OH NO, 401.18

Did you fail?

Why look at the market tickers when we have this thread Cheesy

Reminds me of this:

UPDATE:
@Sevvero, please give me a price update, it's been 5 minutes already!!!
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: $415...$410...how much more? Still want to lose money? Then keep hodling on: September 19, 2014, 09:24:09 AM
I predict the price at $0 within 37 hours, when I will buy all BTC in existence for nothing, and I will hoard them forever. I just hope the FBI will sell me their ex-silkroad BTC for nothing. All mining devices will be permanently hacked to mine for me and also hoard forever. There, no more supply, therefore no more bitcoin in less than 37 hours, end of story and discussion. SELL NOW!

P.S.
Nice troll thread btw Smiley
3  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - innovative professional cryptocurrency cloud mining service on: September 09, 2014, 11:43:22 AM
I realize this may have been answered in a different post, but the thread is 100+ pages, so if someone (especially nicehash) has already answered, please forgive me.

So the question is this - why does the NH pool request work restarts so often? Even when I'm hashing the same order (I know for sure because there was only one active one and all miners on the pool were assigned to it), the pool requests work restart every 10 seconds or so. This has dramatic effect on the average hash rate. For example I have a really stable 3.5 TH on regular pools, but on NH with all the work restart requests, it drops down to 2.9-3.1. So this actually means that any increase in pay-per-GH over a regular pool will be negated by the significant decrease in your rig speed.

Couldn't it be adjusted so that there is no work restarts unless you change the order you are hashing for, or something similar? See the screenshots, work restarts 10-12 seconds apart.

I buy stuff from Ebay all the time, even from places in the states that are the farthest from me. It just depends on how the sender sends the items, they can send with the full price value or they can mark it down. Most companies in the US who sell stuff over the internet either mark the price down or charge you the tax, if they charge you tax it costs you nothing when it gets to your door.

So really it depends on the company who's sending it.

Unfortunately I can't recoup the $12k plus the $2100 for duty and taxes and I am not about to take a loss on a brand new product, so I will take the risk. I have already informed KNC Miner so they are aware and kept in the loop.

I do sincerely wish you good luck with the refund.

Still, I was talking about shipments overseas. US to Canada and vise-verse is easy, as a lot of US and CA companies do that and have experience. But ask a US company to estimate customs charges to EU, or China, or Middle East. Or ask a EU company to estimate customs tax to anywhere outside of EU... There are 193 UN recognized countries... It's simply impossible (or rather very expensive for a company to research) until you, as an end-user, get the bill Smiley

EDIT:
I'm not defending KNC in any way (not after the wait the forced me to endure), all I'm saying is that for any such equipment it would be good to ask how it is being declared at customs and do research for your country on how much you're expected to pay for import. It's not directed at you, it's generic advice for all our miner buddies out there Wink
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 22, 2014, 07:24:25 PM
I may have to ask UPS to return to sender when my KNC gets here. I just found out from a B1 Canadian receiver they had to pay an additional $2100 in taxes and duties to UPS, unfortunately I can't forgo this as I would not be able to recover this cost.

Pfff... you may return it to sender, but good luck getting a refund this way. A better option, I think, is to sell it (albeit a bit cheaper) quickly to someone who is willing to also pay the customs tax. But still, you should wait until you get the invoice from UPS, you may just slip through Wink

For anyone else receiving this kind of equipment from overseas (doesn't matter in which direction)- most companies can't estimate what you would pay in customs for your units. I had this exact situation last year when receiving from BFL, I had to pay customs for my order when coming from US to EU. Since each country has very, and I mean very complex customs laws, it's more or less unpredictable for businesses even if they are willing to give you an exact quote. And don't even get me started on shipments from China... Depending on where you are, you can pay from nothing to 200% import tax... So always keep this one in mind Wink
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: GAWMiner Hashlet on: August 22, 2014, 07:05:49 PM
with knc about to ship there 400MH machines,i cannot see this as a investment opotunity as network difficulty for ltc will go through the roof, we are talking weeks i think

First batch of Titan is 300 MH, according to KNC, and only 2nd batch will be 400 MH. Still, at $10,000 a piece for the first batch, and the chips wafers having just left for the packaging factory, I'd say a similar investment ($10,000) is right now better spent on Hashlets.

Simple calculation:
1. Titan 2nd batch (what you can order right now) - $7000 + VAT if you are in EU - 400 MH unconfirmed - unknown delivery date, especially for batch 2
2. Hashlets - $7000 buys you 437 MH (no VAT, no customs, no nothing) - immediate delivery and hashing - higher payouts from ZenPool at the moment

If GAW continues to be legit, I'd take their deal any day. And believe me, I've been a passionate KNC customer, but GAW/Zen is the thing right now.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 22, 2014, 06:56:45 PM
Yes I am a Batch 2 customer.
This is means B2 by KNC's standards as they don't count the introductory offer to their KNC customers as B1 and the next offer to everyone as B2, instead they counted the introductory offer and the offer to everyone else as B1 units, then in late Nov or early Dec they started selling B2 units, which is what I ordered and should be here on Monday, it was shipped from Sweden yesterday. It's already in the US. Smiley

Actually they count the introductory as Batch 0 ($10,000), then the $12-grand one as Batch 1, and then Batch 2 is Dec-Feb orders again for $10,000. I'm guessing then you're indeed Batch 2. Any willingness to share first three digits of your order number? Just so we know where we're at. I will understand if you don't Smiley

P.S.
I'm 189xx (B2) myself and still not shipped, or even "in production".

