Hints to what's Ralph's last name in my PM box in 5...4...3...  Shocked

You're slipping Gleb, we already know Ralph's last name is Crowder.  He was outed several pages back.

Does anyone know if the 4 power inputs on the SP20 are independent?  ie: can I use multiple separate PSUs w/o causing a problem?  I looked on the product page but didn't see anything in the specs either way.

Guy (Spondoolies-tech) already posted about it:

you can use 2X600W PSU
or 4X300W PSU according to him (perhaps he was joking about the latter one) with the only caveat that PCIE connector has to be rated for ~300W (ATX)-this is actually in bold red in TOS for Sp-20. This information is typically not readily available, but can be had from manufacturers on request.
Seasonic X-1050 and EVGA 1300 have this type of connectors. First-according to Guy, second-according to the post on the KNC forum that I cited beforehand.

You can use 2x PSUs but NOT 4x. Each pair of PCI-E connectors is electrically separate across 12V, but within the pair its not.

I think you are confusing the AntMiner S3 with the SP-20 I asked Spondoolies directly and they said, "Yes, the power connectors are independent. You can use 4 small PSUs, assuming the PCIe connector can handle 300 Watt"

Are their any details on the next gen IP?  I would think it would have to be 16nm or 14nm and be in the sub 0.10 J/GH to stay competitive.  The real question is how much additional work/money is needed to make this a working chip.

You can contact the Hashfast CRO if you are interested, they would have the details you are looking for.  There are supposedly 3 generations of IP, 1, 1.5, and 2.

Btw, I would like to know more about Ralph's involvement with HF. Did I really pay that idiot to troll me?

Yup, you sure did.

Do you have one for the IBM 2000W

Not on the shelf but we can do a custom order for almost any power supply at customer request.  Typical lead time for a custom order is 3 - 8 weeks depending on your lead time vs. cost requirements and availability of the required connectors.  Typical minimum order is going to be 100 - 300 boards to be cost effective but it varies by PSU.

We are temporarily out of cables we expect more by Sept. 17th.

Still have plenty of stock of boards for both the DPS-800GBA, and CS (DPS-1200FBA, etc...) in stock.
128  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S1 keeps burning out PSU on: September 11, 2014, 05:35:44 PM
I have gone through 2 power supplies in 24 hours
every time i connect it runs at 180 gh and gives of a buring smell
i clipped the blue wire to make the fan run at full speed, why do my power supply keep buring out? they overheat and die
has anyone heard of this?

Sounds like you are using cheapo PSUs.  I use the HP DPS-800GBA + Gigampz breakout board for all my S3's they are reliable as heck I've never had one fail and each one can power 2 S3's either stock clocks or over clocked.

129  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: What PSU you use for your antminer S3? on: September 11, 2014, 05:33:19 PM
It says it needs 340W at the wall, so what PSU we should use at least to be safe?

Also seems like a lot of manufacturers are setting their W rates really freely. I see chinese 500W PSUs for $15 and other more brand ones for like $70?!

You can use a HP DPS-800GBA 850 Watt server PSU to power two S3's on either stock or over clocked with Gigampz breakout board as described in this thread...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=622783.0

They are industrial strength so they don't crap out like some of the cheaper PSUs and the total cost per S3 comes out to less than $40.  Also the 850 Watt rating is 100% available on a single 12 volt rail so you don't have the problem with cheaper PSUs where it is rated for 600 Watts but only a fraction of that can be used on the PCIe connectors.

^^ Faboo!
Have you figured out the connections for n+1 operation? That would be icing on the cake.

No, sorry, we looked at it but couldn't get n+1 for a reasonable cost since it would require bus bars between the boards to do it safely.
As a ready-made assembly, ja. Still... Do you know/can tell us the control pins used to sense the slave buses? Others should be for setting current limit and supply status.

I'm pretty sure that pin can also be used for remote sensing at the load point to make up for drop over the power leads as well as letting you set the voltage out using a pot or external reference source.

I strongly suspect it is pin 38 but I wasn't able confirm 100% before a lightning storm took out my test server.

How can we tell if the HP PSU is a "Common Slot Power Supply"?

Generally speaking they all have the same physical appearance.  A single fan at the rear of the PSU with a pull handle, 1 U thickness and a 64-pin board edge connector.

