I don't know and did not read about DeepOnion much but the way I understand it is just another privacy coin using the Tor network or isn't it? Did they built their own protocol or still using existing ones.

Hello there, you probably know me from Kryptopy. The project is not dead we just decided to do it another way using our own blockchain instead of Ethereum.

This is not an announcement about our blockchain at all, and chances are we will not go ICO with it. However it will be open source so everyone can use it. It is currently 75% ready and we are planning to launch the testnet next month.

We are looking for people to help in the development in various areas. However our main needs right now are :

- Networking P2P, we use encrypted sockets so we dont have to use TOR or I2P. Programming language is Python3. Excellent knowledge of networking and sockets is required. We do not exclude programming that part in C/C++ with bindings.

- Electron developers. We based our wallet on electron for its cross-platforms quality and are using angular5 as the rendering technology.

After 4 days of deployment nightmare of our new contract with Rob our CTO at Kryptopy Inc, I decided to share our experience with the new Byzantium upgrade of Ethereum, Truffle, Geth, and so on.

We wish to share our tips with other blockchain / ethereum developer here to avoid them to relive the same nightmare as we did.

First of all, Truffle is a good environment, we like it… for testing. If you want to deploy to mainnet, we definitely not recommend it.

The reason is that you will get tons of errors related to the fact that Truffle cannot cope with all the changes and for a reason. There are just too much. So rule #1 use truffle to test your contracts, version them, make sure they work the way they are intended to. But do not use it to deploy.

Took us days to understand it. Maybe with the new upgrade that was released today this has changed, however we still wouldn’t use it for that purpose.
So first step for a successful contract deployment to Ethereum as of today (October 31st 2017) = Upgrade everything. Old versions simply won’t work with the Byzantium upgrade. This means : geth, parity, and whatever else you are using on a daily basis for your smart contracts. For geth, use version 1.7.2 as a minimum.

If you are patient and want to syncronize with geth and do all your deployment from there the old school way, make sure you have plenty of memory and I mean plenty! Less than 16GB of ram and without a decent SSD drive with a lot of space you will run into a lot of problems. Such as the infamous memory leak that is still not fixed (I ran into it again today).

Best way to do it?

1- Develop your contracts using solidity (latest version) and truffle (yes thats good for that!)
2- Test and re-test, if you have a budget make them audited !
3- Merge your contracts with a tool like: sol-merger (npm i -g sol-merger)
4- Use the online ethereum compiler (https://ethereum.github.io/browser-solidity/)
5- Once compiled, click on details, it will give you a javascript with the ABI and Compiled code of your contract.
6- You can use parity, contract tab, deploy paste your contract ABI and compiled code, do not forget to tick advanced parameters if you have parameters you need to include (per example wallet address)
7- Set your gas, deploy and enjoy !

Yes, for the "pre-ico" process its better to go one on one than pesting people with spam. I think a good thing to do would be to remove that pre-ICO phase and replace it with a longer ICO process with bonuses for early investor on a 2 month period.

In fact what would even be better is to bring the institutional model on board in some way like this :

1- Seed Stage
2- Round A (milestone1)
3- Round B (product release)
4- Round C (based on results)

Or something similar with different pricings. That way it can communicate with different kind of investors at different stages. It would avoid spam, a lot of scams too as it wouldnt be possible to get the money quickly without proofs.

Well that is very nice of you to write such a thing after I wrote we were not a coin at all. You may have the legendary status but with such posts who can take you seriously?

After having a pre-ICO experience myself and knowing a couple of other projects who did. I do totally agree with you. It is better to go for a seed round or to an institutional investor in the so-called "pre-ICO". Soon there will be a pre-pre-pre-pre-ICO of ICO

And that is more than likely what we will do. Even if we sold, we are currently checking with private and institutional investors who are opened to cryptos technologies to back us up for the ICO stage.

I think that doing so helps:

1- Secure trust in future investors
2- In future exchange negotiation
3- Ensure you are legally compliant so nobody gonna lose money if the government goes after you

Hello there I was curious if you are a buyer or have experience in running ICOs to get opinion of as many people as possible about pricing in the industry.

I will then compile the information and make it available freely on our website in the shape of a report to help other adjust their ICO & Pre-ICO pricing to the market.

As we get close to the end of our Pre-ICO we decided to make special terms for large buyers.

Here is why :

1- Since the beginning of the Pre-ICO the Smart Contract is capped at 10 eth as we wanted to add variety to the market.
2- Because of #1 it is currently impossible to send more than 10 ether to the Smart Contract.

We did this for various reason but the main one was a Security concern. With all the hacks that happened during ICOs we prefer refunding 10 ether rather than 10,000 if something ever happens. Thankfully, our server security did its work and so far "fingers crossed" no hack have been made successfully. There was a lot of attempt but none succeeded.

Well I don't say everything is BS in their report. However we've been graded an F and I would really appreciate to know how can we be graded an F on security level ?

We got 1000 hacking attempts on our pre-ico website (at the minimum) and nobody ever penetrated the server. Judging the "coin" project is also strange to me as we never pushed our Coin as a coin. It is not a coin at all in fact we just use the technology because it is the best way to do what we are doing especially that we want to sensibilize the "untouched market" about cryptocurrencies.

I usually don't pay attention to these kind of ratings. But giving a rating of F without explanation or contacting the owner of the project to warn them and give them a chance to meet your criterias can be very damaging to any businesses out there.

Especially in the shape it is presented, it made me think it was a very professional rating by Securecoin Capital (which I never heard of but the name is cool I admit) but I was let down once I requested access.

I will rewrite it here as it is for public interest. The pricing on the website is for all investment below 10 eth. We did put a minimum of 0.4 ether for the pre-sale.
It is 200 KPY per ether + 32.5% instant = 265 KPY instant then you apply the promotion after.

Per example 1.3 eth will give you 344.5 tokens + the extra 22.5% at the end of the pre-ico.

After all bonus compounded, that is 0.67$ per token which is par to the average price sale for such a project. I do really appreciate your comment as it allow me to explain the pricing better.
