Hmm, behind someone else's firewall... opened port 7688 here, but that would just allow incoming/outgoing until it get's to the outside firewall, so still only 8 connections.  Any way to up the default connections?
I have control over my firewall, so I didn't try it, but you could try giving him more than 8 explicit -addnode=x.y.z.a , perhaps that'd convince him?

Wasn't it supposed to be 1block/minute? We are at block 176xx (appearing faster than I can post), so shouldn't the algorithm slowly start to adapt difficulty more harshly?

DMZ is a security risk AFAIK?

You do have a firewall, don't you?

I increased the # of connections for MySQL, let me know if you keep having this issue.

Hi flound1129,

just tried again and after less than 30 shares had it again:

Hm, am I blind? Cannot find the port for Freicoin anywhere.
For that matter, cannot find any ports to use on multicoin.in itself... Might be helpful posting that data on the site... :-)

Edit: Ok, found it... in plain view in the stats but still invisible to me as I was not looking for stats :-)

Edit 2: Keep getting 5-10% rejects with dubious message:

The idea would be that when scrypt was active, the sha256 miner would go idle and vice versa.
Hi flound1129,
don't think that would work since you'd normally use a setup with high memspeed/low gpuspeed for scrypt and high gpuspeed/low memspeed for sha-256 mining.
But in your setup both miners would already be running so it would be hard to apply the appropriate settings.
And then, there are FPGA/ASIC miners that wouldn't be happy about getting scrypt either :-)
I think one for sha-256 and one for scrypt would be better.
Or if you insist: One for sha-256, one for scrypt, one for sha-256/scrypt :-)

Kind regards
Mike
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][CNC][1% Fee] CNC Simple Pool [LP/Stratum] on: May 06, 2013, 08:36:55 PM
Site up but now stratum+tcp://lb.izserv.com:2595 is down...?

this is the order im running things just so we can all be on the same pools when they go down.

"url" : "stratum+tcp://minecnc.dontmine.me:33334",
"url" : "http://minecnc.dontmine.me:38339",
[...]
How do i write that into my bat file?

Couldn't see from your previous N posts what miner you are using. If it's cgminer or bfgminer, then make that

-o stratum+tcp://minecnc.dontmine.me:33334 -u <your worker> -p <worker-pass> -o http://minecnc.dontmine.me:38339 -u <your worker> -p <worker-pass> ...

Kind regards
Mike

Aright guys set up your pools in this order so we all have the same hash incase of servers going down. This is my order:

Thanks pizza, works like a charm.
I added my local chinacoin wallet as solo mining fall back should all else fail.
But what really drove me nuts was this: I was solo-mining for a whole day without any success, and what happens 10 seconds after I connect to the pool? I GOT A BLOCK - and I don't even have anything from it as I didn't have any of those N shares yet *grrrrr* :-)

Kind regards

149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: feathercoin pool(100M+) on: April 30, 2013, 05:18:09 PM
The one thing I don't get is how anyone was able to "unlock" the wallets when a locked wallet is set in stone.  I realize the site was probably hacked, but it scares me that he can unlock my wallet at anytime.
I'd guess it was the admin himself in trying to fix things... removed all locks, removed the Default payout addresses and changed the algorithm so no new ones would be accepted until he fixed whatever it was.
Would really be helpful if he'd clarify things here if he wants to get his 2% that we pay for this "free" pool :-)
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: feathercoin pool(100M+) on: April 30, 2013, 04:53:14 PM

Well It accepted my address, but theres no manual payout, and so far no auto payout.. It's probably just a glitch, but my rigs are elsewhere until theres coins in my wallet.. As Fiddy points out "It ain't easy to make money, so now everybody want to take money...
Yep, addresses get accepted now again.
But until I see an automatic payout I switched to p2pool.org for FeatherCoin mining, and I might set up my own p2pool node later on.

I think you need to think bigger... my GPU already has 3GB, whereas my PC has 24GB.

I don't think it's that newbie-freindly in terms of "I don't know anything yet".
If you already know something, it may be helpful for finding some stuff that one didn't know before.

Lol - I'd love to see how this turns out :-)

Which exchange supports FC?
Cryptonit.net is working on it
156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Female bitcointers out there? on: April 29, 2013, 08:23:21 AM
I prefer others not to know what bitcoins are (not restricted to females) - then they won't ask you for yours :-)
157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What the hell I should post being that I am a newbie anyway? on: April 29, 2013, 08:16:21 AM
Indeed
