1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 20, 2017, 04:07:08 AM
Boys and girls- this is what we call a scam.  This project was pumped harder than Sasha Grey's ass on the socials and YouTube- pretty sure the pumpers got bounties.  Pretty sure many idiots got suckered into this.  Pretty sure investors couldn't trade their tokens according to their terms, tokens "on ice," yet insiders dumped on ED...pretty sure this is a scam run by incompetent people who have big dreams and lack skill or work ethic to achieve anything beyond employing pumpers and getting idiots to send them ETH.

Lol.. damn, where were you guys before/during the ICO sale? I could have used the help to spread the word.

Just taking one look at these jokers shows how amateur, incompetent and greedy they are. But people these days are so blinded by greed to find the next ethereum.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 19, 2017, 04:22:26 AM
People keep asking why is there someone selling plr for a little bit less than ICO price. To me it's damn obvious, people sacrificing a few ETH to make it look like the price will drop so they can spread FUD and buy cheap. It's not like they are selling at much less than the ICO price anyway. It's a trick to make people sell cheap.

This project could be huge, possibly the biggest thing easily this year. I think enough people didn't hear about pillar like the other big ICOs. They didn't list on ICO countdown that's why.

The problem is on the face of it the project sounds boring and small. It is only when you read the white paper and look into the development team that you are blown away.

Too bad you can't elaborate on that because you're either on the Pillar team or have no idea what you're talking about. Care to explain?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 19, 2017, 02:33:09 AM
Pillar ICO landed during the crypto market bloodbath which is both good and bad.

Last days we all have faced some fears that were probably induced by greedy BTC miners waiting for cheap Bitcoins. It weakened a whole market a bit including the price of ETH. The risk of BTC split goes away for that moment and crypto market slightly begins to recover. Although in the meantime a successful-to-be Pillar ICO didn’t hit the max. hard cap.

More than a half of available Pillar tokens has already gone on ice (for 10 years). This is a very good news as it makes the price possible to multiply x2 in the very short-term. It’s strange that some people were selling PLR tokens below ICO price on some small exchanges but there are always weak hands around.
It indeed is very strange to see people selling it for far below the ICO price on ED. Literally, it's a third of the ICO price over there and I've been backing up the truck.

If you really are The Clif, just wanted to say how thankful many of us are for all your astute observations of the past and much of what is to come in the future.

That's not clif_high. I confirmed with clif that it's not him

The token sale is completed, thank you very much to all participants! More information is coming from the team soon! The final tally:

Congrats!

I think it is good amount of money in these conditions Wink

David Siegel already said on youtube live during the ICO launch that without 50 million dollars, it's gonna be tough to get Pillar launched into any product. 50 MILLION?? Why? Because they have no developers,
no lines of code, no game plan on how to really scale this idea from his imagination into reality. So basically you invested money into a dream.

Who needs 50 million dollars when they have the brains and motivation to launch a real large scale product? Last I checked it didn't cost millions of dollars to start writing a few lines of code. WTF?

https://youtu.be/PO3aIuMGNVk?t=2586 (already downloaded and archived this video) - The whole stream is basically David begging for money and if you already invested, to invest more. They never talked about the product once. Their main dev wasn't even present to answer any questions. You can see how David gets more and more irritated throughout the whole stream when asked about anything other than money.

https://youtu.be/PO3aIuMGNVk?t=9396 - Here David admits that they've only been working at this for 9 weeks. 9 weeks? Are you kidding me? And by 'working at this' he means the money grab ICO, not the so-called "Pillar project" at all. In fact, he's clueless on how any of it would actually work.

https://youtu.be/PO3aIuMGNVk?t=16347 - Look at him insult his investors when they're requesting some support. This is the kind of person who will tell you to fuck off right after you've given him your hard-earned ETH.

It gets especially pathetic when the people present are asked to introduce themselves and they say that they're only involved with the ICO launch.

I've never seen a more amateur looking team/website and they received free money (I'm assuming most of it was their own money to hype it up in the beginning. That's why they were so DESPERATE to recoup losses)

The bottom line is that David has no team, no real whitepaper, NOTHING. If you invested in this, I'm sorry but there's a very high chance you've lost your money already. There will never be a product.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 17, 2017, 09:36:18 AM
so right now is better to buy token at etherdelta rather then directly to pillar right ? more cheaper.

