The app is in the final approval stage in the Apple Store and the only needed step until its launch is a (hopefully) short due diligence process.

Después de detectar un par de problemas con la nueva versión, los hemos corregido y hemos publicado una actualización. Así que, si habéis descargado CROATCore Desktop en las últimas 12 horas, aseguraos de tener la última versión, 1.50/2018-01-14.

Cambios con respecto a la versión previa 1.50/2018-01-10:

PROBLEMA:
Un problema aislado introducido solamente en la versión 1.50/2018-01-10 mostraba una ventana de actualización en el caso de un cambio de saldo, que no permitía al usuario realizar operaciones con normalidad.

SOLUCIÓN:
En el caso de una actualización de saldo no se muestra la ventana de sincronización.

Estado: CORREGIDO


PROBLEMA:
Un problema aislado introducido solamente en la versión 1.50/2018-01-10 hacía que algunos usuarios tuvieran que iniciar CROATCore dos veces (no simultáneamente) para completar la sincronización inicial con el blockchain.

SOLUCIÓN:
Corregido el problema de sincronización inicial.

PROBLEMA:
La versión MacOS de CROATCore se quedaba en la carpeta de descargas y el usuario tenía que cambiar su ubicación manualmente en la carpeta de Aplicaciones, para que el programa funcionase correctamente.

SOLUCIÓN:
Se ha publicado un paquete completo de instalación para MacOS que facilita al usuario guardar la aplicación en la carpeta correcta.

Algunos comentarios sobre la nueva versión:

Algunos usuarios se han quejado que la aplicación produce una “carga de datos” cada vez que se abra, cree, o importe un monedero.

Este comportamiento es normal y esta carga también aparecía en las versiones previas, aunque el usuario no recibía ninguna información sobre ello (a través de una barra de progreso), como en la nueva versión. Más bien, en las versiones anteriores, el usuario solo veía un mensaje "Espere hasta 45 segundos" cuando realizaba el mismo tipo de operaciones, sin una retroalimentación visual.

Algunos usuarios, al intentar descargar la última versión de la aplicación han encontrado la versión antigua en el paquete de instalación. POR FAVOR, ASEGURAOS DE REFRESCAR EL CACHE DE VUESTRO NAVEGADOR PARA ACCEDER A LA ÚLTIMA VERSIÓN.

Canvis respecte la versió prèvia  1.50/2017-01-10:

After detecting a couple of bugs with the new version, we have corrected them and released it again. So, if you have downloaded your CROATCore Desktop app during the last 12 hours, make sure you download the latest version 1.50/2018-01-14.

Changes in this new version compared to the 1.50/2018-01-10:

ISSUE:
An isolated issue introduced only in version 1.50/2018-01-10 popped up a synchronization dialog upon a balance change preventing the user to carry on normal operations.

SOLUTION:
Do not display the synch pop up on balance update.

Fix Status: FIXED


ISSUE:
An isolated issue introduced only in version 1.50/2018-01-10 could cause certain users to have to start CROATCore twice (not simultaneously) to complete the initial blockchain synch.

SOLUTION:
Fix blockchain synchronization issue.

Fix Status: FIXED

ISSUE:
The MacOS version of CROATCore remains in the Downloads folder and the user has to manually change its location to the Applications folder, for the app to work correctly.

SOLUTION:
Publish a complete installation package for MacOS which makes it easy for the user to save the app in the right folder.

Some notes on the new version:

Some of our users complained that the new version causes a "load of data" each time a wallet is opened, created or imported.

This is normal behavior as this loading of data happened in the other versions as well except that the user was not informed of it (via a progress bar) as in the current version. Rather, in the previous versions the user would only see a "Please wait up to 45 seconds" message when performing the same kinds of operations without a visual feedback.

Some of our users reported that upon downloading the new version they found the old version in the package. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO REFRESH YOUR BROWSER CACHE IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE LATEST VERSION.

Alguns usuaris tenien problemes per importar els seus moneders al CROATCore a travès de les claus públiques i privades.
Malgrat haver introduït correctament les claus, CroatCore donava un error de claus invàlides.

SOLUCIÓ:
Les claus correctament introduïdes són acceptades sempre.

PROBLEMA:
Alguns usuaris no podien obrir els seus moneders amb la contrasenya del moneder. Malgrat haver introduït correctament la contrasenya, CROATCore no la reconeixia i la marcava com a incorrecta.

SOLUCIÓ:
Donada la complexitat d’un contenidor, el sistema necessitaria a vegades un llarg període de temps per reconstruir la seva estructura interna.
El procés de càrrega del moneder ara presenta a l’usuari una barra de progrés que l’informa dels passos realitzats per carregar el moneder i accepta la contrasenya introduïda correctament.

Estat: CORREGIT

PROBLEMA:
La pantalla de recuperar moneder (a travès de les seves claus) no escondia la nova contrasenya escollida.

SOLUCIÓ:
Emmascarar la contrasenya proporcionada.

