Ok, so this is a little concerning.  This morning my NH wallet balance is $0.00.

I see where it appears they did the usual in-wallet transaction to my local wallet around 6am:

But notice the actual transaction is missing and that $ symbol signifying a payment is missing from the graph...

Are you guys seeing the same thing?

Evga should be on track today the 4th  as they are supposed to start shipping again.

I hope so.  Looking at their on-line store, the only cards (air cooled) they available right now are:

1080 FTW $559.99 (limit 1)
1080 SC2 $549.99 (b-stock limit 4)
1070 FTW2 $489.99 (limit 1)

Ah, so you're using Nicehash's algo-switcher. Gotcha.
Guess that's fair if you have many rigs, I agree it would get old pretty quickly to monitor them daily. I still do it but with 4 rigs it's still manageable.

You'd still have the option to go with Nemosminer or Sniffdog, btw.

I'd love to use nicehash miner to profit switch, but I really have gone off windows rigs lately. I just want my rigs to manage themselves.

Are there any reliable Linux OS which offer profit switching on nicehash?

Nope - AFAIK Nicehash does not offer a LINUX version of their auto-switcher part at all.

You're right that NH does not offer a Lunix version of their miner directly, however, nvOC (Linux based mining os) does offer a couple of the NiceHash pools, but are limited to:

Code:
# NICE_ETHASH autoconverts to BTC: ensure you update BTC_ADDRESS if you use NICE_ETHASH
NICE_ETHASH_WORKER="$WORKERNAME"
NICE_ETHASH_POOL="stratum+tcp://daggerhashimoto.usa.nicehash.com:3353"
GENOIL_NICE_ETHASH_POOL="daggerhashimoto.usa.nicehash.com:3353"
NICE_ETHASH_EXTENSION_ARGUMENTS=""   # add any additional claymore arguments desired here

And:

Code:
# Nice Equihash
NICE_EQUIHASH_WORKER=$WORKERNAME
NICE_EQUIHASH_ADDRESS=$BTC_ADDRESS
NICE_EQUIHASH_POOL="equihash.usa.nicehash.com"
NICE_EQUIHASH_PORT="3357"

nvOC does support profit switching between many coins and pools, but it is pretty crude and uses the WhatToMine json and I have found it less profitable in practice, compared to just sticking with a single coin and manually switching weeklyish (i.e. from ZEC to ZEN to MONA to VTC).  At least that was my experience on MPH.

I'd LOVE to see a Linux version of their miner, but I think their target audience has been Windows so far.

Speaking of NH miner and NHML in particular, does anyone know what happened to 'DillonN'?  He's the guy that posts binaries for NHML miner on GitHub, and the last commit he did was on November 21st for NiceHashMinerLegacy.  Makes me wonder if he is still part of the NH team.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: January 03, 2018, 10:52:14 PM
Nist5 profits are basically driven by Bulwark currently. Btw why are you guys mining Nist5 at Nicehash rather than ahashpool for example? You're just paying high fees and taking Nicehash risk and its dodgy payout policy...

That's a very good question.  In my case, I have been mining a single coin, like ZEN, on MPH, which has done very good lately.  I have played with auto switching in the past, and also manually switched between coins.  But that gets to get real old real quick if you have 10+ rigs and it involves modifying bash scripts and ssh'ing into each rig to force a miner restart.

You would also have to spend time studying the market and know that Bulwark was currently driving the Nist5 profits for example.  I don't have time for that, so dipping my toes with NH again has been pretty interesting so far and proving more profitable that I thought it would.  It is also not just Nist5, NH sometimes picks a decent coin on other algos.  Right now, for example, I have a couple of rigs going at it on lyra2rev2:

The big question on my mind, is how much does NH skim off the top on the profit numbers showing before depositing to local NH wallet at 2%?  Withdrawing from local NH wallet to Coinbase has no fee, and is instant, which was one of the reasons I decided to try it out again.  I'll need to run for at least a week to know for sure, but right now, even with whatever skimming NH might be doing, I appear to be on track to make 20-30% more than I did on MPH mining ZEN only.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: January 03, 2018, 10:44:45 PM
I had a 2 card setup and I went to move it this cause a loose seal that I could not fix.

