5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Diversification in cryptocurrency is a bad idea on: August 10, 2018, 02:36:43 PM
Overall the article is right - the market is still extremely inter-connected. That may have to do that almost all altcoins are traded mostly in Bitcoin.

But I've observed that the success of a "diversifying" strategy has to do with the phase the market is currently in. So a good observer can achieve advantages diversifying and "un-diversifying" at the right moment.

The stats in the article you linked, for example, show that altcoins often exaggerate mid-term movements. For example, the last bullish cycle in Bitcoin in late 2017 was crazy, but much crazier in most altcoins. In contrast, in 2018 most altcoins fell much deeper than Bitcoin.

This shows us that - in contrast to most diversifying strategies at the stock market - a "diversifying" strategy in cryptocurrencies is not a good idea if you want to protect yourself from price drops. Instead, just in market phases where it's clearly visible that a crazy bubble is happening, it's best to gradually "un-diversify" - that means: gradually swap your altcoins for Bitcoin.

There are very few examples of cryptocurrencies that did better in bear markets than Bitcoin (Decred, for example, is one; Ethereum at least didn't lose as much at others), but it's difficult to predict which they are.

I can't say that I disagree to what you are saying. Because trend of alts are pretty much same as bitcoin. It goes up when bitcoin goes up and vice versa. So diversifying between altcoins may not be a very wise idea until the investor knows when exactly to square off their position.

However, un-diversifying doesn't necessarily mean to swap the altcoins to bitcoin only. I personally prefer stable coin and I always maintain some liquidity in hand to take advantage of any situation. I usually do it uaing stablecoin only without touching the bitcoin in most of the times.

I prefer to buy alts at the bear market using my stable coin and sell those alts at bull market to get back my capital and profits in stable coin.

However, for a person who just want to hold for longer time, the best coin is bitcoin for them. But for a person who is willing to take calculated risk, should not bound themselves only to bitcoin as market presents hundreds of opportunities for them to cash on.

I agree with you, i don’t swap alts just to buy bitcoin i prefer to buy stable coin especially in bear market which is more profitable in the long run when it goes back to bullish market. And i prefer to buy it in bitcoin market because when i sell it, automatically i hold Bitcoin which is higher value than the stablecoin.

Shut down telegram channel and exchange delisted coins is a signal for it's already become scam/dead coins, why you think bounty hunter not a big loss? I think bounty hunter same as investor, we use our time to exchange tokens rewards, it's a real money if we sold it early, but decided holding and wait for better profit, project owner run away, all of us also nagging that we are being scam
Me as bounty hunter i really want a good ICO to participate because my time and effort is at stake. But in my post, my position in this scam project is much more better than the investors who invested their hard earned money than my time and effort that we both loss in this scam. I hope this scams one day will stop to regain the trust of the investors in this crypto market.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is that possible? on: August 07, 2018, 02:15:00 AM
In my recent bounty participation, all is good and i have been paid in all my hardwork. The tokens that i hardly earned is already in my ethereum wallet and the coin is already traded in forkdelta. But suddenly the telegram channel of the bounty shut down and also the forkdelta is delisting the coin. My question is, is this possible that even the traded coin can be end up a scam? as a bounty hunter it’s not a big loss but i’m pitty on the part of the investors that nagging that they are being scam. How?

I feel sorry for those who invested in the ICO. It's now obvious that the ICO is a scam and the tokens derived from it automatically become shit or dead coins.

I am bounty hunter too and I very sorry for all investors for their money in ICO also, because in this year I saw very much scam project, from 50 campaigns only 2-5 projects will be traded on some exchanges.
I am also a bounty hunter and that is absolutely true that nowadays there are only few ICO’s are really going to be listed in exchange. In my experience although you make all the effort to research all the info about the project and being listed in an exchange is not a guarantee to be a true project, some are purely scam but you will noticed it at the end of the campaign.

Anything is possible here most especially those traded in smaller exchanges and I think ForkDelta is categorized under this though am not saying that if one is in that exchange then it should be suspected as a scam. The point is that in cryptocurrency anybody can start a blockchain-based or token-based project, get funded, get traded and then slowly let the project die its natural death...then create another project again. This is what scammers are doing and I pity those people who will believe on them and their promises. You see, this is the biggest problem with cryptocurrency it has become so easy for scammers to exploit the platform for their evil intent and for now there is not so much we can do about it except being vigilant and not be one of their victim statistics.
Yes i think this is what happened to me and others that joined this project. It hurt that in reality this is commonly occured and unevitable. I hope there will be some way to avoid this kind of scam scheme in cryptocurrency.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Determination is power on: August 02, 2018, 02:31:20 PM
I have noticed in crypto currency space that people find it difficult to focus and be determined to succeed in crypto
People tend to forget that millions is not made in a day;

But to be sincere I think when we are determined to make it
Crypto is the home for everyone
Most of the newbies and the newcomers think that way. They think that they can earn millions in just a few weeks of working here in crypto world which is not true. In reality it takes a long time to earn that huge income but in proper strategy you can earn it but you have to be patient and smart to gain more in this kind of business. Determination and hard work is the key factors to be successful in crypto currency.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fear for empty balance in future.. on: August 02, 2018, 02:26:34 PM
I am very afraid for my crypto balance. At present I have some coin.I brought this coin previous december month. But at this time my balance to become very small. So I feel fear for see empty balance in future.Any one can advice me now what i am doing. Will I sell or hold my coins?
It depends on what coin you are holding. If you want to gain more in your investment then HODL it until it reaches your target price of selling. It is starting to bull run and almost all alts are going up right now maybe your coin is one of them you should take a look at the market and check it if you gain or not.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Cryptocurrency Stand Without Bitcoin? on: July 28, 2018, 03:17:36 PM
I mean Why bitcoin? As everyone know bitcoin is useless in terms
of usability.

