Money, and lots of it. Money, so that I could take care of my school debt and focus on what I actually want to do. Money, so that my mother could have the surgeries she needs. Money, so that I could support my brothers through college. Money, so that I wouldn't have to constantly worry about them and myself. Money, so that I could be free.
5  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Maximum role of Government? on: August 07, 2017, 01:21:29 PM
A government where the laws that are passed would apply to the people passing them. In other words, when a law gets passed, it applies to everyone in government as well as the peons.

7  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people believe in religion? on: August 07, 2017, 12:51:57 PM
I grew up fairly conservative christian. Now if I go to church its for the community, not because im scared of a fiery inferno. Im also curious about this Jesus guy. As far as most historians are concerned he was a real guy, which is pretty interesting. And I like following just the shit Jesus said. I think it would make the world a better place. But the pope is right better to be atheist than a fake ass catholic/christian. Just be nice to people and help out if you can. Seems like a nice concept to me.
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: August 07, 2017, 12:04:17 PM
It is a means to control poor populations(especially people of color), and force them into submission by a militarized police force.

10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What Is A Social Justice Warrior (SJW)? on: August 07, 2017, 11:30:19 AM
Self-righteous asshole who gets offended for others, lack reasoning and logical arguments, emotional, and tries to change the world by bitching and end up hurting the cause more than helping it.

Yes. I've been in love with the same woman for 39 years. If my wife finds out she'll kill me.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people feel so ofended by everything nowadays? on: August 07, 2017, 08:17:18 AM
It's simple, really: as serious offenses became practically nonexistent, the tolerance for more minor offenses decreased. So things that used to be brushed off or ignored completely started getting more focus because things that were actually serious simply didn't happen anymore.

Example: back in the day, a serious offense would be a public lynching for an interracial couple. As that became a thing of the past, the threshold for serious offense was reduced to racial slurs. As that became a thing of the past, the threshold was reduced again to simple racial descriptors. And once that becomes a thing of the past, the threshold will be reduced even further.

Good news is I think we're at the peak of just how intolerant of offense you can get before people simply stop taking you seriously.
13  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you agree in death penalty? on: August 07, 2017, 08:07:51 AM
Absolutely not. It's been shown numerous times that the justice system is too unreliable for such an absolute punishment. I also don't believe in a punitive justice system (ALL data shows that punishment doesn't = deterrent).

I believe in rehabilitation and fixing the underlying problems that cause criminality (shitty minimum wage, treating addicts as criminals etc) with a view of less people being affected by crime, NOT feeling better by punishing people who have transgressed against society (as tempting as that revenge is - it doesn't stop crime).
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / VERIFICATION PROCESS FOR BITCOIN ATMS, WTF? on: August 03, 2017, 03:18:48 AM
I was pondering using a bitcoin atm to get some coins, but every atm near me has some kind of identity verification process.   At the very least, you have to enter your phone number, get texted a code, then enter the code… then you can use the atm to buy bitcoins with cash (online sms burner numbers don’t work).
The ATM (and it’s owner) now has your phone number along with the other transaction details.
Assuming the btc you just got is now associated with your phn num, my question is, how can that association be found out?  Is it stored in the blockchain? Is it somehow public?  Or is it in the atm’s private company records?  Will your phn number still be tied to those bitcoins after they leave your possession?  okokokok… i guess what im asking is this:   If you get the coins with SMS verification, do you still have to tumble them to be anonymous?
Thanks for making this website.  I’m reading and learning as much as I can,  but some stuff I just don’t understand

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BITCOIN SECURITY AND AI COMPUTING on: August 02, 2017, 07:01:46 PM
Hello!
What is your opinion about the future security of the blockchain and the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence and Super computers?
Would that type of computers be able to make changes to the log of the blockchain without regular computers participating noticing it and, for example create fake Bitcoins?
