1070 is good for mining, these days mining is not going to critically affect your PC life expectancy. If your electricity cost is not that expensive and you are ok with small amount of mining outcome, I recommend mining.

There are some PSU's with more cables on it. + Some Gpu doesn't need full power connections, works fine on only 8pin power supply.

Some of my friends invested.. Was that a scam?

4-5 mining rigs with 6way rx580.

My mining rig, it has 10cm distance.

I'll choose 570. Possibility of 4gb ram issue is very small, PoS conversion will be completed before that happens.

Maybe word 'Dual' in graphic card name means 'Dual fan cooling', if it's not a real dual-gpu like 295x2. Many mining rig runs on 4gb ram, 8gb is sufficient. You should consider that Windows only support max 8 cards per gpu manufacturer. It seems that AMD is going to make drivers that supports 12+ gpus on Windows, but you should check on it.

It's not recommended to build a farm only for miming Monero. A month before, as monero became expensive it was quite profitable, but it's not very good now. If you really want to mine Monero, build mining rig with Ryzen + Rx580. Mining Monero with Ryzen and ethereum with Rx580 is one of the best options for now.

I'll choose 1060 or 1080ti. 1070 was a quite good options when it was very hard to afford GPU's like 3 months ago, but it's performance and cost is ambiguous right now.

You must consider cost-effectiveness on GPu mining because you can run several GPUs parallel. That's why many people use RX480, RX580 or GTX1060 instead of high-end gpu's like titan or so..

It's the result of Byz fork. Block time 30s -> 14s and block rewards 5ETH -> 3ETH. It made 15%-20% increase in ethereum mining profit.

Mining with cpu, even with less cores.. It will make nearly no profits. You can try mining Monero, which is known as most profitable for CPU mining. Download mining tools like xmr-stak-cpu.
|
|
|
|
|
Try DDU, check PSU status and check for riser card problems.
|
|
|
|
|
RX480 is good if you can afford at low price, but it will be easy to get RX580, as RX480 is not being manufactured anymore. You chose right GPU for ETH mining.

Will this work on Ubuntu?
I am running Ethos on all my rigs.
Can I use this to start mining btg when its launched ?
regards CrytominerZA
Hi, it supports only windows now. You can use source code above if you can use python on your linux machine. If MPH supports BTG, you can mine BTG with this tool because it uses EWBF miner.

RX460 or 560 is cheap and not bad for mining some minor coins like XMR, but I recommend Rx580 even you couldn't afford many of them. It show good hashrate on Ethash, and it's one of the most cots efffective gpus.

Thanks to Byz, we got 15~20% profit increase and free from difficult bomb for at least 1 year.

It seems that you're using AMD machines, but OC setting is quite similar in Nvidia. This my 1060 setting for ETH: core +0 / mem +800 for ZEC(equihash) : core +150 / mem +400
As MATHReX said, point is you need more core OC for BTG mining.

Hashrate is very low, never profitable unless you could afford a lot of android machines for free with free electricity.

Electricity fee seems quite high, but it is profitable right now. Check for Whattomine.com, you can check profitability by setting your elec. price.
