i find it laughable some people dismissed the BCH fork pre-hardfork

but yet, continue to hold it till now anticipating higher prices

if you are one of these people and have the audacity to continue dismissing BCH, you are a fraud, a sellout. go look in the mirror

I think BCH will surprise us all! Bitcoin with Segwit can never be the original bitcoin.

BCH just needs a decent number of miners to spread out the mining distribution. thats it! it is more closer to the original bitcoin than Bitsegwit

ha ha!

Interesting. Difficult to predict as well.
Do you not think it might just follow the ETH / ETC relative price tracks ?  (and network hash rates for that matter)

ETH is now 20x ETC.

Why did the GAME fall so much?

Everything fell on the Chinese news. Especially coins which had ICOs, and MobileGo was the biggest ICO at the time. It will fall more over the next few months, but the project is sound.

It is time for a big correction, after the huge rises, and only to be expected.

Keep trolling and trolling China news already over even NEO gaining again.
This guy sold mgo and game hoping for a cheaper buyback

I Bought more MGO at $0.68 , never ever sold any: that might go lower, but not much.  Game is good for longer term , I have enough for now. I will hodl through any fall.

Hopefully  things stay steady, that is the best outcome for development and adoption.
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 07, 2017, 10:15:41 AM
So boys...

What's it gonna be a slow drift down to ~0.02/~100usd or another correcting spike up to ~0.05/~250usd?

We will get to 0.05 eventually of course, but this year or next year is the question.

Might depend on when the Dash price comes down.  As far as public perception goes, Dash is XMRs most important competitor : similar Market Cap size and privacy-centric.

If confidence in Dash falters, then Monero will benefit directly, in a big way. When that happens,  previous moves may seem relatively small. The attack vector information has not even started to filter down to the public money.

Quote
BLUF: In order to put the CPT back on track, we need to identify and employ additional personnel who are familiar with the CryptoNote code available for use in anonymous currencies.

So Monero is the only privacy project The Octopus can't defeat.  Good to know.  Bullish!

I wonder how much of the recent Moonero Event was DOD/NSA/DEA Deep State insiders trading on the knowledge that only XMR offers better than military grade crypto.

Regardless, I expect moar mooon when this memo gets passed around in wider circles.

Meanwhile, our clown friends at Dash have disabled InstantSend, because of an exploit in their supposedly bulletproof Masternode quorum security theater bullshit.  Grin Cheesy Grin

Dash Developers Disable InstantSend on the Network

fucking rekt roflmao

The Dash issue is quite a big deal. Unprecedented. I am surprised the price has held up.

All focus is on crazy speculation in the frothier cryptos atm, and people haven't yet woken up to the real issues. The re-ratings will come in due course.
625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: September 05, 2017, 07:59:34 AM
Started getting into cryptos a few months ago and I was very interested in all the money I saw being made on ICOs. I researched a few different coins and a couple sparked my interest, but they are proving not be what I thought they could be. Even tonight I spotted two ICOs that might be scams, so it definitely makes me hesitant about investing in ICOs. I'm starting to research coins that have been around awhile and maintained a level of success in crypto, and Dash is one of the one that I am very interested in. I'm currently looking at Dash, Monero, and Steem as my top 3 prospects for longer term holds. What do you guys think?

Price correction is underway after the 1000s % rises. All cryptos could fall a lot more. The boom-time for ICOs is pretty much over .

The 3 you listed are good, but this is a thread about Dash only.

Today's bar was last seen on June 12 - resulted in 39% correction. A 39% correction from today's high = 3,031 $BTC Hope I am wrong

https://twitter.com/PeterLBrandt/status/904107510927261696

Would be healthy. Look at the charts and see support in the 2000-2500 range. The price spent some time there in June. I want to see a test of the 3000 level. If that holds and rebounds, then the uptrend is intact. If 3000 fails, then 2000 might be revisited.
628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ GameCredits - The future of in-game monetization ★★★ on: September 02, 2017, 10:18:15 PM
Is there any major news regarding GAME Coin?