But it did look good I had blue liquid was happy with it should have never moved it.
Yikes.  I hope it was powered down before moving.  I "spun" my rig around under power to get rid of the air bubbles.  Fortunately it didn't leak!

they need  a pump a fan and a radiator they are hard to setup

But, but, they are so pretty to look at.  Here's my Arcticstorm:

And whisper quiet sitting right next to me and earning a decent return:

But yeah, for a 100% mining only rig, that type of water cooled GPU is too much work.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: January 03, 2018, 03:30:46 PM
On my air cooled 9x EVGA SC and SC2 1080Ti rigs I'm doing: (currently $81.07)

tdp 80% (190W)
core 100
ram 550

On my water cooled 4x MSI 1080Ti rig I'm doing: (currently $38.26)

tdp 75% (190W)
core 145
ram 600

On my water cooled 1x Zotac 1080Ti rig I'm doing: (currently $9.72)

tdp 65% (230W)
core 240
ram 650

So the brand/model of the specific 1080Ti makes a big difference on the tdp and core settings used.

EVGA least power hungry and highest factory clock
MSI fairly power hungry and middle of the road factory clock
Zotac crazy power hungry and very low factory clock (on their watercooled card unlike their AMP! Extreme)

I moved 6 of my rigs to the latest win 10 creators edition yesterday using the current ISO downloaded directly from Microsoft.  Once I had the ISO, I used the MSMG Toolkit to completely debloat it, and proceeded to install onto a SSD in my test rig with a single 1060.  I installed the latest nvidia drivers.

I then moved the SSD with the completed install, into my 1st rig (9x1080Ti).  I was pleasantly surprised that after "updating device drivers" ran for about 20 minutes, it came up and all 9 of my cards where there and no missing device drivers.  I then loaded afterburner and NHML and I was mining again.

Rinse and repeat for my other 5 rigs with no issues encountered there either.

These rigs were running nvOC before, pointing at MPH mining ZEN.  They were all doing quite well, but the guys over on [H]ardforum kept talking about how Nist5 on NH had been doing amazingly for 10+ days, so I figured I'd give it a try.

So before, my 2 9x1080Ti rigs on nvOC were getting this: (I'm using Awesome Miner to monitor my rigs)

And now that they are on NH, they are earning this:

Of course it goes up and down, but in the close to 24 hours I have been on NH, I rarely see it dip below $80 and I have seen it go over $140:

I still have several rigs mining ZEN on MPH, and the earnings there are the same as before.  I'm picking up some additional SSD's today to convert those over to NH as well (I want to keep the nvOC SSDs so that I can go back quickly if I need to).  As for licensing Win10, I just get those cheap keys from ebay.  They have been working for me so far.

I withdraw daily to my coinbase account instantly with $0 fees, so my NH exposure is minimal.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Seems there is a couple different versions of the Nvidia 1080ti on: December 28, 2017, 09:45:19 PM
Agreed on the SC's and SC2's.  I got a rig with 9x SC's and another with 9x SC2's.  I run them at 200W each and they still stay quite cool:

I can't find the delta he says he has this is close

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAAES6CK2798&cm_re=delta-_-9SIAAES6CK2798-_-ProductBrand: DELTA (Delta)

Model: AFB1212VHE
Size: 120 * 120 * 38MM
Voltage: 12V
Current: 0.90A
Power: 10.8W
Speed: 3200RPM
Airflow: 129.96CFM
Noise: 48DBA
Use of the environment: -20 ~ 75 °
Life span: 70,000 hours

but it is not as good scythe

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA9ZH3S91539&cm_re=scythe_ultra_kaze-_-1YF-0015-00008-_-Product

Mfr Part Number: DFS123812H-3000
•Features?Silent to Power User Ready?
4-Pin Peripheral Adopter Provided
•Speed: 3000 rpm
•Bearing Type: Sleeve Bearing
•Connector: 3pin
•MTBF: 30,000 Hours
•Noise: 45.90dBA
•Airflow: 133.60CFM
•Rated Voltage: 12V
•Rated Current: 0.60 A
•Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 38 mm•Weight: 225g

