It's always easy not to have any proof, no matter how simple they are. And then claimed his intention to destroy the 16.3 Gapcoin Repository history? ? Cause idiots obviously don't understand the "Alpha/Beta" & "Pre Release" part. There is no script, backdoor or trojan, as i know, you're totally crazy. Transactions from 0.9>0.16 or 0.16>0.9 works fine for me. 0.9 works fine for me. 0.16 works fine for me. Gapcoin works fine for me. If i see something, i point it out. No problem, except your harassment to the project here. (See the diff between an 'incident' and a 'problem', cf. ITIL: Incident management vs Problem management) Mr. Higgins did the GH Primegap List Project web site, working with S.Troisi and the Mersenne Forum members. Mr. Higgins did the GH Gapcoin Community-led Project web site. Mr. Higgins did the Core client. Mr. Higgins submit all gaps records ! Mr. Higgins is working on the amazing ACME. Mr. Higgins is interested to help with the nvidia miner. [...] It was the Gapcoin's community that asked him for his help. And he's f*****g clear on every subject ! I myself consume a lot of his time ! There is so many questions. But I produce some records, on a regular basis. cf. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gap/block.dws?1407005.htmWhat have you achieved ?! Have some respect, ****. Chill out and come on Discord if you wanna talk !

Hey,
You are really bipolar, that sucks.
Mr. Higgins is working on something else, which will be released when it's ready. AND 0.16 is only a step for 0.20... Your comments don't make sense. Again, if it really interested you, you would come to Discord and you would know that !!
Use CRT miner and stop shift 25, 32 & 64. Come on Discord or Shut Up, Bro', you're Toxic since 2017. Try to not sell to 10 sats this time.

Hey peeps , Is there anyone alive here ?! Let's introduce the " CRT Files Challenge" Here is a list of what I got so far. But it takes a long time to calculate these files. If anyone is keen on doing the missing files or doing better than the existing files, I wait for you to put them forward. Let's start with 2 directories with files for Merit 22 & Merit 25 (Merit 28 is the next one). I think that will be fine, for the moment. Rules : - Simple, Less 'n_candidates' ! - The file should work ! (Windows users have to convert lines endings to UNIX(LF) to use the file.) - Share if possible the settings used to produce the file !- Respect the *new* filename convention ! (discoverer lowercase): " crt-<merit>m-<4digitshift>-<discoverer>.txt" ex: "crt-22m-0102s-wizz.txt"You will find all the lines to produce these files here, feel free to play with : CRTCalculation.batFiles : crtwizzTips: - To not spend a thousand years on a file with high merit or a shift> 512, try to use : --ctr-strength 1000 --ctr-ivs 100, then try your own way for the best "factor speed increase". - Decimal allowed (' .' not ' ,') As a reminder, the originals:crt-22m-64s.txt:n_candidates: 657 crt-22m-96s.txt:n_candidates: 643 crt-22m-128s.txt:n_candidates: 638 I found! Chinese Remainder Theorem, is this, right?
Yes, indeed. To run CRT with descent performances, try to use this start batch and play with it (Work in progress, not definitive): https://github.com/wizz13150/GapcoinStuff/blob/main/crtwizz/start-gapminerCRT.bat(my) Instructions : ONLY the CRT miner rev5.1 should be used now for CPU, by everyone, in any situation. (Even if not using CRT) https://gapcoin.network/downloads/ :: School for more gaps/s and tests : :: :: Instructions: :: 1 - Set --fermat-threads = --threads minus one. :: 2 - Set --sieve-primes for an optimal value. :: 3 - Miners should use a random/different shift when starting CRT miner, choose a non-overmined shift. :: You can mine in --shift 510, using the crt file 'crt-22m-512s.txt'. EDIT: Work in progress about the start batch, settings and instructions ..! You probably won't be disappointed ! BitcoinFX, I would like to have your opinion. What school are you from? More 'Gaps/s & tests' or More '[%] & PPS' cf. 'start-gapminerCRT.bat'

is anyone using the suprnova poll having problems with mining? Yeah, it seems to be in trouble. ocminer is probably busy. Solo mining for now. We should use the gapminer-cpu with CRT (rev5.1), in higher shifts, during this time. Gapminer-gpu is stuck on shift 32, so the same for gpus.