Seems like the price only keeps dropping and dropping its been stuck around $2.20-2.40 for like ages... any predictions as to
when it might hit $5?

Thanks!

Might be a couple of years. Will probably get nearer $1 first.

The reason I say that is because a general correction is now overdue. BTC has run up from $500 to $4800 in less than a year, and a decline back to around $1500 is likely in the bear market which is starting. That is healthy, but everything will be affected. If Game can hold $1 over the next year, it will be a great positive, and a buy signal.

This is only a probabilistic scenario, and might not happen. Don't be worried if it seems like a crash. The real development is what counts, not the speculative price.

Yes I'm a newbie to this forum. I'm not a troll neither am I a con. If I do not have any interest in your product I wouldn't take time to look at its background. If you want to build a business and you are business minded, you must learn to take critics and use it to improve your business instead of insulting those that criticised you. I want to invest in your product like many people here show positive actions instead of excuses.  Again am not against you don't take it personal.

Thanks for the comment then.  Slack channel has a bit more communication.

This is really in the nature of a revived project, so will make slow but solid progress, and the devs are working diligently.  In fact I am surprised at how high the price has remained, as well as the trading volume, and I think that indicates there is more widespread interest than is immediately obvious. These older coins often have substantial distribution, and a lot of dormant holders.
630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: September 02, 2017, 08:10:53 AM
If past actoin is any indication, $5k should be a psychological barrier. Poke above, consolidate below for a few weeks and break out to a high in the upper 5's or maybe breaking into the 6k region before the x2 drama takes us into an intermediate cool down period

Sounds reasonable, however, Bitcoin's price movements are far from reasonable.

Exactly so.

A lot of extreme factors are in play here.  That will lead to extreme price action.

Remember that also applies to the decline or 'crash' (which WILL come, only timing/levels in question). If you look at the long term chart, you can identify 3 bear markets of more than  80% fall. Another one is on the way, but it doesn't negate the long term picture.
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-CurrencyCoin Thread [CryptoBank Development] on: September 02, 2017, 07:51:37 AM
But serious...possible in 4-5 years at 1usd...no?

If ECC can recruit a lot of developers and mutiply users nodes and network by a large factor, I would think 1 cent might be achievable in 4 years. That would be a great result.

That is a total understatement....1 cent I expect before the end of this year and then I mean as an average price, not just once because somebody wanted to pump it

What special features would raise ECC above a hundred or so other alts which all have full-time development and great models/ideas ?

TBH, I would be very surprised to see it as high as 1c ever. At just 1c it would be around number 30 in market cap, above PIVX, Monaco, Ubiq, Gamecredits, Funfair, Ardor, Civic, to name but a few. These projects have teams, dozens of full time devs, real world infrastructure and business models.  What on earth could raise ECC above them ?

I am not bashing the project. I think it will grow, and I have a significant holding, but price targets should be realistic.

I like the video . I think this coin only need a little os marketing to really  go to the moon  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Funny part is, I don't think even the dev wants it to moon. Him/Her/They seem far more interested in the usage aspect.

Perhaps a steady uptick is good for this coin, versus just something that will be worth a bajillion dollars. So if you're looking for investment, maybe just hold?

The definite good part is the volume has increase a lot, so there are trade interests going on for sure.

Thats not strange at all.

As a holder, I definitely don't want the price to rise fast.  Development should create something useful, with long term value.

Sharp price rises in small projects are always a precursor to locked-in speculators, and the effective death of the coin (or at least a nuclear winter until development really breaks out)
634  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: August 23, 2017, 10:41:46 PM

Yes I converted 15% of my obsolete bitcoin holdings into Bitcoin Cash (BCC). I have already tripled my investment and I am laughing at the idiots who sell their bitcoin cash because when the obsolete bitcoin stops working they are left with nothing. I am risking only a fraction of my initial pre-fork bitcoins in order to triple my wealth. The reward far outweighs the risk here  Wink

That is the logically correct action , in my view, irrespective of your view on which version will prosper and which will die. It is just a matter of money-management through gearing, simply maths.