The above delta is more durable
Both cost the same.

but  the scythe  uses 7.2 watts vs 10.8 watts

a difference of 3.6 watts  x 3 fans = 10.8 watts less  over its life of 30000 hours that is 300 kwatts of power for 3 pieces or 30 dollars at 10 cents a kwatt.  33 dollars at 11 cents a kwatt.

this means  a push or close to a push in price.

and you move 401.4 cfm for the scythe
and only 389.88 cfm for the delta.

the delta are louder  by 3 db.

I use a quality ham radio supply to run  my scythe at 8.5 volts  and they still move enough air very quietly.

they are on sale at newegg  12.99  free shipping

high end

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010FAW5KM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?

These are the Delta's I'm running:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835213005

  • 120 CFM
  • 44dBa
  • 5.52W (typical)
  • dual ball bearing
  • $17 (on sale right now)

So they move a little bit less air, use a little bit less power, and are a little bit less noisy, but cost a little bit more.  So yeah, the Scythe is a it a better buy, but they are real close.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 23, 2017, 12:16:05 PM
Those 3000 rpm fans Phil recommended finally came in.  I swapped out the ~1,600 rpm Thermaltake fans and it made all the difference.  Temps are now between 55 and 65 with the GPU fans staying at 50%.

how are you able to hold the fans up ? , and as far as i know that ONDA board only has 2 free fan headers how do you connect 3 fans ?

he attached to the molex  look at the 2 photos i left

the scythe  ultra kaze  are the best choice as they pull  7 watts each so 3 are only 21 watts  to move 3 x 133 cfm = 400cfm
oh i see some kind of molex to those fan adapters , most fans come with one of those , what kind of screws are those ? do the come with the Kraze fans and how loud are they ?
I'm laready close to my limit on fan noise, I bought a few of those heavy CFM ones to cool my power supplies and they are too damn loud.

they are way quieter then the delta's the deltas are 3800 to 5500 rpm  depends on which one.

these are only 3000 rpm.  they are better then an avalon and you are talking about s-9 noise .

I use some scythe with 9 volts and they are nice. really nice at that voltage.

but at 12 volts they are still decent not quiet but decent.

Like Phil said, I used the included 3-pin to Molex adapters that came with the Scythe fans to connect to unused Molex connectors from the ATX PSU.

Fans are kept in place by being screwed to the aluminum angle stock (1/2" x 1/16") with 6-32 screws.

The Delta's I have are relatively low RPM @ 3,000 just like the Scythe, but cost about 50% less and move just as much air and use 0.6A as opposed to 0.7A.

I did move both the Colorful and the Onda rigs out into my garage yesterday and they were too loud sitting next to me in my home office.  I only have my water cooled rigs in my office now, and it is nice and quiet now. Smiley
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: POLL: Nicehash resuming operations - are you going back? on: December 21, 2017, 12:26:15 PM
where are they getting the funds to repay us with? they owe me around $590

According to the news release, new investors are taking care of the payback.  They admit the stolen funds are unlikely to be recovered.

Looking on WTM, Nicehash X11Gost, Equihash, Lyra2Rev2 and NeoScrypt are already climbing the charts, currently holding positions 10, 13, 16 and 17 respectively.  It would appear that previous users are already flocking back in droves.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 21, 2017, 01:23:15 AM
How do you like the Colorful vs the Onda?  Those are nice pictures, I've had a hard time finding pictures of either board with the right angle and clarity to see how much space is between the GPUs. It looks like with the right kind of airflow either board would work for 8 GPUs (at least the less power/heat hungry ones).

Colorful pros:
  • Can use server PSU as all it needs is 8x 6-pin PCIe power
  • Fan power headers in the perfect place

Colorful cons:
  • Slot spacing very tight
  • Custom 4-pin to 4-pin CPU power cable
  • Expensive DDR4 SODIMM ram

Onda pros:
  • Slot spacing is perfect

Onda cons:
  • Slot0 won't take a full length card
  • Molex and Sata power connectors
  • ATX power connector
  • Fan headers not accessible with GPUs installed
  • Expensive DDR4 SODIMM

The Onda V2.0 takes care of just about all the cons with V1.0.  About the only con left is that you need a PICO if you want to use a server PSU since it retains the ATX power connector.

