Thanks. I guess I should sell my Namo Lodger I bought from some Chinese guy on eBay.
Well, you maybe shouldnt sell this device. As you are currently aware of it maybe being manipulated and therefore being dangerous you should not put someone else in danger. Keep in mind that the one that buys it from you will likely use it without thinking twice and therefore loose his entire savings. If you sell this its morally not right and you should keep in mind too that you as seller will be responsible for what you are selling, not the chinese guy you purchased the device from in the first place. Just my 2 cents. You're right. I should rename it to something else such as Mano Ledgar, remove the Chinese malware, replace it with my own malware and then sell it. Haha, that wasnt exactly where I was trying to go with my comment, but you might do good with doing it like that. When selling it, why let the chinese guy benefit from it, rather benefit yourself. Do whatever you please, but I wouldnt sell this device at all.

Hmm good to read this. Thanks for sharing. I actually bought a nano ledger S from someone on the internet, but it was still in the foil etc. So I think it wasnt opened before, but I was still suspicious and put transferring my savings on hold. I did also purchase a ledger from the manufacturer directly and both of them looked exactly the same. But I think my gut feeling was right, these devices can be manipulated. So its always better to purchase directly from the manufacturer and just wait for some more time until to you get the device.

Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency ICOs... What's everyones opinion!?
|
on: January 08, 2018, 01:41:37 PM

Well, ICO's are a totally new territory in the world of investments. I do think that there is a lot of work to be done like setting regulatory framework for ICO's to become a sustainable investment model. These days there are a lot of scams popping up each other day to raise funds for mere ideas that might never become a reality. Some folks might try to implement their idea but dont have the practical skills, some others might never even try after collecting the funds. Thats why we need some sort of global regulation on this. Thats my point of view.

Pretty interesting project. I like health related blockchain projects. I have been investing in Ptoy when it came up, but am not satisfied with their performance. I will likely invest into this one as well (but only after doing more research). All the best with your ICO.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money?
|
on: January 08, 2018, 01:04:52 PM

For me there is not much difference besides of the physical side of cash. For me a currency (bitcoin or dollar or whatever fiat currency) become what they are by the people accepting it as a means of payment. So as Bitcoin becomes more and more accepted in society, its just another currency that has all benefits of fiat, while being superior!

The most important rule is not to put all eggs in one basket. Secondly you have to decide for yourself what your personal risk taking should be like. If you want to have a high possible profit, you will also have a higher risk to take. I would diversify my portfolio widely. Maybe put 65% in safe bets of the top 10 cryptos, while putting the remaining 35% in coins/ tokens with more risk but higher possible profit. Most importantly, do a lot of research about the coins you will put your money into. Do not just listen to some guys on the internet, because you can almost everytime be sure that they advise the coins that they are invested in themselves. DYOR!

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Centra Tech | Multi-Blockchain Worldwide Debit Card & Insured Wallet

Hi there, can anyone explain to me what the wallet insurance does mean? Does this mean that if a Centra Tech user looses his private keys will be able to be refunded the money that was in the wallet? I think this is great because we desperately need something like this in crypto before it can become mainstream, but on the other hand I dont see this working out without big insurance companies with a lot of funds getting into it. I mean, it would surely ruin centra if some big players loose control over their funds and expect a refund of some millions worth of coins. Please correct me if I miss something fundamental here.

Congratulations to all people that held through the bitter times of SIA's price. But now we are all get rewarded for our patience. I actually didnt expect to surpass the 400 sats (where I bought) anytime soon after we saw the about 50 sats bottom lately. Great to see that SIA made a x10 that easily. Im happy that Im in profits again finally, however Im going to hold SIA for much longer. Dont even think of selling!

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How I can make money with cryptocurrencies?
|
on: January 08, 2018, 11:43:18 AM

I would suggest just to take all the money you can spare (and possibly loose without ruining you financially) and put it in the cryptos that interest you (and that you researched thoroughly), then hold the coins/ tokens for some months/ years and enjoy the earnings. This strategy payed out nicely for me so far.

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you deal with loss?
|
on: January 07, 2018, 10:35:41 PM
|
I just accept every loss that my portfolio suffers, because in the end the loss was my own fault. I try to learn from my losses so they wont repeat themselves. One thing I learned from losses in crypto is not to fall in love with the coins that you hold. Set entries and exit points and stick to them.

Hey there, I just stumbled on this project. I didnt hear about it before, just saw XEL sometimes on Coinmarketcap. Sounds really interesting and as it is around for some time now its seems legit! As Im interested in supercomputing, I would like to know if this project is in competition with projects like Golem and Sonm? Or is this something different? Sorry for the newbie questions and thanks in advance for the answers!

The ripple technology will change the way the world transfers money. In my opinion, any tech that changes something that big is a sure-fire bet. It's just like investing into Microsoft back in the 90's, or BitCoin back in 2009 lol. XRP is going to go up. It's just starting to be used by banks. Once more banks start to use the tech the sky is the limit. I'm holding onto my XRP for a while. I want to see 100$ per coin before I even think of selling lol.
You may be right with your assumption, although I think $100 for one XRP would be like crazy. Cant believe that will happen anytime. However I was proven wrong with my pessimistic expectations some times already. I will still just hold my XRP for now, doesnt seem like its rally is near to over.
