261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be like Bill on: September 29, 2018, 03:43:00 AM
It is seriously tough to try and trade for profits in a Bearish market, and I wouldn't recommend anyone try leveraged trading and shorting coins. The less stressful strategy is to average down through the dips which give you the chance of breaking even faster or making larger profits when the coin rises in price again.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "The collapse of ETH is inevitable" - Article on: September 28, 2018, 05:40:05 AM
Hey its just somebody else's point of view, I think we have already seen the bottom for Ethereum and it would not have even dipped to around $160 had the ICO not been dumping to safeguard some of their funding.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Panic selling! Yes or No? on: September 28, 2018, 05:36:38 AM
Panic selling is simply a mistake, you should never mix panic with investment choices, you need to keep a calm head when you invest otherwise you will regret your actiond later.

265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to Buy XRP? on: September 27, 2018, 04:35:56 AM
The best time to be buying Ripple was in late August when it was under $0.30 touching 25c at one point. We all know it is extremely difficult to time the market perfectly however since all of the altcoins have taken a real dive during this year it is not unreasonable to assume that a market recovery will see Ripple trading back over $1.20 so in that scenario it is worth investing in now.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH or EOS? which coin will survive? on: September 27, 2018, 04:33:09 AM
hey boy, eth, eos, stellar, ripple are not decentralized!!! pay attention to the website named "are we decentralized yet?" https...arewedecentralizedyet dot com and please take a look at the column named "% of money supply held by top 100 accounts" the ripple has 81% of money supply held by top 100 accounts, ETH has 34%, stellar has 95%... on the other hand DASH has only 14%, DASH is absolutely decentralized; looking at this data analysis, we must conclude that DASH is the best option  Roll Eyes

The OP didn't ask which of the coins was well distributed amongst its holders.

I think both Ethereum and EOS will survive and be well used for the next 2 - 3 years at least and at that time we may see a swing in the adoption balance from Ethereum to EOS or perhaps even another coin that hasn't yet surfaced.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is no need to panic!!!!! on: September 26, 2018, 06:43:59 AM
It's true that Blockchain technology is just in it's infancy right now but it is growing up quickly. The key thing that is missing right now is mass adoption and there needs to be some crossover projects where people will be using blockchain without realising they are doing so. They need to be encouraged to use crypto without any specialist knowledge or preconceptions. One such project that is going to sit in the gap is ShareRing they have blockchain and crypto at the heart of the project but people will be able to use their technology with only credit cards and FIAT and the conversion will happen behind the scenes.

In the same way people use Amazon to buy almost everything they do so without caring what database technology the system runs on, ShareRing aims to bring customers onboard to use the platform without thinking about blockchain beneath it.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you use diversification? on: September 26, 2018, 06:35:36 AM
I would never recommend to anyone that they put all of their investment into just 1 coin, the risk associated with this is far too great. That isn't to see that it cannot be a strategy that works just that it is a single point of failure. I would pick 4 or 5 projects to invest with that way if one of them turns out to be a scam or fails for any other reason I still have the others to rely on in an attempt to cover and make a profit.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you invest in ripple ? on: September 25, 2018, 05:06:09 AM
I have had a position in Ripple since autumn last year, I think my buy-in price was 19c and I hold most of that position at the moment. I have also bought and sold Ripple at prices above that level so I am happy to trade in it when I see a suitable opportunity. I would expect to see Ripple back over $1.20 when we have a market recovery so some nice profits available if you are buying now.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto like a fulltime job on: September 25, 2018, 05:03:15 AM
I do spend a lot of my day with crypto related sites but not much of that is spent with Bitcointalk. I think I spend more time on Telegram, and Discord than Bitcointalk and then looking at exchanges or the Ethereum Dex platforms.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you invest in ripple ? on: September 24, 2018, 04:46:38 AM
What chart are you reading? Ripple went to $3 then gradually dropped to around $1.20 with the final decline to low 20s coming with the rest of the altcoin decimation. I picked up some Ripple late August at 25c and sold a chunk of it again at 66c so I am happy to ride the ups and downs of Ripple whilst keeping a stack for the longer term as well. Usage cases for Ripple are certainly improving and I think it will be in use for quite a few years to come. Spread your investments around, however, it is not sensible to put everything into just 1 coin.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think ETH will be bounce back? on: September 23, 2018, 07:32:31 AM
It depends where you are expecting it to bounce back to?

It has already staged a 50% recovery from the recent low at $160. I would expect Ethereum to be back around $300 in the next few weeks but not looking for much more than unless Bitcoin turns Bullish and breaks the current cycle of residing under $7,000 then on through $9,200. We certainly will not see $800 Ethereum this year without a miraculous recovery.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Government does not like crypto? on: September 22, 2018, 05:46:27 PM
I am pretty sure that the Governments do not have any issues at all with crypto, the people causing the problems and driving the anti-sentiment would be the central banks who do not like the ideas of anyone else having any level of personal control over their own money.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEPTEMBER. on: September 21, 2018, 06:16:15 AM
I do think September was the absolute bottom for the altcoins, Bitcoin has already posted what I think is its low for the year at $5,800 and the final drop in Ethereum to $160 was quickly reversed by about 25% to the $200 level again. I am still not convinced that anything more than sideways movement is in store for us in 2018 so don't expect anything special from the 'ber months.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ripple is so popular? on: September 21, 2018, 06:10:07 AM
If we look back at History Ripple actually topped $3 in January this year before dropping back to $2 then falling with the rest of the coins in the downtrend. I don't stress about Ripple not being a truly decentralised crypto it is a Blockchain project that is pretty mainstream now and it has a good use case for speeding up banking transfers. I think it will do well in time so represents a good investment opportunity at the moment.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoins dip what to do? on: September 20, 2018, 04:52:52 AM
Bitcoin is still the undisputed King when it comes to crypto and it is still languishing around the lows for the year. The altcoin market is going to remain low until there is a sustained rise in Bitcoin and it breaks out of the channels it still sits in. If you have any funds available for investment now would be a great time to start with some of the quality coins or else add to your existing bags and get your $ cost average down.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk rank down on: September 20, 2018, 04:05:40 AM
I feel sorry for a lot of the newcomers that have been trying to increase their standing in the community. Put plainly I do not think the merit system works the way it was intended to, I see an awful lot of good posts and they do not get rewarded. It seems there is a way out of your predicament which is to pay for the copper membership currently costing - 0.00208333 BTC

Yes it is annoying to have to pay to remedy the problem but it is only $13 which you should be able to recover ++ from your first signature campaign
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feel like quitting on: September 19, 2018, 08:49:43 AM
It's a setback for sure but from what I was reading you have an option to pay for Copper Membership which will cost around $12 payable in BTC and give you the same signature privileges as a Member. I know it's annoying but you will soon recover the outlay from Bounty campaigns.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency & Lessons Learned on: September 19, 2018, 08:43:45 AM
Cryptocurrency lessons learned? Approximately 95% of the new launched ICO will turn out to be garbage and drop to a fraction of their launch price or disappear totally within the following 12 months.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have received some tokens. Should I sell or hold? on: September 18, 2018, 06:04:04 AM
I would suggest to you that the decision should be based upon the amount of cash you will receive right now and is that enough compensation for the effort you put in? I have seen one project where the bounty I received is currently worth about $28 so for me it's a sensible decision to hold and wait.
