as far as the hosting please go back and read my last post, I dont want this site on some crappy vps - dont you get what im saying? this is a big money site and I need to move it to some premium hosting services. I don't need you to set something up for me, please drop it.

As far as emails - I am mostly caught up on them - if you sent it more than 1-2 days ago its possible i missed it and I would resend it

if you are only waiting 1-2 days for a response you will get one sometime later today.

I'm leaving now taking the kids to the movies

Ill be back later - if anyone really needs me call 315 514 0269
222  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 08, 2012, 07:14:21 PM
its not being unable at all, its about time and about a lot of other things which I really don't feel like explaining to you.

I am capable of changing the breaks and the oil in my car but It's much easier to go to the dealership and pay them to do it - as well as a nice wash and detail.

I am running a business which will gross over half a million dollars this year, all while having to handle customer service and the logistics of managing engineers, designers and developers all over the world.

The web hosting company was basically just a hobby, BTCFPGA/BitcoinASIC has outgrown BTCWebhost and its time to move on to bigger and better things.
223  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Giving Away a FREE 840Mh/s ModMiner Quad FPGA Miner Every Week in October! on: October 08, 2012, 07:07:38 PM
Wait nevermind, BFL is having another contest at the same time, and their miner has more mhash/s. The modminer looks cooler though, so you should be happy.
that is a total lie.

For one thing theirs ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT have more Mh/s

and for another the Modminer Quad is TWICE AS EFFICIENT as the BFL Bitforce Single!

You better Look Again:

ModMinerQuad: 840+Mh/s @ 40watts

BFL BitForce Single: 832Mh/s @ 80 watts

(from http://www.butterflylabs.com/products/)

twice the energy efficiency means twice the profits.

The product they are giving away uses twice the electrical usage as the ModMiner Quad, and our prize ships via USPS Express Overnight. You will have it on your doorstep 1 day after the competition ends. Good luck waiting for your BFL Single, aren't people who purchased them still waiting weeks for them to be delivered?

you know last year hostgator offered to buy out BTCWebHost.com - no joke.

We ended up declining the offer but it was a big surprise - that we got that kind of attention.

Sorry, i don't get it.

You own a hosting company and have problems hosting a website?

Yes your right you dont get it.

BTCWebHost.com
BitcoinWebHost.com
BitcoinWebHosting.com
BitcoinVPS.com

I own all of these and they point to the same web hosting service which I also own, its a really neat service where you can signup and get instant account activation paid with Bitcoin.

This is all through WHMCS and a reseller hosting account through neosurge.

See Cpanel Licenses are EXTREMELY expensive and it makes absolutely no sense to get a dedicated server, and setup a complete hosting setup from scratch and spend thousands of dollars on licenses and thousands of hours on development when I can just buy a hosting reseller account through an outfit like neosurge and sell automated setup cpanel hosting accounts for bitcoins and have very low monthly hosting fees. BTCWebhost was the first dedicated Bitcoin web hosting service and is still #1 in Bitcoin accepting web hosting services.

It was neosurge who screwed up the billing and caused the false suspension - think of them as my hosting companies uplink.

I am not going to be moving the whole web hosting company - I already pre-paid for a year and most of my customers are pretty happy, its just btcfpga.com and bitcoinasic.com that I will be moving to a new web host. See most web sites are not under a microscope 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There are plenty of web sites that if they go down for a few hours no one even notices, but in the Bitcoin world things are a little different, people are watching every second of every day so you have to be vigilant with those types of sites. I host 100s of other websites and I am sure none of them even noticed the 6 hour outage - it was in the middle of the night and on a sunday. Its really no big deal for a regular website - shit happens.

with that being said I am still moving btcfpga.com and bitcoinasic.com - I was planning to all along to coincide with the launch of our new website - but this last little incident has motivated me to make it happen sooner.

227  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: frank90 on: October 08, 2012, 05:14:26 PM
ohh wow thats strange

Yeah that seems like a lie to me as well

if he said someone broke into your email address - thats a little different.

See now that makes me think that there is something about the way he gets these egift cards that he does not want us to know about - it sounds like the cards just go bad after awhile and he does not want us to know why.

that is sketchy...
228  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: frank90 on: October 08, 2012, 04:56:38 PM
FWIW:

I purchased several of these egift cards - going back many months

and then $1000 worth recently.

Never had any problems, this last time I bought them I actually called up the Home Depot customer service number and spoke to someone - I told them I purchased the gift cards online and wanted to make sure they were legitimate and not purchased with a stolen credit card or anything before I went ahead and used them. She told me they appeared to be legitimate and also said there are many ways people can get these legitimately without buying them, and that is why they can sell them at a discount.

