DNotes Telegram Channel today:

My desktop wallet stopped staking sometime yesterday. It was showing unlocked but not staking. This morning I restarted it and unlocked it for staking only, and after a few minutes, maybe 15, it still wasn't staking. I'm not in front of it now so can't troubleshoot, but I was wondering if it was just me having that problem. My computer does need to be replaced, so that may be my issue

Hi Dyna, thank you for sharing this in the BT thread. I was wondering if you could please share the link the the DNotes Telegram group. Thanks in advance Smiley

Certainly. Here it is:  https://t.me/joinchat/FB-UaUjrQiji-EBatHLsuA

Thanks Dyna, much appreciated Smiley
Quick question. Would it be possible to change the url to be more brand friendly?

This question is redirected to Tim and Dan.

We changed it a couple days ago.  Here you go.

How do we know if our vote went through? When it gets posted on FB? Because it went to all of my 292 friends on FB. I guess that means the vote actually went through?

As far as I can tell it has not worked for the people I have sent there, and the number has not changed according to the number of people saying that they have signed up. So I am working with their support team.

I've sent some people there as well, and their vote is not showing.

Thanks so much for posting the FAQs about DNotes 2.0.

Before I invest heavily in a lot of math... does anyone happen to know off hand: is it currently more profitable to download the wallet, transfer all DNotes balances to wallet and begin staking? Or, is it just as profitable to leave it in DNotes Vault as CRISP accounts?

I do understand about the risks with staking on your own computer, so no need to address that. I'm just interested in the hard profitability numbers. If someone has already figured this out, I'd love to know. Otherwise, I'll run the calculations and post it Smiley

As I understand it, CRISP is associated with an wallet address (QT or vault...30 day hold).  So, staking would be in addition to.?  The math I'm trying to do is staking weight v. network weight.  Am I correct with this assumption?

The new vault is working great!  It's an easy way to convert the old DNotes to the DNotes 2.0.  To be able to receive old, and send out new all in one place, makes this exchange easy.  I know simplicity and understanding to the everyday user, has been one of the main objectives for the DNotes ecosystem. Thank you team, and Geneca for the user friendly platform.

What an exciting week for DNotes.  Not only for our 2.0 launch, but I was lucky enough to have the team sponsor my disc golf tournament over the weekend.  I was surprised to find out how many in our disc golf community are already involved in crypto currency.  One guy I know, came up to me to let me know he got hired on as legal council for Shape Shift here in Denver.  Our simple sponsorship gave us exposure to a couple hundred people.  The market may be down, but DNotes future is on the rise.  Thank you again Joe, Alan, Tim and the rest of the team for your hard work, and support.

Today’s Bitcoin Buyers Are Still Early Adopters:  Survey Says 8% of the American Population Now Own Cryptocurrency

A new survey of Americans has discovered that the cryptocurrency community still has a long way to go to in order to simplify the technology or to reach out and educate more people in the United States, especially among women and older folks.

Demographics that DNotes is reaching out to.  DNotesEDU, Crypto moms, DCEBrief all helping bridge the gap for mainstream adoption.

Dear DNotes team. For some time now I'm watching your progress and have high hopes for your success, because you seem to put a lot of effort on it and make everything by the rules and are not rushing things and also have some great ideas.

But, my concern is that overthinking and going forward by small steps can be double edged sword. In the mean time the competition is not resting and can overtake from left and right. Then all great ideas will be obsolete if another similar solution will already take place instead of DNotes.

Did you consider expanding your team and by that speed up process a little? Also I think that you should relly put more focus on advertising at least at release DNotes 2.0 if not before. It does not help if you have good...even great product if not a lot people know about it and advantages it offer. I think that for example we can look little back in history what happened with Betamax in competition with VHS. Today good marketing and social media activity is unfortunately essential for product to succeed and gain mass acceptance.

When, for example today I take a look on Coinmarketcap trading volume in last 24 hours it had been less than 3.000 USD. That means that practically no one is buying/trading with DNotes. I think that main reason could be that many people in the community are not even aware of DNotes and that worries me a little.
Also it wold be essential to get DNotes on more exchanges. if you would be able to get to some of more popular ones like Bittrex that would be great step ahead I think.