|
Up guys ! Good Bounties available ! That's not an impossible task. The code is working for AMD cards, but the original developer just didn't have an nvidia card to do it ... @j0nn9 - Any new performance improvements coming or nvidia miner?
Since i don't have any Nvidia cards, I'm not capable of porting the miner to Nvidia.
|
|
|
I am actually using the Higgins idea to Mine different shifts on the same computer and just mined my first block doing it.
It's on Discord ! Different shifts yes, but not at the same time... Loop this : https://github.com/wizz13150/GapcoinStuff/blob/main/%5Bgapminer-cpu%5DRunMultipleShiftsSuccessively.ps1I'm collecting data from the CRT miner on the settings with different types of processors (number of cores). Fermat Threads need to increase with shifts. And see how to produce CRT files which will be usable at higher difficulty. A crt file created for a merit of 22 is probably not going to be ideal if the difficulty increases. And I have already been able to create standard files with fewer candidates than stock files. Also cpu-miner should have the '--range' option like the crt miner (Even longer to produce). A lot to do for the miner. Others have better to do and they are busy. The miners should be the top priority for the community, from my pov. We really need to find someone able to rewrite the miner. Network hashrate is way too low ! Give me a Nvidia miner and it's going to double instantly. If one day there is no longer a functional miner, there will be no more problem with the wallet. Nor anything else.
|
|
|
Dang Bad day eh? If only you could turn your attention to the miner... CPU miner can probably be optimized a lot now. CRT miner still remains a total mystery to me ! GPU miner is just broken for nvidia and need optimizations for amd. All miners should be able to mine randomly several shifts. Pools need to improve ( i saw only one) and accept correctly CRT. Need to extract and analyse gaps (The point). This is a crucial point in my opinion, and the one with the worst prospects for the future. Like what, everyone has their own opinion on everything. I have many ideas if you know how to code. Why fixate on the wallet? Go on discord at some point. M. Higgins is busy.

Whilst I fully appreciate the predicament, we should all await Stable Release of Gapcoin Core v0.16.3 - across all platforms (hopefully) ... [...] I personally need some more time to test and review everything.
True. I'm on testnet since 07/11/2020, day of pre-release of Alpha available. C'mon, " pre-release" and " Alpha", seem's crystal clear to me. Absolutely no indication was given to switch to the mainnet. It's the opposite. I'll wait. I also see that a lot of work is done in the shadows. After 6 or 7 years, no need to rush this part there. So I'll just add Good luck and Good work guys !

Mining / DataMining Noob Stuff https://github.com/wizz13150/GapcoinStuffno work indeed
Yes, you need to use 192.168.1.0/24
I got this one, dumb (me) translation : Allow a range, a network delimited by subnet mask. Not a single IP nor IP and mask

Tempus Narrabo

Question... If gapcoin, riecoin and primecoin are both of them finding usefull prime numbers.. Can they be used to give results from one blockchain to the otherone? Can i mine for one on them and present results for the three of them?
To be short, nop : Primecoin network searches for special prime number chains known as Cunningham chains and bi-twin chains. Gapcoin is searching for large prime gaps. Riecoin use several PoW algorithms. Maths behind this are for mad people cf. https://www.mersenneforum.org/forumdisplay.php?f=131