I'd say so. If it's cheaper on etherdelta, it's better to buy there instead of the ico. There's a lot of people who want to get rid of their Pillar already
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 17, 2017, 06:12:27 AM
Again from the dev team incase anyone missed it.

"A few people have sold a VERY few PLR at a loss on Ether Delta. This does not mean anyone has to follow them over the cliff. This is not a mistake of the developers. It has already been stated days in advance that the pre-sale tokens would not be available until after the token-sale was over, but that token-sale tokens would be available after the minimum conditions of the smart contract were met, which was early in the morning. The contract cannot simply be changed in the middle of the token-sale."

Also wanted to add that Pillar doesn't control Ether Delta.  We can't force Ether Delta to remove any market.  We don't endorse Ether Delta.  Trade at your own risk.

The smart money is getting the hell out because they realize this project is a bunch of hot air. I wouldn't invest until you see the actual price of the Pillar token
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 16, 2017, 06:11:21 PM
Incase anyone is confused about the newbie account talking about the min cap.  The min cap was 8 million dollars.  It was reached within the first hour of the sale.
yes thats true, so dont be bother, pillar sale is on fire. it will be sold in few more hours just be patient. pillar is really good and and very nice ico for everyone so wait for further announcement regarding this.

Uh.. how is Pillar "really good?" They don't have a single line of code and their dev doesn't have any experience with large scale projects. All they have is an idea, a website and a hand open for free ICO money. How does anyone consider this a strong project?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 16, 2017, 04:40:29 PM
Here is the part of that email:

After a rough start, where our servers were hit so hard we couldn’t change the web page, we finally got it going and took in $12 million in less than an hour. We are honored to have received purchases of Pillar tokens from over 7,000 people around the world. The average purchase is for 11 ether, making our token sale one of the largest grass-roots crowdfundings, ever!

Our Secret Weapon
Most token sales are open for 4 weeks. Ours is open for 60 hours. Why? Because we expected to run a “wholesale” campaign, where big buyers take most of our offering in minutes, like other recent big ICOs. Instead, it’s been the opposite - eager new and small “retail” investors piling into our project because they believe so much in our mission and want to support us. One guy even bought tokens for his young daughter to have when she grows up! In that context, it would be far better for us to run a 4-week campaign. But we don’t have 4 weeks, we have something better:

You.

We are asking our token holders to do everything they can over the next two days to at least double their own purchase by reaching out to people they know and telling them to buy pillars, because the more money we have the less risk for the project and the better for the ecosystem later. This is our only chance to raise money. We’ll never have another opportunity like we do right now.

Please, blog, call, talk, make videos, do whatever you can to get more people to buy Pillar tokens. If everyone reading this can get 30 more ether in sales, we will have enough to be a formidable, worldwide, open-source project. We’re counting on you to double our take in the next 24 hours.

We Changed Our Collective Mind
Well, David changed his mind - about blocking Americans from the web site. Americans can now see the regular site, read the terms of service, and purchase tokens on the Purchase page. Go try it!

Yeah they'll never have another opportunity because ICO regulations will happen. And allowing Americans in is an open invitation to the SEC!

Nail in the coffin for this project. Hope you didn't lose too much money!

I invested in the ICO because it seems like a good project but the email I got begging for more money is super amateur and is making me question this whole thing.  And now they opened it to the US as well half way through the ICO?  Very amateur.

LOL that is precious... PLEASE paste the email here.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 16, 2017, 03:28:45 PM
Problem is like many ICOs they don't have ANY product at all. What you are part of is a crowdsale so they can make the product they dream will transform the world. The developer basically has interesting ideas about websites usage and has written some books on it but after listening to him talk he admits himself they have actually zero code done...zero. You are funding someone with an idea, a cool idea but just an idea.

It looks like Pillar won't hit their minimum cap. I assume they will not launch their project and issue refunds to all contributors?

How is the schedule for refunds looking? It is only right that you refund if you don't hit your min cap.

This will not hit its minimum cap. You should issue refunds to your investors.

