61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / FREE coins! Get on the ground floor! on: September 11, 2014, 10:55:14 PM
investors left with worthless coins

We like to call them Early Adopters.
WWC is not a company stock, a precious metal like gold or silver, It is a currency, you buy it to exchange it for goods and services, or other currencies.
The only way to get rich with WWC is to own more of it. Right now, it is being given away for free, so scoop-up as much of it as you can, before it gets listed on the exchanges and starts to build-up value.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Beta Testing Send/Receive on: September 03, 2014, 02:02:04 PM
Beta Testers,
Please post here your WWC address and I will send you a small amount to test send/receive functions.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WorldWideCoin (WWC) Beta testing started. FREE coins! Get on the ground floor! on: September 03, 2014, 02:16:33 AM

64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WorldWideCoin (WWC) Beta testing started. FREE coins! Get on the ground floor! on: September 03, 2014, 02:15:29 AM
how do you receive coins to beta test? just dload the wallet?

Yes, for now. Notice with the block rewards structure in place , the rewards increase gradually before falling back to the normal 25/block.
Additional rewards will be announced later.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WorldWideCoin (WWC) Beta testing started. FREE coins! Get on the ground floor! on: September 01, 2014, 10:08:14 PM

It's a currency! Not a security!

Beta Testing now in progress.

Beta testers will receive free several thousand coins each as a reward for beta testing, compared to only 1000 free coins per wallet at launch.

The Early Bird Gets the Worm!!!
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can a new coin break-in and be a big success? on: May 15, 2014, 06:24:00 AM
Bitcoin is the new king of currencies, believe it or not. It will keep doing what it's been doing for many years to come, with major rallies and major bear markets until it's price is far higher than most would dare now believe. Or of course it too goes back to being worth next to nothing should something else fully displace it, or Cryptocurrencies in general all fail due to various technicalities not yet on scene.

"should something else fully displace it"
That's exactly the subject of this topic!
I am surprised a firm/strong believer in BTC such as yourself even mentions the possibility "something else" could displace it. And so my question is still the same" What other coin can come along and be a "Better coin than Bitcoin"??

Those who love BTC so much defend it against any criticism with the zeal and fanaticism of a religious cult defending its almighty GOD.

As for "or Cryptocurrencies in general all fail due to various technicalities not yet on scene."
two things come to mind:
1. BTC Transaction Malleability bug discovered and exploited not too long ago. when BTC core developers RUSHED-IN - in a mad dash - to fix it. Who to say another bug does not surface or a malicious attack - somehow - cripples the network?
2. Government interference: if I am not mistaken, Russia has banned a lot of BTC activity and set exorbitant import tariffs on mining hardware. China Central bank has banned Yuan deposits and withdrawals against BTC (I could be wrong about that, but that's what I had heard).
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / It's too late now! :-) on: May 15, 2014, 05:44:19 AM
Forgetabout making your own coin for at least now. Instead learn all about the topic. After all, only fools rush in right?

Nice all-encompassing post/advice Slingshot.
I can tell you have a lot of experience in the field.
Well... I particularly like your advice about buying and holding BTC.
When I started mining BTC about a year ago, I started with a laptop's integrated video chip, and I was making a whopping 0.01 BTC every 2 weeks or so. Since then, I graduated to multiple 100 GH/s and 200 GH/s ASICs.
Finally, I decided mining BTC is a rat's race against ever-increasing network difficulty. I have come to the conclusion it makes more sense to just buy the coins rather than invest in mining hardware.

I started this topic on April 21st, and back then I knew almost nothing about altcoins.
Today, I am getting ready to launch my very own coin. Sorry, won't follow you advice! The wheel is already set in motion and I have some great people helping me with the technical (development) and marketing bits. I knew all along I simply can NOT do everything all by myself.
And so I will jump into the waters, sink or swim.

If you want to take a look at / evaluate my coin, I'll send you a few thousands for free pre-launch!!   Wink Grin Cheesy Grin
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can a new coin break-in and be a big success? on: May 15, 2014, 01:38:28 AM
What if you made a coin that has no limit that it's simply infinity amount ?
what if the difficulty was longer due to it being infinity and makes something of value at the same time ?
What if there was a new format of a wallet that means anybody in the world can use it regardless of internet or APP?
What if a platform that is already existing that complies with day to day use for people to receive and send payment for goods?
What if a coin had a certain stability in price that +/- 10% jumps on value that was not controled so much by traders due to it being designed to be used as a day to day payment currency?
I am very interested in the answers to my qeustion

You are reading my mind.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / I am the Faircoin StoryTeller on: May 13, 2014, 04:09:19 AM
What is FairCoin?

