1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to roll-back Ordinals? on: November 12, 2023, 10:11:24 PM
The Genie is out of the bottle, but for many of us it won't matter that much, we will see a drop in them after people realize that the number of funds used to create them don't pay back...

So best course of action, ignore and wait until the fad dies on its own...

Discover the Potential of Discounted Debt Investments with Indemo

Hey BitcoinTalk community,

Are you looking to diversify your investment portfolio beyond cryptocurrencies? Let's talk about an exciting platform we are working on – Indemo.

Why Discounted Debt?
Indemo offers an innovative investment opportunity in discounted debt, particularly in the buoyant Spanish real estate market. This isn't your run-of-the-mill investment; it's a chance to invest in loans secured by tangible assets, acquired below their market value – offering a safety cushion and the potential for attractive returns.

Spanish Real Estate: A Land of Opportunity
The Spanish real estate sector has shown resilient growth and recovery, especially post-2008. Indemo taps into this market, providing access to discounted debts with robust loan-to-value (LTV) ratios. It's a way to leverage the stability of real estate in one of Europe's largest economies.

Discounted Debt vs. Bitcoin
We all know and love the volatility and potential of Bitcoin, but in the investment world, balance is key. While Bitcoin has the potential for high returns, discounted debt investments offer a more steady and calculated growth, backed by the real estate collateral. It's about having the best of both worlds.

How Does Discounted Debt Work?
Think of discounted debt like a clearance sale where you can buy a valuable item at a lower price because the seller needs to liquidate fast. Indemo lets you invest in such debts, which are backed by real estate, meaning if things go south, you have a physical asset to fall back on.

Licensing and Security
Indemo operates under a brokerage license within the EU, ensuring stringent monitoring of compliance and operational activities. This means your investments are protected by a solid legal framework.

EU Investors, Listen Up!
Currently, Indemo's platform is available exclusively to EU users. So if you're in the EU and looking to diversify your portfolio, Indemo could be a great fit.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why We Are Still So Damn Early With Bitcoin .. on: August 31, 2023, 01:13:42 PM
What I find really funny about these topics is that they pop like mushrooms when there is a dump, It's like everyone needs reassurance and start preaching to the choir as it would somehow magically words from people with the same mindset reported ad nauseam will somehow turn out to be true.

I guess it is similar to the threads that appear in bull market that give a higher and higher prediction. I remember at the end of 2021 it was not uncommon to see $300,000 predictions for this cycle on the forum. And outside the forum as well.

Every Bitcoiner knows about the famous 10,000 Bitcoin for two pizzas (~$40) - the exchange in 2010 where Bitcoin was first used as money.

Even though 10,000 Bitcoin now means complete financial freedom, many people see this as a reason to believe that the Bitcoin train to financial freedom has sailed.

I understand the message you want to convey, but I believe that real price increases in the future will be slower. Assuming $20 for a pizza today is 0.00077 bitcoin. By 2036 I doubt that 0.00077 will be as valuable as 10,000 bitcoin is today.

With the generality of the message I agree. Bitcoin is a scarce commodity that will continue to appreciate and amounts that seem modest today may become life changing, but I would add that for this it is better to keep accumulating, not waiting for 0,00077 bitcoin to change your life.

The longer down the road we go the less multiples it might grow, growing from 100 users to a 1000 users was easy.
Going from a million to 100 millions will be a long journey, and the more you invest and have the less multiples it needs to increase in value for you to sustain a comfortable living.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will the bitcoiners realize bitcoin is just fiat with enforced tax on: August 31, 2023, 01:10:43 PM
I'd say never, because Bitcoin is not fiat with enforced tax. You pay tax on your profits, tell me when is your fiat generating profit for you?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When to invest in bitcoin on: August 31, 2023, 01:08:49 PM
The best is yesterday, the second best is today.

Depends if you are there for a long term or seeking daily trading and short term gains.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hong Kong officially launches its first Bitcoin and crypto trading platform on: August 31, 2023, 01:07:59 PM
Yeah when I heard about this a year back I assumed it would be very bullish because it would bring tons of money into the crypto market. However whenever we got news that it was finally a reality and trading would be allowed, nothing happened. And the price is still not exploding due to this news.