In any case this are just my thoughts and I wish you all the best, especially because I am also holding some of DNotes and if you succeed so do I Cool Cheesy

Hi Amedeus82.  Thank you for the support in DNotes as well.  We are real close to that point where we can show the world what we have been developing the past few years. Social media will be a big part of getting our message out.  We have been building and adding multiple social media platforms that will help us reach a wide audience when we launch DNotes 2.0.  Any specific ideas you have, please share, and we'll incorporate them into our strategy.  As a decentralized currency, the community has a important roll with ideas, and spreading the message of DNotes.  Stay active in this forum, and we'll work together to bring attention to what we've built.  The tools (white paper, website, new wallet, etc.) will be available shortly, that will help us share the whole picture of what makes our project worth being excited about.  I encourage anyone who is new to this forum, or just a lurker for a while, to come on and say hi and introduce yourself.  Share your thoughts with us.  This is your project too.

Here is the current checklist. I encourage everyone to contribute.

Looking good DNotes team!  A couple ideas I have, that might already be part of the plan;

An address book for the DNotes vault.  I have many friends and family that use the vault, and it would be nice to be able to store their address so we don't have to ask each time we want to transfer.

A basic phone app, if security would allow.  Just a simple way to access our vault, maybe with withdraw limitations.  A way to transfer DNotes within the vault, and on the blockchain.  Also, maybe a shapeshift type application within to exchange currencies on the go.

It's all coming together nicely.  Exciting times for the DNotes community.  Thanks for all the hard work Joe, Alan, Tim, Kevin and the rest of the team.

Just for a little more clarification for the CRISP;

Today, before the launch of DNotes 2.0, the only way to earn interest is to enroll in the retirement plan at either a 5y,10y, 15y or 20y plan?
There's no interest accrual by just storing your DNotes in the vault?

When DNotes 2.0 is launched, this will change by not having to enroll in CRISP, but just to HODL in the vault?

Then additionally, we'll be able to stake our coins from the same vault account?
Hey Denver Dan,

"the only way to earn interest is to enroll in the retirement plan at either a 5y,10y, 15y or 20y plan?"
The retirement bonus balance is currently depleted:
"we provided incentives for getting involved and saving DNotes, including a 1,000,000 DNotes bonus to be paid to retirement accounts as bonus interest.

And so far, it’s been an incredible success story for everyone involved. The retirement program was so successful that the bonus balance was depleted well ahead of the intended target of 5 years."

"There's no interest accrual by just storing your DNotes in the vault?"
That is correct.

"When DNotes 2.0 is launched, this will change by not having to enroll in CRISP, but just to HODL in the vault?"
Not just in the DNotesVault, but it could be in your own wallet.
What happens to those CRISPs when DNotes 2.0 launches? There’s good news on that front! Because our CRISP programs have become such a popular feature for DNotes stakeholders, we have decided to expand its benefits. The future of CRISP will feature automatic blockchain distributions, made in two ways: 0.166% after 30 days and 4% after 365 days.

Best of all, DNotes stakeholders won’t have to do anything new to earn those distributions. They only need to maintain their DNotes at the DNotesVault or in their own secure wallet - and hold them for the designated period required to receive interest payments. That’s it! No special terms or difficult requirements to meet; they simply need to hold their DNotes to earn interest!

"Then additionally, we'll be able to stake our coins from the same vault account?"
Once deferred / cold staking is available, which may not be available for the first release of DNotes 2.0.
Excellent.   Again, what great benefits to be a DNotes holder.  Thank you Joe.

If anyone had a chance to watch the CFTC/SEC hearing today in Washington, I'd be curious to hear your opinion.  In my opinion, this hearing in general was positive for the future of cypto currencies.  While still pretty vague in many aspects, there appears to be support for moving this technology forward.  A majority of the concern was with scams and "unregulated" ICO's.  While I couldn't agree more, I doubt many of these are in their jurisdiction.  My hope, as time goes on, we'll see a self regulating body come to the surface.  These blockchains are world wide, and obviously no one country can govern this space.

