81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / 1000 FAC Bounty on: May 03, 2014, 09:34:58 PM
hell, post your FairCoin address, I'll send you 200 FAC right now.  Just for fun Smiley

You mean 200 FACs to buy parts 1 and 2 of my book?

I'll add 800 FACs to your 200 and offer 1000 FACs bounty to the first member who reads my Complete idiot's Guide to creating your own Altcoin and posts a review explaining why Faircoin has been so successful, so that my coin will be too.

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / What has really happened to our beloved DEV on: May 03, 2014, 05:27:38 PM
I think it's safe to say that something is wrong. Man up DEV!!!

- DEV was approached by a foreign investor who wanted to accept FAC (and 3 other coins) as the only form of payment on his home delivery web site.
- "Foreign Investor" gave DEV a large cash advance
- DEV used a portion of the cash advancce to pay a professional video production company to produce a youtube promotional video for Faircoin. The "professional video production" company - later - turned-out to be a 12-year old kid with bad English.
- DEV used the rest of the cash advance to buy himself a black Mercedes, hired a driver (Paul) and traveled to Paris, France  to celebrate.
- The "Foreign Investor" turned-out to be a Marijuana dealer from Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
- Angry and disappointed, DEV contacted the "Foreign Investor" and informed him the deal is OFF.
- The "Foreign Investor" demanded a FULL refund of the cash advance.
- DEV - having already spent all the money - refused.
- "Foreign Investor" put out a contract to kill DEV. "Make it look like a car accident", were his instructions.
- After a night-out at a famous Paris hotel, DEV asked "Paul" to drive him back home.
- leetrump-The-Hitman followed DEV's black Mercedes in a  white VolksWagen.
- Paul the driver, was driving at a high speed, trying to shake-off his follower, entered a dark tunnel.
- leetrump-The-Hitman caught-up with the black Mercedes, intentionally bumped its back corner.
- Mercedes went out of control, started spinning, hit a large column in the dark tunnel.
- Paul the driver and DEV, both died instantly at the scene.
- French Police conducted a lengthy (3 hours) investigation, ruled it an "unfortunate accident".

Back in China.... the Investor 村长(Village head) with two Million FACs in his wallet, is getting ready to take over the helm of the troubled coin.

These guys should be able to help you.  They may not have all the features, but they are your best choice, esp since you are in Canada.

Coinbase (and many others I'm sure) provide payment buttons and APIs.
88  Bitcoin / Hardware / The Bitcoin roadmap is littered with companies' and ideas' corpses on: May 02, 2014, 12:40:11 AM
Sadly enough trustworthy hardware manufacturers are hard to find in the BTCitcoin comunity witch is why BTCitcoin keeps struggling to hit the mainstream. First there was Btcfpga (Tom, who took a project way above his head and out of his controll and became to have personal problems, ended his 'bASIC' project), Butterflylabs (who kept promising people and let them wait for almost a year, probably mining with there hardware and earning tons of BTCitcoins), Not to forget Avalon, now Bitmine (who has the same stinky smell like Butterflylabs). Who's next?

And that's talking only about mining hardware manufacturers.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / A very simple 3-step process on: April 29, 2014, 11:01:29 PM
And what about "We will purchase the item in fiat from local merchants"?
Someone will hop into his car, drive to the "local" merchant and buy the item? So is this limited to only Toronto?

The other good use of this service is for home-bound people: the elderly and the sick. But those people do not know what a cryptocurrency is!
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - MULTIPOOL PAYS --- 20%--- BONUS! for the next week!! on: April 29, 2014, 09:06:39 PM
Anybody know anything about this website? =http://shop-crypto.webs.com
 3-D Coins are coming soon!
Coin currently in priority design: FairCoin

This is it. This must be the big announcement. The creator of Shop Crypto is the foreign investor.
Have you noticed:
"We currently only accept DogeCoin, Faircoin, Globe, and ExeCoin"?
The site is still in Beta though, so I'd say... like everything Faircoin so far: wait and see!