I think the people who wanted to own bitcoin already did in alternate ways and those that want to buy bitcoin won’t do it now but only when bitcoin breaks ATH. Many believe Bitcoin is dead right now because it’s trading sideways for many months.

Yes, but all things considered this is a positive thing when the market sentiment will turn bullish. The more possibilities users have to purchase crypto the better.
We want to promote decentralisation of onramping as much as possible to limit of possibilities of one exchange taking the whole market with it.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your reasons for adopting cryptocurrency? on: August 31, 2023, 01:05:13 PM
It started out as a random thing, but over the time it gives the flexibility of being non dependant on traditional institutions.

Can I live without money in my bank account? Probably not, but in any case this is a portion of funds allocated for situations when i need to be in control.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long can Bitcoin out perform inflation in the long run? on: August 31, 2023, 01:03:46 PM
I've been closely monitoring the upcoming Bitcoin halvening, and it's fascinating to see the economic principles at play. For those who might not be aware, the halvening is an event where the reward for mining new blocks is halved, effectively reducing the supply of new Bitcoins entering the market by 50%. This is a built-in mechanism to ensure that Bitcoin remains deflationary over time.

What's even more intriguing is the current demand from retail investors. Recent data suggests that retail investors are purchasing more Bitcoin than what's being produced daily. This supply-demand imbalance is a classic economic scenario. With the halvening further reducing the daily supply, and assuming the demand remains constant or even increases, we could potentially witness some interesting price dynamics in the near future.

And with new people getting mature and ready for digital economy (eg. people grown buying things online, skins and other intangible things) it will be easier for them to transition into this digital age.

I'm not into mining but this one got my interest, tell me is this coin possible to mine using VPS looks interesting and profitable can you confirm that everything is set tomorrow for the launching of the wallet.

Nope when u start mining any VPS provider will close your account. They dont normally countenance this shit. Wanna mine then purchase a rig. I dont know why u would wanna mine this one tho. This is a no-coin and I dont see it listed, not even on shit exchanges. However there is an inherent risk to CPU mining which u do not wanna take unless u wanna kill your CPU in the first place.
This all depends on the Virtualisation that is provided. If you are guaranteed to have full virtualisation and 100% of the resources you can do what you want with the machine.
You can mine with hive mining no problems, as that doesnt load the CPU as PoW mining does.

We can't even see a corresponding GitHub repo for now...

Hive mining: Create on-chain agents (dwarves) who mine for you during their lifespan (see the Hive mining guide or whitepaper)

Hive mining? Never. I lost about 140 LCC on your Hive mining, there is a post in your LCC thread. Never will do the same mistake again.
Hive mining is not a guaranteed investment though, especially if you are solo-hive mining and doing it with smaller quantities.

After creation, bees take 1,152 blocks to mature (approximately 24 hours of chain time). During this time, your wallet does not need to be online; the bees will mature regardless.

After the maturation period, bees live for 16,128 blocks (approximately 2 weeks). During this time, your wallet should remain online as much as possible; your bees can only work for you while your wallet is connected to the network.