One of the points made, was how not one ICO has come to the SEC for their approval.  I can only imagine the hurdles that must be jumped over to even get this far.  I know the DNotes team has at some level, looked at this avenue in the past.  Can you share your thoughts on what it would take to be the "first" company to apply for this ICO approval, and possibly why DNotes has chosen not to take this road?  We see the many benefits of the Reg A+, title IV, tier II, mini IPO offering, however this approval process is expensive and time consuming.  Could the application for an ICO, through the SEC/CFTC achieve the same results, and less headache perhaps, as what is trying to be achieved through the Reg A+, title IV, tier II, mini IPO offering?

While this would not offer DNotes Global Inc. the exposure to the OTC, and traditional market participation, could this be an alternative for future funding while gaining notoriety for being the "first" ICO application?  Could it also cut down on the burdensome expenses, audits and compliance hurdles?  What about a relationship with potential banking partnerships needed to move forward in the future?  ie future exchange, on/off ramp.  (Pretty sure I know the answers to last couple questions)

To take this a little further, as crypto currencies become more excepted and banks possibly feeling threatened and auditors not necessarily willing to risk their name on the dotted line, how could this effect DNotes Global Inc.'s ability to be/stay in compliance?  Could an legitimate ICO eliminate this?  (Is that an oxymoron?)  Something tells me any path taken here in the U.S., will have nothing but red tape and hurdles.

I believe 100% DNotes is taking the right path, but my hope is third parties wont make it too difficult to achieve a third party-less system.

Dnotes,

With BTC dropping fast, what kind of uplifting advice can you give the new people (doing this for the first time) wanting to hurry and get out? I know you are putting together training for the stay at home parents (Cryptomoms) who want to invest in crypto and all i'm hearing is I will never do that because of what we are seeing today. It could rebound and we all know this, but is something like this part of your training in the new Dnotes 2.0?

Hey Chezzz.  I know most of the DNotes team and community has given their advice.  If I could give my 2 cents to you and other new investors too.  I've been involved in the crypto industry since 2013-2014(ish).  It has been a roller coaster ride most of the time.  It's kind of the nature of this untested, new technology market.  This pull back isn't the first, and wont be the last.  I've seen gains happen just as fast as the drops.  To be sure, investing in this is not for the feint of heart.  I've had many stomach aches along the way..lol.

I hope you've done a little research before hand, to know the technology you were investing in.  If so, you should feel confident with your decision that crypto can truly be revolutionary.  Without a full understanding of the power of blockchain or DLT, it might leave you left wondering.  May I suggest you look up some "TED Talk" blockchain videos on Youtube. The many different guest discuss how this technology can change and solve problems of the world.  Even if you have a general idea, do some deeper research.  Get to know all the in's and out's.  I think with a greater understanding, it'll put your mind at ease.

Then go one step further...go through all the DNotes forum posts and DNotes Youtube video's.  Really understand what DNotes is building.  I think you will find there's no other project out there better positioned right now than DNotes.  This should give you comfort as well.

Hopefully you didn't go all in with your investment.  With dollars on the side, you should have comfort knowing you can still pay bills, live life normally, and maybe have a little left to average in with at these low prices.  Also, have a longer term investment vision of 2+ years.  Don't have a day trader mentality.  Very, very few people can trade this market and become millionaires, like some like to portray.  This market is very unpredictable, and probably has eaten up those traders.  Holding in a great project like DNotes, is the best way, IMO, for newcomers and veteran's alike to be successful in the long run.

As someone mentioned before, you only lose money if you sell.  Buying high and selling low is the worst decision, IMO.  I personally have taken the mentality that I would rather just go down with the ship, than sell low, only to have the market rebound and then you're really kicking yourself.  This keeps me sleeping well at night.

