1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: July 19, 2015, 08:50:11 AM
Hi. Dunno if this is the right place. But since the new round started (like an hiur ago)  I fail to get work updates from Bitminter. Is anyone else experiencing this?

For Info: I am running two Antminer U2s (the "old" 2 GH/s usb sticks) using BFGMiner 3.10.0. Worked just fine until about an hour ago.

Which URL are you mining with? If you are using getwork or getblocktemplate, please switch to stratum. Getwork/GBT support is being shut down on the first of august.

That means switching from http://mint.bitminter.com:8332 to stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333

You may also want to upgrade to a new bfgminer version - 3.10 is very old.

Hi. I am mining on stratum. It's all fine. I didn't check on things for two weeks and missed that the minimum diff was raised. Obviously the U2s take longer than before solving diff 64 shares. This leads to a different output from BFGMiner. Before there were a lot of solved accepted shares reported with the occasional request for work in between now it is the other way around a lot of work request with the occasional solved share. So that is as should be expected.

I would like to have 1 million bitcoins.

Realistically though I may be able to reach half a Bitcoin by then if I stop spending what I earn for games..

Milla Jovovich as Leeloo vs. Scarlett Johansson as Lucy.

If we talk looks I have to choose Scarlett she's way prettier in my view. And that voice. If we talk acting skills it's a tie. They are both average in the worst possible way. Nothing special about either of them. Then again not everyone can be a Natalie Portman, Jodie Foster or Meryl Streep. To name just a few very gifted actresses.

As far as the Movie goes: I'll definetly watch. Looks like an enjoyable evening to look forward to.

Awesome as it is. Stumbled upon this decentralized currency on an internet ad. I'm thinking of joining the community. Am I too late?  Cheesy

No. Most people agree that we are still in the early phase of this.
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining bandwith on: July 26, 2014, 09:02:25 AM
I know too little about the in depth details of how stratum works to know whether up and downstream should be equal or not. I just report the numbers that BFGMiner is showing for almost 3 months now.

The point still is that any state of the art DSL connection is more than sufficient to run a miner without having to upgrade. Heck you could even use ISDN or 56k modems for small time miners.

The idea sounds really nice. It will all depend on the design imo. Even though it is just for amateur/starting comedians it has to have a professional look.
9  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining bandwith on: July 25, 2014, 01:54:36 PM
For a reference: I have 2 Antminer U2s mining at 4 GH/s combined and they use 48 B/s up and 28 B/s down.

Bandwidth usage is really really small thanks to the stratum protocol.
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: mining problem on: July 24, 2014, 04:07:30 PM
if i rent a rig  for others , how could i solo a coin with his rig and use my own wallet

it is possible ? please help thanks Undecided

In most cases you either get remote access to the rented rig so you can configure it yourself to mine on a pool as your worker. Or the person you rent from configures it accordingly.

In order to solo mine you'd need to setup a stratum pool that is connected to your wallet. Guides on that can be found in the mining subforum.

The stratum-proxy that was mentioned in the post before is not made for solo mining. I found according posts myself when learning about solo mining but those are plain and simply wrong and written by people that are uninformed themselves. To elaborate on that: stratum is a protocol to split up mining work among connected miners. It is faster and less bandwidth intensive as the old getwork protocol (the original protocol implemented in the bitcoin-core client). However in earlier days there were miners that could only use the getwork protocol. The startum proxy was used to connect such miners and enable them to work with mining pools that used the stratum protocol.

Nowadays every miner can use stratum thus this stratum-proxy isn't needed anymore.

Last but not least some advice:

If you have the money available that is needed to rent a rig that is powerful enough for solo mining you are better off taking that money and buying bitcoin directly.

I doubt though that you have that much money so my advice is that your make your live easy and if you insist on mining then you should definetly mine on a pool instead of solo.

Sounds like an interesting Idea. If it is able to run on Android 2.3.7 I'd be interested in testing.

It will run on 2.3.1.
I actually had it running on my old original Droid Incredible a couple days ago. Smiley
Love that old phone, its a champ.

Nice. Beta Application Email sent.

Will be happy to test it.

Hehe, I like this new approach at a gambling/lottery site. It is something different.

But if I read the picture of how it works correct if a player chose to not pay a fee and no player get's chosen you will just keep the stake of that players, whereas if he chose to pay a fee in case of winning he gets his stake back without a fee deducted?

That is quite harsh in my view.

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free electricity but no free Internet... Should I still mine? on: July 23, 2014, 01:27:03 PM
If the IT guy of said library knows his job you won't be able to mine anyways, because he'll have blocked any ports except for HTTP, HTTPS and maybe the most common ports for Mail.

My advise: Just forget mining if you want to do it to "earn" money. Either safe up some Dollars and then just buy Bitcoins directly and do some trading (buy low, sell high) or do stuff that get's paid in Bitcoin, like a Signature Campaign in this forum.

He won't be using their Internet anyway, so I doubt the IT guy can do anything about it.

Oh I kinda misunderstood that part. Well if he's going to use mobile internet and the mobile internet package he is paying anyways isn't enough and forces him to upgrade it just for mining then that upgrade's price will eat up his income from the mining considering that he wants to use small miners like the Antminers.

Nice little article but I would of left out faucets as they are a waste of time and will only allow you to collect dust which you can't purchase anything from.

I agree on that. But more because most faucets force you to collect the gathered BTC in amounts smaller than the current transaction fee per KB, which makes the Bitcoin from those faucets practically useless. There are a few faucets that allow you to gather the BTC until you reach a useful amount and then withdraw them in one chunk so it is at least useable. But still you don't get much out of it and reaching an amount bigger than the transaction fee takes like forever.

I guess besides trading with Bitcoin freelance work or signature campaigns in this forum are the best way to get your hands on Bitcoins.

Hi Leute,

ich hab hier noch die Steam Keys für

"Bioshock 2",
"X-COM: Enemy Unknown" (das X-Com remake von 2012)
"X-COM: Apocalypse"
"X-COM: Enforcer"
"X-COM: Interceptor"
"X-COM: Terror from the Deep"

19  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Which game you would like to play for bitcoins? on: July 23, 2014, 10:32:03 AM
Chess, Checker, Battle Ships.

Stuff like that, that can be played as a two player game. With the option for the players to set up a game with a stake from both that the winner takes away. I personally would love Battle Ships, because I know a pretty little search pattern for it that can perform better than most random searching.