PROBLEMA:
Tancar CROATCore de manera errònia o sortir de forma inesperada de l’aplicació feia que l’arxiu contenedor (el moneder) es quedés amb un nom diferent del que apareixia al llistat de moneders utilitzats recentment (per exemple, es podia afegir una extensió “.tmp” o “.temp”).

SOLUCIÓ:
El programa intenta detectar aquesta situació i canvia el nom de l’arxiu al seu nom original.

PROBLEMA:
El procés de mineria de CROATCore no utilitzava tota la capacitat de les CPUs amb un alt número de fils (threads) disponibles per mineria.

SOLUCIÓ:
Una configuració ULTRA pels usuaris que volen dedicar la majoria dels recursos de la seva CPU a la mineria.

Estat: CORREGIT

PROBLEMA:
Després d’enviar CROATs i crear una etiqueta per una adreça concreta, alguns camps s’haurien d’esborrar automàticament, per una millor experiència pel usuari.

SOLUCIÓ:
Desprès d’un pagament, s’esborra la etiqueta i els camps pertinents.

Estat: CORREGIT

PROBLEMA:
Una adreça inicial predeterminada de piscina de mineria es va tornar obsoleta però es va mantenir com l’URL predeterminat de CROATCore per a la mineria en grup. Per aquest motiu, es donaven errors de connexió a aquesta URL concreta quan els usuaris iniciaven la mineria amb la configuració predeterminada.

SOLUCIÓ:
S’ha canviat l’URL predeterminat de mineria en grup a una piscina oficial actual.

Estat: CORREGIT

PROBLEMA:
Alguns usuaris van ser afectats per un problema en CROATCore que causava un missatge extra d’error de pagament fallat quan el pagament es realitzava correctament.

SOLUCIÓ:
Una vegada confirmat el pagament, el sistema es reinicialitza correctament per evitar qualsevol missatge potencial d’error de sincronització.

Estat: CORREGIT

PROBLEMA:
En alguns casos, mentre que la porció del dimoni (daemon) de CROATCore descarregava un gran nombre de blocs per sincronitzar la seva base de dades, un nou bloc es descarregaria i el sistema no actualitzava la barra de progrés amb la informació recentment adquirida.

SOLUCIÓ:
La barra de progrés es completa de manera dinàmica per mostrar també els nous blocs entrants.

PROBLEMA:
La versió CROATCore per MacOS es queda a la carpeta de descàrregues i l’usuari ha de canviar-la manualment a la carpeta d’Aplicacions, per un funcionament correcte.

ALTRES COMENTARIS:

Alguns programes anti-malware / antivirus com ara ESET-NOD32, Ikarus, eGambit, etc., són coneguts per produir falsos positius de “possible programa maliciós” o “aplicació potencialment no desitjada” en instal·lar / executar CROATCore. Aquestes aplicacions utilitzen heurístiques de “reputació” i “comportament del programa” que poden marcar el programa com a maliciós perquè interpreten certes seccions del codi (com l’obertura de ports) com a “sospitoses”. Si heu descarregat CROATCore des del nostre web, podeu estar segurs que no té cap codi maliciós, però si el vostre antivirus dona un fals positiu i la vostra còpia prové del nostre web, haureu de donar-li permissions manualment o crear una excepció. Els programes de mineria solen marcar-se com a virus o codis maliciosos per molts antivirus.

New seed nodes have been added.

ISSUE:
Some users were affected by a bug in CROATCore that prevented them to import their wallets via the public and private keys.
Even though the keys were entered correctly, CROATCore would erroneously report that the entered keys would be invalid.

SOLUTION:
Keys are always accepted if entered correctly.

Fix status: FIXED.

ISSUE:
Some users were affected by a bug in CROATCore that prevented them to access their wallets via the wallet password.
Even though the password would be entered correctly, CROATCore would erroneously report that the used password could not be used as it was marked as being incorrect.

SOLUTION:
Given the complexity of a container, the system would sometimes need a long period of time to rebuild its internal structure.
As such, the process of loading the wallet now presents a user a progress bar informing them of the steps completed to load the wallet and accept the correctly entered password.

Fix status: FIXED.

ISSUE:
The Wallet Restore screen (via its keys) did not hide the new password selected.

SOLUTION:
Mask the supplied password.

Fix status: FIXED

ISSUE:
Improperly shutting down CROATCore or an unexpected application exit would sometimes cause the container file (wallet) to result in a different name than the one listed in the recent history list (i.e., an extension of “.tmp” or “.temp” would be added).

SOLUTION:
Attempt to detect this scenario and rename the file to its original name when first starting CROATCore.

Fix status: FIXED

ISSUE:
The miner portion of CROATCore would not make full use of CPUs that have a really high number of threads available for mining.

SOLUTION:
Provide an ULTRA setting for mining in order to be used by users who want to dedicate most of their CPU resources to mining.

Fix status: FIXED

ISSUE:
After sending CROATs and creating a label for a particular address, certain fields would need to be automatically cleared out for a better UI experience.

SOLUTION:
After a payment, clear the label and pertinent payment fields.

