I think experience is a big part of it, once you have been involved in a few good ones (and a few bad ones) you will know what to look for. When I join a bounty I look for -

- The project itself - Is it a good idea? Does it have value? working platform and a strong team? Remember that if the project is poor it probably won't pay out as they won't hit their targets

- The white paper - Does it make sense? Is it viable?

- The community - Is it vibrant? If there are a lot of people involved, it shows that the bounty manager is intentive and is looking to grow the project.

- Token bounty allocation - If it is too high, that's a red flag. Any project that cares about their token will not want to give away 10% of them that easily.

Best thing is to try and test it. Once you get more connections, you will know and hear good bounties.

I work in marketing ICOs and the best thing is an all encompassing marketing strategy that has many strands. The most important thing is to plan months in advanced so you can build a community. I find too many ICOs jump in and start panicking.

- Strong social media presence that continues to build over time and does not slow. This is a very effective tool, both just posting and ads.

- Events - connecting with other tokens, news outlets, etc

- Creating constant content - Blogs, videos etc. This will feed the social media

- Bitcointalk thread - Largest forum for crypto, it's a must

- ICO rating websites / articles - They can bring a large amount of traffic to the website.

- Bounties / airdrops - Great way to build a community and get them to market for you through word of mouth!

- Affilate marketing from trusted crypto enthusiasts - Can make a big difference

- Connecting with platforms in the crypto scene - Bounty0x, Boutyhive, Crowdholding, airdropalert can bring attention to people who have not heard about the ICO

Start with these, and continue to mould and change depending on what is effective.

There can be many reasons why an ICO postpones.

Yes it could be because there is a decline in the amount of investment, but also there are many other factors to consider that we do not know about as we do not work in the startup

- Meeting regulations, KYCS
- Sickness of key staff
- Behind on schedule in regards to the system or marketing
- Changes / pivots in the startup
- Christmas / holiday season is always a tough time as staff are off, investors will be focused on family time and connections / partners will also be away.

The only thing that will determine a negative market is the drop in the price of the token. I wouldn't read too much into some ICOs postponing.

I think it really depends on a lot of factors on whether you take part in bounties or simply trade. These are in order as well:-

1. Your knowledge - I would never suggest to anyone that they put their hard earned money into investing into something that they do not understand. Even if that is ICOs, altcoins or bitcoin. You can make quite a substantial amount of money if you know what you are doing and invest wisely, but if you are just investing because someone told you to, I would go back and research. This forum is great for that. If you want to take part in some bounties that is more a sensible option as you are not sacrificing your money. I see plenty of new people who invest and when it doesn't work out scream scam.

2. Your capital - Do not spend more than you can afford to lose, that is not just in crypto but any type of investment. If you don't have much to play with, aim for bounties where you can choose to hodl onto your tokens or sell them at your first chance to make a bit of cash. I have taken part in a quite a few bounties both unsuccessful and successful and you can make a pretty penny if you know what you are looking for in a bounty / project.

3. Your time - Bounties can be time consuming depending on what type of bounty you partake in, but so can be investing as you will be constantly checking the rice (believe me it happens). You have to weigh up if the bounties are worth your time.

All in all, knowledge is the most important, once you know why they are valuable, what should be in an ICO (team, tokenomics, working product) you can expand into investing. That's my advice.