What does a 3-D coin mean? Has 3 sides instead of only a head and a tail?  Grin Grin
91  Bitcoin / Hardware / ANT Blues on: April 29, 2014, 09:24:44 AM
This is a brand new S1, the German ebay seller bought the protactminer.
Of course, the RESET button has been tried.

I do not know where you are located, but Bitmain USA was good with service, repaired a unit I had and shipped back to me next day delivery. Bitmain China will have you try this, that, and the other thing before they finally agree to have you ship back to them the controller board only or the whole unit.

The trick with the reset button is to hold it down for a long time (10+ seconds) and to try it twice. If you have a spare PSU of 600 Watt 80PLUS spec, try that too, but do not buy one just to test, unless you want to (Corsair or Coolmax recommended).

Almost forgot, one more thing to try: power-up ONLY the controller board, not both blades at the same time and see if WAN lights come on.
92  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Other troubleshooting on: April 29, 2014, 08:56:50 AM
I think the controller board is defective.

Yeah, perhaps the ethernet interface on the controller board, not the whole controller board. Is this a new Ant or a used one?
Seen ethernet interface issues before on this thread.
One last thing I suggest you try:
The hard reset little button on the controller board: Press on it (with Ant powered-up), and hold it down for a good 10 seconds. release, wait 10 seconds, then do it again.

If that doesn't do it, I'd say contact Bitmain for repair/replacement.
93  Bitcoin / Hardware / Other troubleshooting on: April 29, 2014, 07:24:30 AM
Of course, I tried to connect directly to a PC (normal and cross-link cable), but the PC can not detect it. I think it may be some physical defect. The reset did not help.

You'd think the PSU cannot possibly have anything to do with ethernet connection... but, I've seen so many problems caused by an inadequate PSU. What kind/wattage PSU are you using?
94  Bitcoin / Hardware / No WAN connectivity on: April 29, 2014, 12:50:26 AM
LED next to the LAN connection is off and there is no connection.

Do you have a sticker on the controller board with an IP addres? If not, most units have a factory default IP address of 192.168.1.99, so make sure - when you connect your ant directly to a computer with an ethernet patch cable , that the computer has an IP address 192.168.1.xxx (where xxx is any number between 2 and 253. other than 99). Then open IE or any other browser and type http://192.168.1.99
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Over 687K Faircoins sold in 58 seconds on: April 28, 2014, 11:32:17 PM
So what's the point? If they where sold then someone got them. What if no one is ready to buy Smiley

You make a very good point! So someone(s) is dumping and someone(s) scooping them up.
Besides, 587K coins can be considered normal traffic, nothing to be alarmed about.
Yeah, the real trouble would be if no-one wanted to buy.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Interpreting the recent market history on: April 28, 2014, 03:59:42 PM
I was looking at the volume on the graph, 1st dump said 1 mill, the second said 2.5.
Anyway that is still a large dump, wonder why?

OK, so we're looking at same data two different ways.

3.5 Million FACs and it is still going on...

I immediately contacted (telepathically) my spiritual leader Master Takoshi Nakatomi, and not only did he already predict this previously, but he's also now predicting another hard fork attack will be announced soon and wallets will go out of Sync.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Big Dumping on: April 28, 2014, 03:53:32 PM
Someone just dumped over a million coins on mint, holy shit!

Edit: Correction, it's 3.5 million, that can't be right? some one else check on mintpal.
[

I checked.
Where do you get 3.5 Million?

I copy from Recent Market History and paste into Excel spreadsheet, I get a little over 672K FACs sold  in 57 seconds.
Most of the sell transactions at 2:47 PM and 2:56 PM

I wanted to keep watching, but I have to go run some errands.

Later...!

Whoever edited it may want an English speaker to proof read before posting. What would it take, 5 minutes to proof read??

Shoot... I was hoping to hear one of the DEVs talk in his own voice.
It's just badly-written english text over scrolling video.

I'd be happy to proof-read it for 1000 FACs.