So what's the latest on connecting PC power supplies to the Neptune's, what is the general consensuses on what we use?

My Neptune was shipped yesterday and will arrive on Monday so I need to get a move on with respect to power. Smiley

Thanks,

Are you batch 2? There is an ongoing discussion whether KNC shipped anything form batch 2 (here, as well as on KNC forums) like their announcement said, and if you are you would be the first confirmed one.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: GAWMiner Hashlet on: August 22, 2014, 05:26:02 PM
I bought 2 hashlets by 1MH just to try it out. The payouts for ZenPool are abnormally higher than mining any altcurrency. My best calculations show a ROI within 50 days, which is better than any currently available, or even proposed, miner (but only if you use ZenPool). So I'd be a bit weary of all of this, as it looks too good to be true, but I think I can risk for another 25 or even 50 MH, while they are still paying out. Who's to say it may even truly ROI Wink

A note of caution: You can't sell your Hashlets. So once you've bought them, that's it. There is a proposed "market" for buying and selling (I suppose something akin of CEX.IO) but it's in the "upcoming" section for now.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 05, 2014, 04:39:10 PM
That's nearly 5Th at under 2500 watts. Still speculation given that other factors have remained the same; ie. same number of chips per unit, etc.

A lot of calculations done pretty fast by the community. I don't think, however, Jupiter and Neptune can be compared so directly - we have no idea at what clock speeds the Neptune chips will run. Though I am almost certain it will not be the same clock as the Jupiters, so in essence we can't compare core-for-core performance.
11  Economy / Securities / Re: [CRYPTOSTOCKS] Labcoin Official Thread - Self-Moderated on: October 17, 2013, 08:33:44 PM
Just wondering. It looks like when you add to the total hashing there is a drastic dip for a little bit.. I'm guessing you are re-arranging, etc? If so I'm guessing we'll see more than 3 TH shortly...

Correct. We are currently bringing up more hardware.

Does the whole system have to be brought down for every upgrade? It would seem the hash rate drops for a couple of hours before more hashing power is brought in. Is it not modular?

Does anyone know at what time (UTC preferred) the difficulty changed? The last 6 transactions to LC address would suggest an average of 961 GH/s. But that's with the new difficulty.

Its due to how PPLNS works most likely, plus the time it takes for a new block to be confirmed. They are now getting paid for shifts they completed before the change.

True. I hadn't thought of that.  Roll Eyes

So any news/updates?

Are they minning or what?

Any news on how/when we are moving to BitFunder or Havelock?

In short - no. We don't know how fast they are hashing, and we have no official statements of moving to another exchange.

it is btct cold storage, ignore the 19k since 15k goes one direction and sits around until closure announcement

So you're saying...

...they increased their hashrate as promised?

Actually my calculations would show a ~722 GH/s averaging yesterday and today. Averaging just today, it's ~748 GH/s. So not very promising.

Well, your calculations suck then Grin
[/quote]

No, actually they don't Wink I explicitly said this was a daily (and a 2 day) average. If tomorrow's average is better, I would be glad Smiley

EDIT: I'm only interested in sustained hash power. Certainly calculation based on every payment's timing is not the way to go here.

BTW if anyone wants to make the share price fall below .002 again, just start a couple new teams with combined hash power from all the FUDsters and throw labcoin off the rank list.  Buy up shares, rinse, repeat..

I'm not sure the 486's of all the FUDsters could make the list.

2 teams * 15 BFL singles would throw us off the list. It's quite funny how little hashing power we got at the moment. Here's hoping more will be deployed fast.
20  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 22, 2013, 04:08:54 PM
wont take long before labcoin shows BTC address and that they are still holding shares...

https://blockchain.info/address/17psAW21J4twanAFWmbcd5WdX2pKeX3trm

that's the address.

I was referring to "WARNING -- This asset has been flagged for potential violation of their Stockholder Agreement. Please place your orders accordingly."

I wasn't able to trade unless I provided a BTC address and that does not mean labcoin members cant sell shares but they did say they wouldn't till 1 year, so far too much FUD.

But transparency is what is needed for Labcoin to be a success

Uhmm, that means you have to provide your own address, which would be visible to the security issuers in case something happens to BTCT. That has nothing to do with Labcoin, it's just a security precaution from BTCT.

TL;DR: that address is only visible to security issuers.