Fix status: FIXED

ISSUE:
An initial default mining pool address became obsolete but remained the default URL for CROATCore for mining. As such, connection errors to that particular URL would be shown when users would start mining with default settings.

SOLUTION
Change the default mining pool to a current official pool.

Fix status: FIXED

ISSUE:
Certain users were affected by a bug in CROATCore that caused users to see an extra “Unsuccessful payment” error message even though the payment would go through successfully.

SOLUTION:
Once a payment is confirmed, re-initialize the system correctly to avoid any potentially un’synched error messages.

Fix status: FIXED

ISSUE:
Some users were affected by the fact that while the daemon portion of CROATCore would download a large number of blocks to synchronize its database, new block would come in and the system would not update the progress bar with the newly arrived data.

SOLUTION:
Dynamically change the progress bar completion screen to reflect the newly arrived blocks as well.

Fix status: FIXED

ISSUE:
The MacOS version of CROATCore remains in the Downloads folder and the user has to manually change its location to the Applications folder, for the app to work correctly.

OTHER COMMENTS:

Some anti-malware / antivirus software such as ESET-NOD32, Ikarus, eGambit etc. are known to produce “potential malicious software” or “potentially unwanted application” false positives when installing/running CROATCore. These applications use “reputation” and “software behavior” heuristics that may flag software as malicious because they interpret certain sections of code (such as port opening) as “suspicious”. If you downloaded CROATCore from our website, you can be sure it is malware free, but if your AV software is reporting a false positive and your copy came from our website, you will need to manually allow it or white-list the program. Mining programs usually will be flagged as malware or viruses by many antivirus.

We have recently noticed a significant increase in the total hashrate and subsequently mining difficulty in the Croat network. This is due to various reasons:

-We’ve had a few new private and public pools enter the network, with a significant number of miners.
-Knowledge about Croat is expanding exponentially
-We are receiving more and more messages a sign that we have more and more users.
-More and more users are offering their help
-Visits to our website have increased exponentially
-We are having contacts with the press and soon we’ll see more and more information about Croat spreading.
-We’re in contact with more and more businesses which want to accept Croat as a means of payment.
-We’ve reached more than 600 votes on Change.org for Croat to be accepted in exchanges.
-We’ve restarted contacts with exchanges and we’ll update about this soon
-Transactions with Croat are already being done in the “real world”, either by selling products / services, or by private exchanges with fiat currency or other cryptos.

All this information shows us that we’re on the right track. We believe we have significantly more solo miners, but also “professionals”, with very powerful machines. We might be surprised by Croat’s evolution very soon. Little by little, the fruit of all the work and patience will show.

Now is the time for all the users to show their belief in Croat. Now is the time to keep those computers mining (in pools if they’re not very powerful), even if the return is not what you’ve been used to. It’s no use to start complaining publicly that it’s not worth mining anymore. This will only harm the coin. It’s great that we have so much interest. It’s great that so many people are putting their machines at work for the Croat. Would you rather have 100.000 coins that aren’t worth anything, or 1000 or even 100 that are worth a lot?

The Android app was a great success, working without problems, and users are very satisfied. You’re still on time to take part in the giveaway and get some free Croats.

We’re currently working on a new version of the CROATCore Desktop App, which will bring bug fixes, more seed nodes and some features that the community requested. We’re also working on the iOS app.

Apart from that, we have started again contacts with exchanges and we’ll also ask for the help of the community regarding this matter.

We appreciate your interest and your eagerness for updates. While we do announce every important news here, please note that this thread is not our main communications channel. We do recommend everyone to subscribe to the news feed on our website (which you can find here: http://croat.cat/en/news/) and our social channels on Facebook and Twitter (see first post and our website).

We prefer giving real news when they happen, not write hundreds of empty posts pretending to be news. And if writing 50 posts in a single thread for a coin that is only 2 months old means “once every six months”, then so be it! We're aiming for quality, not quantity. This does not mean that we're ignoring our users. We're constantly answering emails and messages from all our social channels. But we hope you'll understand that developing and promoting the coin is much more useful and efficient than replying to every single message in this thread. If something requires our answer, it will be answered as soon as possible. Unfounded attacks and trolls will be elegantly ignored.

We are working hard to optimize the apps, with the help of our kind and patient beta-testers. We are promoting Croat directly and through our ambassadors, more locally than internationally, since, as we've said before, we believe that the key for Croat's success is in getting it adopted here, in Catalonia, at least at the beginning. Otherwise, it would be no different compared to other “Catalan” coins that have been launched before and failed. We want Croat to be a high quality coin / product / system, with all that this implies (technically, economically, socially etc). We're here for the long run, not for some quick and easy money. We truly believe that Croat has huge potential and that it will be an extremely useful tool to help Catalans. Again, as we've said before, this approach may mean a slower development of the coin, but we believe it is one that offers the best chance for success.

We're at least as eager as everyone else to announce getting listed in exchanges, launching the apps, and a lot of other great news. We're working hard to get there!