Huh? Are you new here?
Have a seat... relax and make yourself comfortable. I will tell you the whole story from the very beginning.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FairCoin (FAC) - NEW DEVELOPMENT TEAM - Innovation - Promoting Equality - on: May 11, 2014, 12:55:41 AM
i promise i'll make physical form of this Fair-Gold-coin with engraved FAC address at coin side
tell me what you think, should it be 1oz 99,9% pureness ?

1oz 99,9% pure Gold? WOW, that would look nice! That's one side of the coin though, what'll be on the other side?

You can probably make one now inexpensively (plastic) with a 3-D printer.
You don't even have to buy a 3-D printer, some copy shops have printers and will do the job for you.

WOW!!! I am humbled!
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Now we're talking!!! on: May 10, 2014, 07:39:42 PM
I really want to help to make this coin a success, but unfortunaly i am not a developer, computer specialist, cummunity story teller(verry good one might i add Cheesy. You stories are the max).

I would like to give my support by donating 10,000FAC. This can be used towards bounties or however the cummunty likes.

Thanks for compliment. I am happy some people read - and even enjoy - my fictional stories!

Putting your money where your mouth is... Now I applaud you! Way to go!
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Logo on: May 10, 2014, 05:41:25 PM
I think it would be good to keep the handshaking symbol from the original logo and implement that in the second one's design. That would be perfect! Just my opinion though...  Cheesy

Also remove "Pure PoS", no-one out of Crypto knows what that means.

BTW, since titles are up for grabs, I have appointed myself "Community Entertainer".
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / The Faircoin Conspiracies (part 4): P U T S C H !!! on: May 10, 2014, 02:37:17 AM
April 15th, 2014:
Original DEV takes a little more than 3 Million Faircoins out of cold storage and deposits them into 2 wallets:
2060856 coins  to fbFKXBYiEbkiPb2a2vzseCaniHrCH5X8Ls
1001413 coins to fdJYKA5U13vBAZ2VWZwPU1h71cQtbnrkXt
He is getting ready to make another dump, but needs a big pump first, to maximize his revenue.

So, on April 20th, 2014, he annouces:
"Today officially started collaborating with an outside investor for a new project."
And waits for the price to skyrocket again.

This time, however, his announcement is met with skepticism and the price of Faircoin remains the same or declines.

As we know now, the "Outside Investor" put out a contract on the DEV and sent out Leetrump-The-Hitman to make it "look like a car accident".

Fast forward to April 23rd, 2014:
As the original Faircoin DEV laid on his back in a Parisian ambulance headed towards the nearest hospital, everyone - including the French police and the Ambulance technician - thought he was dead. Miraculously, he regained conscience, and lifted his head up. The nurse sitting next to him gasped in shock and screamed. He was still alive after all, his heart beating ever so faintly.
He managed to take out his cell phone and dialed the number for his BFF Vandalay23.
DEV: Vandalay, listen to me carefully. I have just survived an attempt on my life and I will be out of commission for a while. I want you to announce to the FAC community that I have abandoned ship. I want you to take over and save the 3 Million coins I have in my 2 wallets. I will sell them later when the price goes back up to 6000 sat again.

Alas, word spreads out and the community mourns the death of DEV.

Seizing the opportunity he has been waiting for since the launch of Faircoin, Doctor A. Kandar plots a bloody coup d'etat.
He calls for a take-over of the coin and communicates with like-minded conspirators:
DeeHarrietta Potter: Has irresistible convincing powers. Likes to hold a wand in her left hand and wave it to make a point.
3DCoiner: While Doctor A. Kandar is the brain, 3DCoiner is the brawn. He wears a black cape imprinted with colored 3-D coins, and immediately appoints himself Community Manager.

