Sorry, ebay, newegg, amazong and craiglist are not an option for me as i live in Europe, plus the duty i will pay if i ever order anything outside my country will be much higher than what i will make.
I actually am considering the 5870, as the 6950 seems to have some bugs with drivers which causes freezing. I wouldnt want to take the risk, so it may be a tad bit expensive, but i think i am going to buy the 5870

Does this happen to the 1GB model as well?

There is only one store i am going to buy through and it doesnt have any more 5850's sadly.
Also, the 6950 is cheaper for me than it's 5870 counterpart, and according to the wiki it does 314 mhash/s at stock although it uses 200w.

The limit is pretty much the money and my PSU.
I have a Chieftec 600 watt PSU, of course it will never actually supply that much, it has 4 rails, and all of them supply 58 amps and it says on the sticker 576 watts max.
My rig is Phenom 955BE - 125 watt TDP, but slightly downclocked and undervolted so it doesn't use up too much juice. 5850 which usually has a max TDP of 151 watts, it's memory is downclocked to 500 and overclocked to 765Mhz outputting 290mhash/s with some tweaks on Phoenix's side.
If we add them together 125+180(if we assume that much is used up by the overclock of the card) and say 20w for other peripherals = 325 watts so that leaves me with room for 230w max for a card.
Now it's you!

Have you taken into account the diff withing the next weeks as well? one month is enough the diff to increase by 90% more.

|
|
It depends on your card. And how many shares you do per hour.

Click on any worker name and you will get it.

Hmm, Try a miner with native x64 support.
|
|
|
Well one, guiminer has no problems running multiple cards with multi gpus afaik. And i also suggested a few things, but seems they were ignored(even if they might not be the cause/solution)
|
|

Crossfire afaik should in some cases lower mining performance. and you can only CF between series of the same class i.e 6k with 6k and 5k with 5k(and if they are of the same family)

People have reported that Windows 7 supports 4 GPUs, other claim to run even more(multi-core at that).
Have you tried Phoenix(with phatk)?
I have not tried Pheonix, I have no idea how that works. I don't know Linux or any coding languages. Phoenix is a windows miner albeit 32bit i think...if your OS can also run x86 apps, try it. EDIT: I really suggest running the program in console mode.
|
|
|
I also suggest trying the console version of poclbm(guiminer when with gui), it might give you a hint(and us)

4xxx series video cards do not support openCL so you CANNOT mine with them. You will need to purchase a 5xxx or 6xxx series video card in order to mine.

But then Bitcoins will be worth what...$100US?
They could be worth less afaik.

Then make the fields bigger lol. I am not some ant to try and read that. Also, why write 5Xxx+?? Just write BFI_INT so there are no misunderstandings then. And also, if it stays on top of every program(the osd) then how the hell can i watch a movie without that thing??
Is that your complaint about GUIMiner as well? They're the same size. 5xxx+ because not everyone understand what BFI_INT means. And I did say that they're the same thing on the first post. Do you just hit "Download" and double click when finished?Drag it off screen then. Most of the time. Guiminer unlike this one has very readable text, and phoenixminer is coming for the phoenix which should allow even smoother mining. My advice is to add the speed on the gui itself.

what will be your hash rate? what gpu are you buying?
since its impossible to get 6990s here in germany (all out of stock), i calculated with 3 5850s, which have 330.000 kHash/s, according to https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison. combined hashrate would be 1.000.000 kHash/s. (as you can also see in the top-left of the excel sheet) PS: using 2x6990 instead of 3x5850 wouldn't change the outcome too much. A 5850 does 270, your calculations are wrong!

So what are the good and bad parts about this program?
+GUI
-An OSD that stays in the top right corner of my screen without the ability to move it. -The OSD stays on top of EVERY program. -The OSD has barely visible words(impossible to read the text at all) -Small fields when entering arguments -Checkbox for phatk, but not for vectors and BFI_INT
Basically, although i appreciate the try, you should've tried harder.

I don't know, i never had any problems regarding permissions. Even the first ever time i ran pushpool. Some people said it's not safe for pushpool to use the /tmp folder, but why?