Hey, Be sure gjhiggins, BitcoinFX and the weak community are well aware of the limitations / issues / major stake that you are talking about. Unfortunately, we are experiencing a lack of GPU developers and mathematicians [...] at this point, despite the best wishes in the world... If you knew the history of Gapcoin, its developer and its community, it's true that your post would have been different, I think. But in general, although there are some better ideas than others, there are rarely bad ones. What you are saying here is true, but a fact already known and has been thought out. It's obvious to some. However, I disagree easily with some points like the market cap and mining reward, people are just and simply venal and just don't give a s**t until there is money on the table [...] This is a lot of information that you have unpacked here, just understand that each of them needs to be discussed in depth. If you want to discuss further, it's here : The thing is, (not a criticism, just a self-evident fact that falls on you one day or another) this is an 'open source' project. If you want to/can participate, you can freely and we will thank you for that. https://github.com/gapcoin-projectOtherwise, the ideas just go to the pile of ideas. And there is a BIG one. I'm not trying to be on the defensive, or to justify gjhiggins' answer, but just to replace the Gapcoin's situation. Give gjhiggins a real bone to chew on and he'll do miracles. We're just little monkeys randomly typing on typewriters, hoping to produce Shakespeare. Unfortunately, for the moment, the g is sticked. (cf Gapcoin Core 0.16.3 > About) People like you are necessary for this kind of project, but it's a lot of work. Thanks for your time, your efforts are still appreciated, don't give up ! Nice catch ! 1500$ Free

Yoh, i can't answer in a technical way. But as I know, CRT will be used to mine higher Shifts and for 'huge' cpu/gpu power (~1,5M+ pps). I don't use CRT miner... I'm waiting for a gpu developer to fall from the sky to try higher ranges. Did you add known nodes ?! --extra-verbose doesn't give you additionnal infos on the init failure ? Wallet launch (~1 minutes) is op for me. Usually with a 500k pps cpu, i'll find several blocks a day. Eventually 1-5blocks/3hours. ________________ Starting pool miner ~500K pps cpu : Found share at 22.4628 merit is a valid block after a few minutes. Block from picture : https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gap/block.dws?1315757.htm________________ If you're here to mine at high shift range and for high merit gaps you'll need a lot of cpu power. And if you're here just to mine without 'mathematical goal' or low cpu power, go for standard miner at a standard shift range (25-32) and connect to the pool I leave the technical approach for others ! Sry And someone to invite you on Discord. They will probably need to know you miner's launch command, with options. If you mine at shift 1024 [...] with 200K pps, good luck. Miners probably need a lot more optimizations (mathematicals/gpu dev) to maximise mining power. To optimize your mining range with CRT miner: cf. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=822498.msg54565947#msg54565947https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=822498.msg54575759#msg54575759

After running Mr. Higgins 9.4 Gapcoin port of Bitcoin core using the local daemon and mining with ./gapcoin-cli setgenerate true a different problem arises. I was thinking if it was a conflicted parameters for the built in miner and using the built in miner using setgenerate true. That the local daemon would show if this was true or not. I did not get the same error and shut down as with running the QT wallet. However, It seems to prevent locking the computer screen as if a hidden process is going on somewhere. I let it run to see if my local screen saver would lock it over time. But after 45 mins still unlocked desktop. Re-booting the computer without running Gapcoin daemon fixed it. But I am not going to test Mr. Higgins' "software" any longer.
Now, normally I would think it is just general stuff due to it being a 1 man show with Mr. Higgins. However, I find nothing trustworthy at all. And the so called person who "Called" in his help is the spam poster BitcoinFX, who could care less if anything is backdoored since he uses virtual machines on cloud computing. (At least what he admits to doing).
I encourage anyone to contribute to updating Code for Trisquel 9 soon to be released.
But good luck to anyone who chooses to focus on dominating the shift 25 using Mr. Higgins code work.
What the .. ? So this virus doesn't work well? Is that basically what you're saying? Or maybe the Gapcoin Miner is a trojan to .?. mine Monero ? or to hack at random 3 people? What's the point ? You can see and investigate all the code and commits ... Re-booting the computer without running Gapcoin daemon fixed it.
Is this a diagnosis? And stop to tell "Mr. Higgins this..", "Mr. Higgins that.." It's starting to be ridiculous. It's of course not impossible, but you'll have to prove your assumptions. Thank you for your contribution