You have improved your risk/reward profile , bearing in mind that there are no predictable certainties.

Price Stability is a good thing for confidence and Real-World use.

Increases can often come in short bursts over time, interspersed with long periods in trading ranges. The current trading range is $1.30 to $2.50

It's called moderation. And yes, i'll keep deleting rubbish posts. Constructive criticism is welcomed, useless posts are not. Whoever feels the urge to elaborate it's "Brilliant idea" about, say, >Why not POS<, feel free to start your own thread, or even better - make your own coin and do it "the proper way". Best of luck anyway.

Also I suggest you delete posts about price. Well-managed, mature coins have a separate 'Speculation' thread. Game has one too.

I look at this Roger Ver battle as the last battle before $25k bitcoin. If Bitcoin can take down Roger's 400k Bitcoins, then it will be Mars for sure. I am giving Roger about a 2% chance of actually winning, however, I think he can put Bitcoin in a 6 month bear market in my view.

I don't think hashing power determines the real Bitcoin, only market cap and number active holder/users. Bitcoin Cash cannot replace the millions that hold Bitcoin very easily. Hell I cannot even figure out how to move my BCH without breaking out my text editor or using an Android wallet.

What do you mean by <  'Take down' Rogers 400k Bitcoins>  ? I am sure that he will retain a large holding of BTC, but of course he will be aiming to rebalance his portfolio, something like 300k BTC/ 1M BCH.

Remember BitcoinCash is also held by millions.  An airdrop of that scale has never been done before.

I would agree that Core is likely to win, but there are many unknowns dead ahead, and it has to be a probability play.  The odds vs price are pretty much even, I would say.  (85/15 against BCH)

Regarding the twitter account, we updated our twitter handle from Game_Credits to gamecredits and contacted CMC right away asking them to update it. They haven't done that yet. As for the website, I thought it was changed, but I just asked them to update it again.

Also, we're acting like a tech company releasing BETA products. No tech company mass markets their unfinished products to millions of people. That might be a management tactic in the crypto world, but it isn't one of a company aiming to become the next unicorn. You really have no idea what the management is like from the business side of gamecredits. Why? Because we're a company building proprietary products that can't possibly share everything we're working on, and we don't want to market our development because that would only lead to disaster giving our potential competitors insight onto how close we are to potential market success.

Now I have said in the past our marketing and transparency to the cryptocurrency world could be better. We had immense transparency up until about 2.5 months ago when we realized we had to buckle down and work in a bubble without giving people constant updates like we had been used to. HOWEVER, we said in the last week our transparency would be rising and from last week onward you would all get constant updates and more transparency. And guess what? Since then we've released a massive mobile MMORPG with hundreds of hours of game play USING gamecredits payments, a dedicated article regarding GameCredits was published in venturebeat with millions of active readers, we released 9 games in our web wallet for purchase with GAME(see this image below), we will be releasing another newsletter today with more updates, a post regarding the venturebeat article got hundreds of upvotes, Sergey Sholom our CEO was featured on CNBC India earning GAME free media coverage in India, AND GameCredits launched on BitBays new India exchange (one of six currencies available to trade. This all happened IN THE LAST WEEK. Give me a break, there is plenty going on, and our companies management is fucking killer. Now we will do better with transparency to the crypto world, but I think my list I just gave you proves we are.

Thanks for that Jack.  Some of the sniping is irritating, but you are absolutely following the correct line IMHO.

Bitcointalk has become a messy forum now, so I would take many comments with a pinch of salt. Anyway , reducing expectations here is going to do no harm whatsoever. It is the actual management and development that counts, not the PR which panders to speculators.