In a dark room in the back alleys of IRC, with the curtains drawn shut, the three conspiratots meet and plot:
Doctor A. Kandar: We are now in control, and the putsch is irreversible:  I created a FairCoinTeam Organisation and forked the sources. In time, I can stage another 51% attack, better and bigger than the first one, staged by the original DEV. We stand to make millions of coins for ourselves after we roll-back the blockchain a second time.
DeeHarrietta Potter: Bansheroom is trying to stand in our way. He posted "This is really annoying. Just because they are one week late now, there is no reason to "steal" this coin".
3DCoiner: Don't worry about him Dee... you can use your convincing powers to shut him up, or I will put out a contract on him and make it look like a car accident.

The Putsch is ON!!

The three conspirators burst into one loud evil laughter, shake hands and quietly leave the room.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Faircoin Conspiracies (Part 3) on: May 08, 2014, 03:04:31 PM
We invite you to take part in the revival of FAC. Feel free to propose ideas and, if possible, step up and help in one of the existing tasks on this list

Thank you very much Dee for the offer.
I - along with my Spiritual Leader Master Takoshi Nakatomi - fully support you and the new team. I wish you success.
I have been on this thread since day 2 of the launch of FAC (before even coin distribution started).
My talent is in writing fiction and conspiracy theories. If you have time, you can go back and read some of my previous posts.
I will continue to do so, to entertain the community, and satisfy my writing penchant.
Unfortunately, that's all I am good at!  Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin
And besides, I am actually working right now on developing my very own coin, that'll follow FAC distribution model, and maybe even compete against FAC, LTC and BTC!
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Gladimor... our Knight in shining armor - Faircoin Conspiracies (Part 3) on: May 08, 2014, 02:44:34 PM
I thought FAC was dead. It seems it back to life again today, let's see how it looks like tomorrow.
why the price is up??

Man... haven't you been following this thread last couple of days?
I'll sum things up for you in few sentences:
- Out of the darkness, appeared - in a glow of white light - our savior, named Adam Gladimor, and appointed himself "Community Manager" of Faircoin, because he was community manager of Cinni before. A claim denied by the Cinni people.
- Adam posted a roadmap for Faircoin that included an idea for a useless feature to incorporate messaging and file sharing between wallets. A feature that would require some major re-writing or big modifications to the wallet source code. Who is going to do that, or who has the time to do it? No-one has stepped-up yet to the plate.
- Adam also proposed some other ideas and called on volunteers to join the newly-formed Faircoin team.
- With only 3 - 4 posts about the new plans (NOTHING yet implemented), FAC price soared - within hours - from 500 to over 1700 sat
- Price back-tracked a little (to now below 930) with the inevitable profit-taking.
- Active enthusiastic members got super-excited - despite the false claims of Adam - and started organizing themselves as the "New" FAC team. An effort I - personally - support fully. This is perhaps the only good news in this pump drive.
- Gladimor has - so far - disappeared. After posting 3 - 4 times daily for the last 2 days, he hasn't commented - yet - on CINNI allegations that he's an imposter Community Leader.
- In fact, Gladimor is busy developing his shitty web site Shop Crypto, and his imaginary 3-D coin. Let's all wish him good luck.

78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / How DEV disapeared on: May 07, 2014, 02:04:39 AM
I think the Dev had a secret meeting with Jimmy Hoffa.
Sorry but do you tell me who is Jimmy Hoffa? Thus I can understand your humor. thank you.

To be more accurate, DEV met secretly with the same guy Hoffa met on July 30, 1975 at the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox Restaurant at 6676 Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township, Detroit.

The rise and fall of Fair Coin - an article by The Cryptocurrency Times

Good article!

If you do not have time to read all of it, here's all you need to know:

"On April 12 2014 an intense Fair Coin rally occurred, driving the price to nearly 7000 satoshis briefly, a 1400% increase from the original price! This was massively profitable for those who got the free coins and those who invested early. The 1000 free fair coins that you’d get by simply entering the distribution were worth $35 during this rally! So if you entered the distribution 100 times, which was totally possible, you could’ve made $3500!'

"Fair Coin was a highly successful coin in perspective, and probably extremely profitable for the developer and his friends. Many developers have since copied Fair Coin’s distribution system, but no similar Cryptocurrency has gained much popularity or value."

That last paragraph is quite meaningful to me personally, since I am getting ready to launch my own coin, that'll follow the FAC distribution model  Wink

No, it was just 200 FAC because you made me laugh  Cheesy

Yes, I'll add the 800 from my own wallet.
