121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *** KOOLIO'S ALL COIN ESCROW SERVICE *** [1 - 3% FEE] on: June 01, 2013, 01:22:08 PM
Not using your service because you swore at me in the forum and threw a tantrum like a child a few weeks back. In fact your entire attitude to everyone in that feathercoin topic where you tried to buy some was shockingly rude.

Learnt to conduct yourself on the forum in a professional manner if you ever plan to launch a service to people. I for one wouldn't trust someone like that with $1.

I agree koolio is a complete kid, I would not use this service if you paid me

The trollbox is a breading ground for degenerates and spammers. The mods have a close to impossible task on their hands, in my opinion. If I spend enough time reading those baseless and nauseating spam messages, I start to lose faith in humanity (as if I needed any more reasons to). As much as I love the trollbox for its ability to spread information about the markets quickly (when you're dealing with reasonable people), when its being flooded with "SELL ALL YOUR XYZ"/"XYZ is DEAD"/"LTC ON GOX"/"FUCK THE JEWS", it becomes an incredibly obnoxious environment. I wouldn't wish moderator status on my worst enemy. At least I can stop paying attention and work on my projects. If it was my job to read through the entire chat log, I'd probably snap at some point and just ban everyone for a day, in order to shut-up the obnoxious voices that had invaded my head. Just my two feathercoins...
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need to find out some real use of bitcoin on: June 01, 2013, 04:59:58 AM

You don't need to "find" real uses for Bitcoin. Millions of dollars worth are being transacted every day. Apparently someone is using them. You could argue that speculation isn't the best use of it, but keep in mind that it is still incredibly young, and still very obscure (despite being trumpeted on major news media in this last year). Patience is a dying virtue. We need to breathe some life back into it. Don't worry about Bitcoin losing ways to be used. If that's your concern, then ask yourself what are you doing to strengthen this new economy? Are you hoarding coins in defense of inflation or are you using them as a medium for exchanging value (i.e. purchasing goods and services with them). Be the change you want to see.
123  Economy / Trading Discussion / Web Based Technical Analysis/Automated Trading Service on: June 01, 2013, 02:12:01 AM

I'm in the process of developing a web based technical analysis service for crypto-currencies. It will have normal and automated trading capabilities in addition to advanced charting/analysis tools. As of right now, BTC-e and MtGox are the only exchanges that I've integrated into the platform. More exchange integration is sure to come, although I'm seriously considering dropping Gox support (I want to do my part to undermine its market centralization, however insignificant my impact might be). My bots are basically all written up and feature many high level functions, but I was just wondering what sorts of end-user analysis functionality people would want to see in a service like this. Other suggestions are more than welcome. Feel free to rip apart my idea.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-Qt / bitcoind 0.8.2 (final) available on: May 30, 2013, 02:28:34 AM
I was waiting for this new release to really start developing my web service. Now basically all the puzzle pieces are in their box. Can't wait to sink my teeth in. Cheers!
125  Economy / Services / Re: *** KOOLIO'S ALL COIN ESCROW SERVICE *** [1 - 3% FEE] on: May 30, 2013, 12:22:21 AM

Koolio is an upstanding young chap. He has my full trust and support. If there's any question of his trustworthiness/legitimacy, I hope this post lends some peace of mind, however insignificant my voice might be.
126  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Worth looking into for Bitcoin 1.0? on: May 28, 2013, 01:33:14 AM

As I mentioned, it's not in production stages yet, but I have a feeling there will be interest in it from the non-Bitcoin community, which might see it through to becoming an industry standard one day (maybe too hopeful on my part). This sort of crypto protocol would be SO incredibly useful for services like Tor and Bitcoin. Maybe we have some hardware people on the forums which might be able to craft some prototypes? (again, maybe unrealistic on my part)
127  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Worth looking into for Bitcoin 1.0? on: May 27, 2013, 08:37:23 PM

Is this not the board to post this in? Thought there would be more interest...
128  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Worth looking into for Bitcoin 1.0? on: May 27, 2013, 04:54:57 AM
Maybe it's just me, but this is beyond cool. Hopefully I'll live to see this in action on the Bitcoin network (if and when it ever reaches production stage).

129  Other / Meta / Re: Is This Forum Degenerating? on: May 27, 2013, 03:01:59 AM

At this moment the thread right under this one is "Should Bitcoin form a freedom fighters army?".

I'd say that's a breeding ground for degenerates

130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when the US makes crypto-currency illegal? on: May 27, 2013, 02:31:04 AM

Just like the price of anything that becomes prohibited by law (and for which there still exists an enormous demand for), Bitcoin's value will skyrocket through a few thousand dollars at least. While doing business in BTC will no doubt become close to impossible in broad daylight, keep in mind that there's always Tor (however slow and tedious).

no.
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is being killed by governments and nobody seems to care! on: May 26, 2013, 04:01:02 AM

check it. Is it just me or is this finally an implementable p2p exchange protocol?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=212490.0;all

It would be more correctly described as P2P price/trade discovery messaging mechanism married to a decentralised clearing/settlement system ... but basically, yes.

I'm still researching the nitty gritty details, but this seems like it could be what we've been waiting/looking for. Currently reading up on SEPA.

A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51 percent of the people may take away the rights of the other 49.

That's not how the us government works.

The president isn't chosen by popular vote, and presidents have lost the popular vote and still won the election. Representatives and senators are voted in by localities and represent the interests of the individual states they serve (not 51% of the country).

51% of the votes in this country gets you nothing.

That's a false argument. Maybe it would be better to say democracy in the US is tyranny of 70% against the 30% (70% of the votes basically guarantees that you'll win in any US election, period).

Keep in mind that even if it was a popular vote with a 51% majority rule, because the participation rate is so ridiculously low (2008 was a highly anomalous 60%, usually it's around 50%), in reality only 26% of the voting eligible population would establish the majority rule...

137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Primer for a P2P Distributed Exchange on: May 24, 2013, 05:06:33 AM
As the OP has pointed out, there's one MAJOR link in the chain missing. You can't send a physical good like paper Fiat over the internet.

This might be one of the p2p threads he's talking about that's been popping up recently.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=207764.0;all

It may be extreme, but it could provide ideas for better plans. I'm looking forward to seeing p2p bitcoin exchanging come to fruition. Not only can it happen...It must happen.

wants to allow a quasi-currency to fund terrorism.  Nor do I.

The drug war does more to fund terrorism than anything Bitcoin could ever do. Only 20% of Afghanistan men can read. Do you really think they are using Bitcoin? I live among them, they do not even know how to use a toilet properly let alone a crypto currency. Whoever is telling you that all of these restrictions they are putting on Americans' freedoms is to help stop terrorists is blowing a lot of smoke up your ass.

like the government I am far more concerned about iran than Afghanistan.

Your concern is a paranoid delusion, unlike the government's which is based on strategies for geopolitical dominance.

Referring to the indigenous American populations, in case anyone didn't get that...

100 million is highly disputable. There were not statistics at that time. Region of 15 million is more realistic. But still very high.

Disputable yes, but not unfounded.
