash is where you can earn by your writing

https://read.cash/@cryptotexty/kyiv-fortress-the-life-of-the-frontline-city-2b8e69bb

Thanks for good words!

I'm not sure I will do personal photos, maybe photos of soldiers after victory. Maybe to do it that way that each amount from the sale will go to them directly
I will need to think which platform to use

There are also Ukrainian members of the forum, who are in territorial defense. They wrote about it, they can be found in the topics in Meta, Politics and Society and Economics, dedicated to the war russia started against Ukraine. Some participants have been on the forum for a long time, you can have personal trust in them. Territorial defense needs help, as do the armed forces, volunteers and refugees. You can help these people directly. This is another example of why talking about war in this forum is important, and another way the crypto community can really help its members.

Thanks for the info. I'm also part of the territorial defense and also doing some other things both online and offline.
I'm not collecting money as there are already many other people doing this
I would be happy to meet in Kyiv with these people if we can have some point of cooperation
I'm spending my own funds as much as I can

As an experiment and maybe a small way to raise some more funds I created thes NFTs
https://opensea.io/collection/kyivfortress

And also you can check my recent publication about Kyiv

48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Kyiv Fortress NFT collection on Opensea on: April 14, 2022, 10:11:42 AM
Photographs as NFTs,,, I am not really sure what to make out of it, but anyway I will always support the right of people to defend themselves and self determination so I will say to you good luck. Just,,, be safe and do not put up too much hope on NFTs. At the very least you have something to appreciate looking back.

Perhaps people would do better? People of Fortress Kyiv Smiley

Well, as I saw a lot of NFT exist in the format of photos. Otherwise there wouldn't be such category on Opensea
But of course brands and names matter

Thanks for the suggestion, people are doing ok
More and more people return to Kyiv.
But I advise to visit Kyiv now only if you are ok to take the risk. If you like the risk, and many people like the risk that's reason why extreme sport and this kind of things exist

We have seen so many scams involving donations to Ukraine war victims and most members in the forum are aware of the trend. How are you going to convince as that you will do what you say?

I understand this concern, and that's why I'm not collecting funds on a big scale, there are many others doing it
For example, there are trustworthy and reputable funds such as
https://savelife.in.ua/en/donate/
https://donate.thedigital.gov.ua/

But this my NFT collection is not expensive, people are buying many NFTs of photography, maybe somebody can buy photos of Kyiv

And what I can do to convince, is to make video like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J18T2A169dQ

In this particular case Blurt community wanted to donate for drones and I donated in video
I added a bigger amount of my funds

But for me, this NFT collection is also an experiment. You can see that there were no sales. Maybe it's better to focus on some other opportunities, earn more money and just donate from your funds (what I'm doing anyway, and even long before full-scale invasion started)

One more collection of NFTs which I will make in collaboration with one artist, will be a serie of poetry. She collects funds for her batallion and I already sent her funds,
So no risk for her, battalion had some extra funds, and if there will be sales - I will donate more

If you have any suggestion where I can put that collection - pleas say
I tested different platforms on different blockchains
Now I tend to do it on Opensea again
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Kyiv Fortress NFT collection on Opensea on: April 12, 2022, 09:03:04 PM
Just recently I created my first NFT collection on Opensea and I called it “Kyiv Fortress” because now my home city Kyiv is like a Fortress. Those photos I took before, as now to make pictures of fortifications is not a good idea. The enemy’s idea of siege failed, but russian orcs can return and there are many of them in the south and east of Ukraine.

The link on Opensea:

https://opensea.io/collection/kyivfortress

I’ve been following NFT area for long time, but only now finally created collection. You can let me know your opinion, and in case there will be sales, I’ll use the funds for supporting Ukraine.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Interview with Marc De Mesel - Crypto and Investing in war times on: April 06, 2022, 06:33:22 PM
Today we spoke with Marc De Mesel about Crypto and Investing in war times

Here is the video, text version will be done in the next few days, and some of the questions we've discussed you can see below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SO3xVUtF1Y

- In war times crypto becomes an even bigger store of value, especially as inflation increases. Do you agree with it, and do you see more newcomers to crypto?

- What stage of the crypto market do we have now? Your opinion

- In one of your videos you mention "Buy when there is blood in the streets". Now unfortunately we have blood on the streets. Is it time to buy and what to buy?

- Many investors are afraid to invest (in anything). What would be your suggestion - to wait or to overcome fear?

- Real estate market in war times.

- Many businesses collapse. New opportunities emerge. Seting up new businesses or investing in them.

- Import/export seems to be one of the promising area, as many old logistic chains are broken and new will be emerging.

- Is it good time for Ukraine to create its own CBDC (Central Bank digital currency)?

- A lot of crypto communities supported Ukraine financially. How is the situation in your circles, and after the war (or here we say after the victory) do you think Ukraine might become one of the major countries for the crypto industry? Do you personally plan to come, for example for one of the crypto events?

Hello everyone,

I'm writing this in English to ask all the readers not to send funds to such spammers and scammers

The crypto help to Ukraine is amazing but unfortunately there are always bad people who want to enrich themselves

So send only to confirmed official programs (i.e. Aid for Ukraine https://donate.thedigital.gov.ua/, Save Life fund)

Or to people whom you know personally (i.e. to volunteers whom you can follow on social media and see reports, or directly people who fight on the frontline, or people whom you know who require the funds for food, etc.)

Thanks again!

Was it you taking the video?

Yes, it was me
Actually I didn't expect this post here will generate so many responses and thank you to everyone who sent merit to me

Just not so long ago I was in Dubai and visited this pavilion, and a week after I returned to Ukraine and Russia attacked my country.
russians are bombing and killing civilians, and it feels - FEW YEARS passed since I made that video

Why I mention this because I'm confident that Ukraine after winning this war will become one of the major countries
And I'm thankful to everyone who contributed to the victory with your BTC, with your crypto
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / El Salvador positions itself as the first Bitcoin city at Expo2020 in Dubai on: February 17, 2022, 09:05:59 PM
On the Expo2020 in Dubai I was happy to visit El Salvador pavilions. Honestly speaking - I think that's the best in its category (among the small pavilions).

You will see a mix of audio-visual presentations, such as the one below, which has strong message of "Bitcoin city", then in other room you have another presentation which shows the city, nature and the life there. And then - in a cafe room you can taste local coffee. And finally, near the exit - you can see they have a radio room, and they are broadcasting there. So it looks like El Salvador used the most from the space it had. And now I hope to visit it and sharing with you this short video