IMO, there is a lot of unfounded FUD out there right now.  A lot of main stream news that is blown way out of proportion, or out right lies.  (This seems to be M.O. anymore)  Some of the bad news is true, but with it, hopefully we'll see a lot of these scam "platforms", crap coins and ICO's get thrown out with the trash.  This industry has been in need of a clean up, and will only strengthen it in the long run.  Not to mention, January typically tends to be a bad time for crypto's.  (I wish I was better at history myself).  All the fundamentals are the same as they were a month or two ago, if not better.  It was only around Dec. 10th when we crossed the same overall market cap we're at right now.

If anything, just step away from coinmarketcap for a while.  Stop watching the daily or hourly price.  Let things settle down.  (btw...i find www.livecoinwatch.com a better website)  Like it's been said before, only you know what's best for you and your situation.  For me, I haven't flinched (much) because I believe DNotes, and crypto in general has a huge future ahead.  I'm confident and excited for the rest of 2018 and beyond.  I'm glad you found DNotes, and hope you'll stay around.

A few questions to clarify a bit more.  "2% is the target for the whole network. A target of 2% of total coins will be released as staking reward every year."

This 2% is based on coins in existence?  So, approximately 131,300,000 (today) x .02 = 2,626,000 per year/total reward?  Which is also the total inflation (plus CRISP rewards)?

From what I understand, this is a little less than what miners are getting right now?  (Not necessarily a bad thing)

Do you feel this percentage is enough incentive for people to stake and secure the network?

I've read other coins are up to 10%.  Different inflation model, but just curious your thoughts.

From what I read earlier, there will be no master nodes?

With the deferred/cold staking, could it be possible to do this from a mobile device?

Can we use our CRISP to stake with?

What are the terms for CRISP or penalties for withdraw from CRISP?

I think I know the answers to most of these, but I thought a little clarification would be good.

"This 2% is based on coins in existence?  So, approximately 131,300,000 (today) x .02 = 2,626,000 per year/total reward?  Which is also the total inflation (plus CRISP rewards)?"
Roughly speaking, yes. For inflation, yes, and would need to include CRISP.

"From what I understand, this is a little less than what miners are getting right now?  (Not necessarily a bad thing)"
Correct, miners receive about 1,000,000 a month now. With 130,000,000 in distribution, the maximum reward, with everyone participating in every program to the fullest, it would be a bit less at around 900,000 initially.

"Do you feel this percentage is enough incentive for people to stake and secure the network?" & "I've read other coins are up to 10%.  Different inflation model, but just curious your thoughts."
Yes! Especially when considering the less people that participate in staking, the higher the yield for the user.

"From what I read earlier, there will be no master nodes? "
Correct, initially, but that doesn't mean we won't ever have a master node or master node like concept to perform other functions.

"With the deferred/cold staking, could it be possible to do this from a mobile device?"
Not sure I understand the question correctly, but it's all possible, just may not be practical.

"Can we use our CRISP to stake with? "
The same coins will be available for staking as well as CRISP simultaneously. There may be some guidelines to follow to do this properly, and consequently a compounded long term scaling issue to address, but the short answer is yes. We are working to make it as seamless and the least technologically burdensome process possible given the requirements.

"What are the terms for CRISP or penalties for withdraw from CRISP?"
No penalties to speak of. If the coins are in the wallet, and have remained in the wallet for the required amount of time, you will receive the appropriate reward. 30 day and 365 day periods.

Thank you for the answers and clarity.  How exciting.  All those above mentioned are great benefits for DNotes coin holders.  Just another part of the overall picture that will have DNotes noticed coming soon.

What I'm asking about the mobile staking is; From what I understand, we'll be able to stake from a wallet on our PC that holds no coins (QT or different version).  It'll be connected to the vault.  In order to stake though, we'll need to run this wallet on our PC full time (if we wanted the full rewards).  This sometimes isn't always practical.  Could this type of wallet be used on a mobile platform that is pretty much online the whole time?

MECHETO, This is not a pump and dump project.  If you have been reading the forum, you should know that DNotes is still a bit out before launching the new blockchain.  This is a long term project, so sit back and relax.  Maybe have some fun day trading other coins.