Prevent 51%?
Yes, this is done to prevent 51%
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: February 11, 2020, 07:03:58 PM
Today, many analysts and economists have warned of an impending economic crisis, and although it will not be so global, this situation will affect many countries, because today there is already a decrease in the resource and raw materials market, because even heavy industry will suffer certain losses.  In addition, given the fact that in connection with the epidemic in China, very large companies, such as Tesla or google, and many others are curtailing their production.  This will also lead to a certain decline not only in China, but also in other countries.  The only good news is that many businessmen, in order to avoid certain problems, are looking for alternative sources of investment, among which the demand for the cryptocurrency market has increased.
The goverment will just start the money printing press again. Dont worry!
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would a Crypto Based Economy Make Things Safer? on: February 11, 2020, 06:49:28 PM
Honestly, using crypto doesn't mean a safer community. We have lots of news lately that bad people use Bitcoin as a mode of payment for illegal trade such as drugs, etc because it cannot be tracked down by the government. This is what I am afraid of legalizing the use of Bitcoin as decentralized money. It seems that it will be used rampantly by people who are doing illegal things.
The same things happen with cash, just because some people use cash for bad things doesn't mean the cash is bad.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] First Swiss Bank Cryptocurrency ICO [AIRDROP] is now LIVE! on: March 05, 2019, 03:50:17 PM
An open letter from Dr Andre Duka, CEO-CTO of Dukascopy Bank SA
This letter is addressed to members of the crypto community, colleague-bankers, journalists, clients of the bank and everyone interested in Fintech.
Today, Dukascopy Bank is officially launching its crypto token – Dukascoin (DUK+) – the first payment coin issued for public use by a licensed and regulated bank, a Swiss bank at the least. I take this big event as a historic milestone for both the blockchain industry and the traditional banking sector. Recently, we have observed many announcements from banks about their in-house crypto projects, yet, to the best of my knowledge, no working solutions have been deployed to the market. In our case, we confirm the real start of a bank’s cryptocurrency after a year of intense legal, technological and emotional effort that has required the consolidation of all our skills and knowledge.
So, how does the first banking ICO look like?
Our project significantly differs from any other ICO offered to the audience so far. The Dukascoin’s uniqueness is not about the blockchain design complexity – in contrast, we have intentionally meant it to remain unsophisticated, for which we have picked a popular ERC-20 standard on the Ethereum blockchain and the Airdrop concept of token distribution. Issuance of new tokens will be free of charge and limited to new current accounts opening at Dukascopy Bank, whereby each new client will get 5 Dukascoins for free and an equal amount will be granted to a referrer if any exists. The bank itself will receive 10 new coins from undistributed tokens every time a new account is created. These coins will be used to pay rewards, support liquidity and for other similar purposes. Our project is unique because of the Dukascoin will simultaneously reside in two environments – in the blockchain and in the books of a regulated bank. It means that when clients keep the coins inside Dukascopy, they can enjoy multiple benefits, for example, the Swiss deposit insurance scheme covering CHF 100,000, protection against bankruptcy of the bank, client may execute free and instants transfers of coins inside Dukascopy by simply knowing the receiver’s phone number, at the same time all
counterparties associated with the transfers are duly identified (not anonymous) as they become clients of a Swiss bank. All clients have an opportunity to use standard banking services like payment cards, investments, cheap currency exchange etc. And finally, bank’s clients are always free to move their coins outside of the bank, exiting the secure area of the regulated bank in favor of risks and freedom of the blockchain.
To sell and buy Dukascoins, the bank has created a secure internal marketplace that is designed as an easy-to-understand bulletin board that is linked to clients’ accounts at the bank. It allows posting conditional orders
(providing liquidity) or picking the desired orders from other participants (using liquidity). All transactions executed on the internal marketplace are secured by the bank, so the client should not worry about receiving expected value when Swiss Banking Group the transaction is accepted by a third-party. Another essential benefit of Dukascopy marketplace is a possibility to get a recognized bank statement that would be acceptable for other financial institutions and official authorities. At the same time, I invite any reputable third-party crypto-exchange that would want to list the Dukascoin, to get in contact with the bank and we together will design a cooperation model. To support Dukascoin liquidity, the bank has developed a special program to remunerate large providers of liquidity. Also, the bank will offer a system of significant rewards motivating Dukascoins savings. Rewards will be based on both crypto and fiat currencies. Additionally, there is a special offering for Dukascopy brokerage and trading clients who will benefit from using Dukascoins to fund trading accounts. As a CEO of the bank, I’m excited about the project and invite everybody to take a look at the unique opportunities which will be offered at the initial stage of the project. I guarantee there are many interesting options worth exploring. Those who are interested to follow the Dukascoin project, I welcome to check the web site that was specifically created for the ICO project. There you can find all the latest news, features, dates as well as the project’s white paper.