Bitcoin has lot more uses in people who has lot of money because they uses it as a form of asset to hide their wealth in the form of bitcoins. Some people uses it as a form of payments inside or outside the country and whoever allows or accept bitcoin as payment. I think that is a lot more of a usage and that is why bitcoin becomes number one in the market right now.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How long do we have to wait? on: July 22, 2018, 02:47:27 PM
As i have observed, after a bounty campaign finishes, the distribution of reward tokens/stakes took place after the completion of all the ICO's crowdsales. And remind you, that took months. Some ICO's even have to wait for their soft cap to be reached before giving us our dues. And in addition to that, we still have to wait for a couple of months more for those tokens to be listed in exchanges.
Why do "we"(bounty participants) have to wait that long to finally enjoy the fruit of our labor? Don't these ICO's have some starting funds to begin with? Or were they totally dependent to incoming investors for funds?

There is nothing we can do about that man. All you have to do is be patient and wait, bounty hunters mostly are always on the hurry to dump off their hard earned coin even if the price is so low. Most bounty project, from the start they stated when will be the distribution and how long it will take. You as a bounty applicant already read the rules and agree with it, then why are you complaining about this point?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you stay informed about Altcoins? on: July 22, 2018, 02:37:38 PM
There are now many hundreds of Altcoin and token projects. Most of you will certainly be invested in many. How do you manage to keep informed about them? Do you use special websites or tools as well as strategies not to miss anything?
To stay updated, i usually join the telegram group of the alts i’m investing. I also put my alts in my blockfolio to stay updated with the price fluctuations and possible loss or gain. For me there is nothing special tools to stay informed all the news and update are all in the web and their social media accounts.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to have bitcoin shortage? on: July 21, 2018, 03:09:02 PM
I do not think that bitcoin will be enough if the whole people around the world will going to buy bitcoins. There will be too much shortage on bitcoin supply and this will lead also to have an expensive market price for bitcoin. As we all know that there are billions of people around the world and bitcoin supply is only limited. So meaning to say in the near future there will be a shortage for bitcoin supply and thus will lead to create another dominant coin like having ether as one of the possibilities that it will be the next to bitcoin. As of this moment i am seeing this already closely to happen. What do you think?
If the demand of bitcoin increases and if the billiion of people are using bitcoin, i think you anticipated well what will happen in bitcoin in the near future. The price of bitcoin will rise up and people can have a satoshi valued a $10k each i think it will be enough for the demand of billion people. But there are alternate of bitcoin, that is why there are lot of altcoins created to alternate bitcoin to replace some part of it to use as payment, etc. Increasing demand won’t be a big problem in crypto currency.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kick against btc now and regret in future. on: July 21, 2018, 02:56:27 PM
Money is what the society accepts to be money. Human history has seen so many transformations when it comes to the subject of money. From barter trade to fiat money and now digital currency. But some nations are so rigid to change.well they will all regret soon because no country can stop cryptocurrency.
Transformation of currency is a part of the human society, crypto currencies are one of the transformation that you mentioned. However some countries are trying to regulate this crypto currency just for their own benefit. Nothing can stop crypto and someday every country in the world are free to use crypto and not regulated by some government.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Failed Projects Returning Investors Money on: July 13, 2018, 02:00:09 PM
I invested in one pre-ICO back in November (Heardbeats), I liked the concept and it seemed like a promising project at the time. Unfortunately they folded recently as they couldn't get the partnerships they needed to move the project forward. On the upside, they did return the original investment, albeit at the current dollar value, so lost almost 50%. However, I did respect their honesty and commitment to returning as much as possible to the early investors.

Another project I invested in also folded a couple of months back, and I received an email from them saying they were going to return the investment. Still waiting for that one.

Anyone else have any experience with refunds (or not)?
Your experience is one of the lucky cases of an ICO failed and returning their investments to their investors. I don’t participate in an ICO because mostly they don’t return the initial investment when they fail and most of the time they run all the money they get from investors and that is why im afraid to invest in new ICO’s recently.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not fear the red market and believe in the future of cryptocurrencies! on: July 13, 2018, 01:48:48 PM
I don't think so. The market for a few days has only been temporary. I don't need to panic. My funds have already shrunk a lot, but I still believe that everything will pass and will not affect the future. What do you think?
I don’t think these are all temporary, what market has become because of lack of demands from investors and if it still continues this red market also continues. Yes it can affect the future because depending on the recent market demand it will determine the future. Nice to know that you have a strong hands and have some patience, you will need that especially in this market crisis because it will take time to the market to recover.