If you search for "Common Slot" on Google or ebay you will be able to find listings of exact part numbers.  They come in wattage from 460 up to 1600 but 750, 1200 are the most common and most of them are silver efficiency or better.

Is there an ETA on the CS versions? I know you said prototypes were in the works. Just curious to know when to expect them.

Gigampz CS boards are now in-stock.  These boards work with any HP Common Slot power supply (ie: DSP-1200FBA, etc...) which come in a wide range of wattages and efficiency ratings.  We have a limited number so for now we are sticking to selling them in the forum only.  Pricing is as follows including shipping in the US.

     1+  $43
     5+  $40
   10+  $38
   20+  $36
   50+  $34
 100+  $32
 121    $31 (entire stock)

PM or contact sales@gigampz.com to order

So if I order a Hash Fast today when will it ship?  Tongue

Lots of talk here, but no answers.  What is the plan, what is the CRO doing?  Who has the assets?  Who's in charge?  When do creditors see any money?  Where is the creditor committee plan-- they were so vocal and are now silent.... oh god we screwed up?  Maybe just a bit?  What the hell is going on?  One of their vendors has been going nuts because they apparently sold inventory that was recently bought buy LiquidBits to another customer.  Can't they even get inventory reporting right with the CRO on board now?  WTF?  Where is the reorg plan and what is Eddie up to now, and where are all the millions that Simon claims that his IP brain is worth?  And the creditors committee is now doing what?

I'm confused you post all these breathless rants about how no one is telling you what is going on and then you claim in the next sentence that you have inside knowledge of the operations of some HF vendor?  You sound like you are just here to sow FUD.

I'm not sure why you thought the CRO would fix this situation over night but that just isn't the way the world works.  Good progress is being made though.  The public court documents answer almost all of your questions.  If you are having trouble reading and understanding them then I suggest you hire a lawyer to explain to you how it all works.

Quote
What is the plan, what is the CRO doing?
The plan is to get as much money as possible for the creditors.  The CRO is working in San Francisco and directly overseeing and executing the day to day work of making that happen.  That includes things like selling what can be sold, licensing what can be licensed, and other business negotiations that will return money.

Quote
Who has the assets?
The locations of the various assets are listed in the court document titled "Schedule B Personal Property" DOC#84.  In short they are in multiple locations including Canada, Korea, and California.

Quote
Who's in charge?
The CRO is in charge as of two weeks ago.

Quote
When do creditors see any money?
This question has been answered several times.  The deadline for filing claims in October 2014.  No money gets paid out until after that date.  Any money recovered between now and then gets put into an account that is monitored by the US Bankruptcy Trustee and will be returned to creditors some time after that October deadline.  If you have questions about how bankruptcy works you should contact your lawyer or call the US Bankruptcy trustee's office and ask them.

You'll have to confirm with them but it's my understanding they have GN1 chips, whole wafers, and ATX power supplies that are basically shipping immediately from stock.

So which BTC ASIC company is more successful than KnC?

Bitmain.  They are the only ones that have consistently met their deadlines and specs and in the one case where they had a small miss on specs they compensated customers proportionately.  Spondoolies is the only other manufacture even close.  It's notable that both of these companies appear to have had their R&D funded by private investment.

All the other manufactures in hindsight appear to be thinly veiled schemes to use customer money to finance R&D which they then use to build private mines once all the risk has been eliminated with other people's money.

Hashfast lead everyone to believe that their R&D had been privately funded but we now know that was false and they were using customer money to fund and operate the company.  Money which was not rightfully theirs since they hadn't yet shipped any products.

tried putting a load on it with about 6 case fans, it still failed to stay on.

Sounds like a case of POS PSU.

Guys...
Today, I received another 2 letters from US Bankruptcy Court Northern District of California.

First letter provides an advise about filing a claim. Which I already did online and I also send a letter directly to Office of The Clerk US Bankruptcy Court Northern District of California. Office of The Clerk replied that they received my form online and that I am already on the list of creditors.

Second letter provides a list of all creditors. I have not found my name on the list again.

I realy don't understand it. What should I think about it now. Does anyone know why I am still not on the list despite the confirmation from the clerk?

Hard to say w/o knowing what your name is.  If they are sending you notices though your name must be on some list.
