Victor Yermak is the Smartlands’ Director of Business Development and an expert in the area of cloud computing. An IT industry veteran with more than 17 years of progressing experience, Victor has spent 10 years in various leadership roles.

Victor was among the key contributors to the expansion of Kvazar-Micro in CEE (Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Romania) and CIS (Russia and Kazakhstan) in 2002 – 2007. As International Business Development Director he closely collaborated with global and local partner organizations to ensure the success of multiple strategic initiatives.

A year later, in 2008, Victor joined Sitronics Information Technologies in Ukraine, a system integration part of an LSE-listed technology conglomerate (LSE: SITR) and served as Head of Innovations and R&D for 2 years.

In 2010, Mr. Yermak became a Director of Business Development of KM Ware, a division of KM Core technology investment holding. He was responsible for driving the development of a full range of company products including SAP and cloud services, vertical cloud computing software products for emergency/healthcare services, construction, and agribusiness for the next 4 years.

In 2014, Victor joined eFarmer, a cloud farm management system. He was responsible for the development of partnership network and selling.

In January 2015 Victor Yermak became a CEO of Skyglyph (the Smartlands’ partner), a cloud-based platform that has developed a proven technology to effectively evaluate agricultural assets and convert that evaluation into actionable Big Data. He is responsible for operative management of company and product strategy.

Victor Yermak — was nominated as one of four finalists in The Digital Insurer Award 2017 in the Start-Up InsurTech category. Also Skyglyph took 2d place in the INSURY STARTUP AWARD 2017 and included in the list of top 100 insurtech companies by version DIA TOP 100 INSURTECH.

The main mission of Smartlands Platform is the creation of new class of low-risk tokens based on real high-profitable assets. This new class of tokens – called Asset Based Tokens (ABTs) – to be issued on Smartlands Platform and will favor significant demand from investors, while tokenized business is motivated to cooperate with Platform to issue tokens (you can find additional information about ABTs in our Whitepaper).

The major idea of Smartlands Platform is the tokenization of agricultural assets. In the process of tokenization of the agricultural assets, we also deal with the tokenization of the the real economy assets that are closely related to agriculture (e.g. walnut processing line, pig farms, grain elevators). It means that our platform must be suitable for both farms/orchards and other production assets. Taking a closer look at the issue we decided to expand Platforms coverage to real economy assets, especially related to agriculture, given there is no other tokenization protocol similar to ours.

There are at least 3 major problems for all types of businesses, that Smartlands Platform can solve:

- Chaotic, confusing and unclear token issues;
- Extreme volatility of tokens and no safe haven assets in crypto universe;
- No secure protocol to tokenize assets.

Smartlands Platform will solve the aforementioned problems by:

- Maximal transparency and accountability;
- Risk protection provided by collateral of the assets;
- Standardization of token issues and regulation to protect investor interests with rules set by voting (powered by distributed ledger of Stellar network).

Thus, there is a lot of value we can provide for real economy businesses in tokenization of their assets. The only missing link for providing “all-in-one services” by Smartlands is industry specific audits of assets. To fill the gap we will partner with specialized companies that performs such audits in line with our standards: maximal transparency, distributed database of results and use of cutting-edge technologies. By no means we abandon agriculture though. We expand our services into tokenization of real economy assets as we don’t want to deprive SLT holders from great opportunities. Still tokenization of agricultural assets is our major focus and core idea.

Launch of the beta version of Smartlands Platform

February 2, 2017 Smartlands has achieved a milestone in its mission of bringing the benefits of blockchain and cryptocurrency to agriculture and real economy sector. We have released a beta version of Platform, which consists of Smartlands Wallet and an updated product site.

Successful bidding on SDEX

Trading of SLT on SDEX in January moved to absolutely new level in both volume of trading and price. Daily trading volume of SLT has surpassed 500 000 USD, while the price soared above 5 USD/SLT. SLT was the biggest gainer on Coinmarketcap for 3 consecutive days (24 hours) and biggest weekly gainer with price growth of 1500%. SDEX has proved to be a robust and reliable exchange with steadily increasing number of traders. Thus we expect further increase in trading volume.

New exchanges

At the moment, Smartlands is negotiating with several popular exchanges. For technical reasons, the process of listing of the Stellar-based tokens takes more time than we expected. But we are proud to bear the status of a pioneer and in the near future we will please our community and all interested investors with new listings.