Here are a couple of shots of the fully loaded Coloful rig:

Also got all but 1 card in for the Onda rig.  I'm staggering Zotac 1070Ti Minis with 1070TI AMP!.

And stats:

This rig is running Delta fans with about the same specs at the fans Phil recommended (but more expensive).  Hope to have the 4th AMP! by Friday, but Christmas mail mayhem might delay it.

Have you tried deepinthemines? https://www.deepinthemines.com/ We have had much better service from them, even during the craziest of times this year. Getting an answer from parallel miner is like pulling hens teeth, while deepinthemines has repleid within 5-10 minutes at 2am before (2am local time for them and us both).

Thanks, I'll check them out.

You can’t just place the order again?

I guess I can.  I was just hoping to get an answer as to why they cancelled my entire order, and I did see where they still had the PSU I ordered available for order, so for all I know, re-ordering would just result in the whole thing getting cancelled again after 6 additional business days.

Quote
That's not cool Sad Have you been in touch with Joseph? He's usually responsive. If they keep playing the same game they'll be come back in stock in a while with a price hike Angry

Albert Su is who emailed me about cancelling the entire order.  Sent him 3 follow up email over a 5 day period and left him 2 voice mail messages.  I also emailed Missa Biesel and left her voice mails during that same period.  No response at all.

I ordered 36 PCIe 6pin to 6pin cables (the white and black ones), 2x X7 breakout boards and 1x HP 94% 1200W PSU (their Baikal Giant Miner kit) although I'll be using that PSU to power a Colorful mobo instead of the Delta 2400W I'm currently using.  I was hoping to have all this stuff here before Christmas, but now it looks like it will be after the 1st of the year.

Anyone know what's going on with parallelminer?  I placed and order with them on the 12th for a PSU, various cables and power boards, then on the 16th I got an email saying the PSU was out of stock and they cancelled the entire order.  I sent several emails back, called and left messages, and here we are on the 18th and no response at all.  Tried to leave following vm's today, but now their vm's are full...  wtf?

The power sensing circuitry in the 1050Ti is faulty so nvidia disabled pulling these false readings in the recent drivers.

I used the upgrade script and had modified versions of 1bash ready to push to reach miner after the update script completed.

I believe papampi is working on a 19_2.0 image.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 18, 2017, 01:36:44 AM
Around 63 MH/s is the best I can do at 220W into rigs with EVGA 1080Ti SC Black Edition cards:

http://www.cstone.net/~dk/miner03_lyra2v2_12_17_17.JPG

Factory power limit on the SC's is 300 watts, so the 220 watts I'm feeding them would be the same at 73%.

My water cooled 1080Ti rig (MSI Sea Hawk EK and Zotac ArcticStorm GPUs) only does slightly better at around 65MH/s feeding them 220 - 230 watts.

http://www.cstone.net/~dk/miner05_lyra2v2_12_17_17.JPG

The Sea Hawks have a factory power limit of 330 watts, so the 225W I'm feeding them is about 68%.  The Zotac has a whopping 432 watts factor power limit, so the 230 watts I'm feeding it is about 54%.

These rigs  is running lyra2v2 and Alexis ccminer 1.0 (I guess there hasn't been an update in a while).

I tried various other ccminer 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 forks, but Alexis did better than all of them.

Rolled 19-2 out to all my rigs and no issues whatsoever.

I have rigs with 1050Tis, 1060's, 1070's, 1070Ti's and 1080Tis and each rig has between 3 and 9 GPUs, so a decent mix of GPU models and rig configurations.

http://www.cstone.net/~dk/19-2rollout.JPG

In a future version, I'd love to see a "summary" feature of the rig stats and I soon won't be able to fit them in a single browser window on a 4k monitor.