What about the Pillar Project. Actually, I am very excited for Pillar Campaign. For that, I want to know the present condition of Pillar Project.
I'm too excited on this campaign. I haven't read through all this. I just have a question, how long will this campaign last?

Are you really asking those questions ? Why are you guys having an avatar and signature of Pillar Coin if you know so few about it...?
I don't get it. ^^

They made accounts long ago to spam this thread and create imaginary hype around this project. They also fill the thread up with spam in order to keep any negative posts away from would-be investors.

That's why they don't have a Slack channel. Because there is too much negativity surrounding Pillar after what the founder David did to Lykke, backstabbing them basically. If they did have a Slack
channel the truth would get out.

 Roll Eyes

As stated already, and as you already know, the token is priced in ETH. This does not fluctuate as USD price fluctuates. 1 ETH = 1 ETH. Period. There is an already audited and verified smart contract, and token distribution is automatic.

Do you even have an ETH smart contract set up for this or do you plan to send all contributors their PLR tokens by hand? How long will that take?

 Huh

You don't know what an ETH contract is? Does your team even know how to code?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 15, 2017, 03:57:18 PM

If you bought Pillar tokens when ETH was $182, you thought you were getting 1820 Pillar tokens. But now that ETH is $176, you will end up with 1760 Pillar tokens when they finally send it to you after the sale is over.

You have lost out on tokens because the price of ETH is dropping and the Pillar guys don't know how to write a smart contract in Ethereum. Ask them for their contract code.

They will send you PLR tokens very slowly, by hand, manually. And as the price of ETH drops, you will get less and less PLR tokens. You essentially lose money investing in this ICO. (which is a scam anyway)

the more ETH drops this weekend, the less tokens you all will receive during this ICO. If you really want to invest, wait until they hit an exchange

Price is set for ICO. So it doesn't matter if ETH price goes up/down, you'll get 1 PLR token per 0.0005 ETH.

IT does. Cheaper eth = cheaper pillar in ico.

dude. eth/plr price is solid. I can see plr on myethwallet already. Exactly what I paid for.

PLR tokens are issued after the sale is over. It says on their website. If you participated in the pre-sale a couple of weeks ago, you would have PLR tokens now. But those who buy in the ICO this weekend will have to wait until Monday.

"Assuming the sale passes its minimum, the smart contract will issue tokens when the sale is over."

Ok, Why it is wrote on the official sale website :
Quote
Price per token: 0.0005 ether (same as the presale)
if the price is not the same Huh

The base price is the same.

Man.. this is the worst ICO ever. If the price of ETH keeps dropping, you will have less and less tokens by the time the ICO contract sends you your worthless Pillar tokens.

This is how they are handling the sale -

"Assuming the sale passes its minimum, the smart contract will issue tokens when the sale is over. At that time, we’ll send instructions on how to see your tokens in your MyEtherWallet. The newsletter will tell you how to get access to your tokens later. Remember - your tokens are safe on the blockchain, and your private key helps you move them later.

Don’t contact us asking where your tokens are - that’s the next step. Wait and watch this page or the newsletter for more information. "

Why not post this from your main account as it will make it slightly believable.

Basically what this says is this - as soon as the sale is over in 60 hours, they can dump all of the eth they received. Once ETH price is lowered by their sales, they can send less tokens to contributors.

Join the Pillar team live Smiley :

Pillar Token Sale Mission Control LIVE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO3aIuMGNVk

The only thing I got from this youtube live so far is that the team members look unexcited (because they're not going to run off with as money as David) or nervous to have their faces attached to this project,
and that David has very young children meaning a younger wife who probably demands large sums of money to stick around. Just my opinion based on observation.

So it's no wonder he stole Lykke project's idea and whipped up this scam so quickly. Look at how poorly designed the website is. There is no whitepaper, only a "gray paper", and there are no decent devs attached to this project. Check out Vitor Py's Github. https://github.com/vitorpy

The bottom line is that this is a quick money grab and investors will see zero returns from this.

Just remember rule #2 of this ICO on their page: When purchasing Pillar tokens, you agree to binding arbitration and you give up the right to take part in any class-action lawsuit.