I am really sorry you lost some money on this but from my dealings with him I believe that the egift cards were good when you received them and therefore he is not a scammer
scamming is intentionally ripping someone off. Believe it or not its very possible someone hacked his machine and copied the egift cards - they are just pdf files, its a totally believable situation, especially since he has been doing this a long time, people know that he has these gift card codes and there are many ways people could of gotten his IP address - or a random hacker could of just came a crossed it randomly as he was looking around franks machine and decided to take them.

Because of the security breach : He should probably have a disclaimer on his thread to use them within a short period of time which I will suggest to him at his thread.

In my humble opinion I do not think frank deserves a scammer tag because I am sure those egift cards were working when he sold them to you.

well thats my two cents and I mean it man, really sorry you lost out on this one - it sucks big time. If theres anything I can do to help please let me know.

Tom

229  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Algorithmically placed FPGA miner: 255MH/s/chip, supports all known boards on: October 08, 2012, 04:44:14 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=94317.0 <--- that CM1 bounty has already been paid from what I read in the thread

However I am still offering a bounty of 500 BTC

Problem is the clock is ticking on FPGA and if this bounty is not collected soon I am going to withdraw the offer.

230  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 08, 2012, 04:36:18 PM

I checked them out, don't really understand why they are so expensive though. I mean this is more than 10x the average price of seemingly similar hosting so what makes this so special?
231  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 08, 2012, 02:45:14 PM

Yeah someone pointed that out to me, also that they are big promoters of pornography

looks like I will be shopping around awhile

anyone have any suggestions?
232  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 08, 2012, 02:17:49 PM
what bad things?

I have used them for various things over the years and I have never had a problem with downtime. Godaddy used to be a pain with certain things because of their proprietary system makes certain types of web site setups difficult to setup - however they have improved it significantly over the years. Personally I have never had even one of my godaddy sites experience any kind of down time and I have several.

Yeah I know it's pretty pathetic when you pay a year up front in hosting costs (which I did yesterday) and then the system automatically suspends my account *again* luckily it looks like they caught it and fixed the problem after only a couple of hours.

Its complete bullshit - and I am really not happy about it - not going to wait for the new web site to be completed - I am moving to a new web host today, GoDaddy since they have a 99.9% uptime guarantee and I know if I pay for a year up front in hosting I wont have to worry about this crap.

btw good morning Grin and happy Columbus day for Americans and happy Thanks Giving for Canadians! Smiley

thank you for your support. however: Our production board is so different from our prototype ASIC board that it would be completely pointless to show pictures of it and would cause more confusion than it would anything else at this point - please keep in mind none of our competitors have released pictures of prototypes or production ASIC mining units but we suspect we will be the first to do so.

this new spec release will be on time with the launch of our new website - which I am told by the web devs should happen this week.

Stay tuned and keep checking back to our web site

we are very close to releasing detailed specs on the device including pictures of the production device.
and other specs like size of the board, chip specs, and more!

...
However now that Kano has a MMQ I expect CGminer to be just as compatible soon.
...

Thank you!

Tom
BTCFPGA.com/BitcoinASIC.com

I'll have it today or tomorrow (Monday almost 1pm here) - the tracking site says it is somewhere in Sydney Smiley
Did an intercept on the courier and got it from him before he took it up to the post office

Couriers are excellent here - they put a card in your letterbox and leave it at the post office - though the intercept was necessary to get him to actually give it to me rather than take it to the post office - seems they don't check if anyone is home - just fortunately happened to see the van and went out to check if it was the courier

Sweet

Let me know what your able to do with it. Smiley

239  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is BTCFPGA.com (bitcoinasic.com) - after payment no answers [resolved] ? on: October 08, 2012, 01:25:46 AM
my bank website went down for some hours the other day - they have more money than all of Bitcoin combined - shit happens on the internet
have a little patience before screaming please.

Thank you Smiley

and btw guys
The website (and all my other websites for that matter) were down for maybe 6 hours tops. I explained it in my thread so I am not going to explain it here - long story short there was a billing snafu and the system auto-suspended the account - so I just pre-paid it today for a year in advance so I dont have to worry about that happening again.
240  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 500 BTC BOUNTY FOR OPENSOURCE BITSTREAM THAT IS FASTER THAN TML *STILL OPEN* on: October 08, 2012, 01:22:14 AM
this has nothing to do with ASIC and yes one of the requirements of the bounty is that the bitstream must be open source.

My sole purpose for this bounty was to give my FPGA customers a boost and help them out in profitability for the last couple months before ASICs ship.

However if this bounty is not collected soon I will probably close it because it will just be too close to ASIC deployment and there will be no point
