221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Serious bitcoin price discussion. Bears only please. How far will it drop? on: December 17, 2013, 06:35:14 PM
Looks like bitcoins stabilized at a new temporary price of $750. I think this is another temporary stop before it lowers again to a more sustainable level.

I see no reason why bitcoins won't fall back to $300 or lower now.

And this is why bears like you always miss the bottom. Earlier in this thread you kinda accepted that maybe you should buy at $500-600 and not at $400 since you usually undershoot the target. Now when there is a little panic and fear in the air you are back pedaling towards $300 and lower. You know that this way you will be sure to miss the bottom again don't you? Wink

well, the first port was before the recent news from china, keeping a target without any kind of fundamental analysis is not a good strategy imo

How can anyone be bullish by looking at this chart?
Because they're looking at a mtgox chart instead which has a higher 2nd low and thinking "oh this is just like April when it crashed to 50 and then to 78. Now were due for a rally to 900."

This is much more like 2011 than April imo, at this point I'm really expecting to see >200 on btc-e at least.. the only thing that could save the price now is something like PayPal accepting Bitcoin Tongue

China looks like its about to push up again. Weird the way the market prices are way out of balance yet their movements stay in step with each other.

I think China is dead actually  Roll Eyes

Would the damn Chinese just go and not let the door hit them in the ass on the way out?

Yes please, can't wait for that.

really? is this how you say "thank you china"? if they hadn't panic bought a few weeks ago the price wouldn't even be above 300 right now
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bears Bunker - Official thread on: December 16, 2013, 08:42:18 PM
Shouldn't bulls start a 'bull bunker' thread, now that it's going down hard?

As for where the market is, IMO it's in the middle of wave C. The first third was a weak drop, the second third happens now,
and the third and most powerful drop (itself divided into three) should happen in another 2 - 5 days, depending on volume.

Yup, although I think the recent news from China are going to keep the market in downtrend for more time than that... I really hope some good news after that because I wanna turn bull again Tongue
231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason for Today's Crash: China Bans Bitcoin Payment Processors on: December 16, 2013, 06:50:48 PM
If indeed this is confirmed further in the next couple of days, This means Chinese can't deposit money to exchanges, which is very grave.

wut?? this means that only people outside of China can still transfer money to Chinese exchanges?
232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bears Bunker - Official thread on: December 16, 2013, 06:33:08 PM

Cheesy

I see a bottom somewhere between 250-400 this month if we don't start having a massive amount of real good news.

(btw the predicted price was 400 for Christmas on the long time exponential trend, but panic..)
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: China just made Bitcoin pretty useless within China on: December 13, 2013, 06:33:23 PM
I'm in China (shanghai) - bitcoin seems to be still working OK. Blockchain downloading as per usual.

Just bought a humble bundle with bitcoins and there are no Chinese police banging on my door.

Since paypal doesn't work in China, it was the only way I had to buy Humble Bundle anyway (along with the VPN I'm using that allows me to post anti government insidious material like this).

Seriously - no one in China gives a shit about what the law says - it's illegal to do everything, yet you can do basically anything you like.

Bitcoin is legal as a "virtual commodity" in China, this means you can basically use Bitcoin as a "store of value" or just for speculation purpose.
What you can not do anymore is using Bitcoin as a crypto-currency, this is, you can't buy/sell stuff with it.
234  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Can you still use Bitcoin to buy and sell goods in China? on: December 13, 2013, 06:21:09 PM
Finally I think we have a real answer:
Quote
but essentially if bitcoin is not a currency in China and china as a state only recognizes one single currency which is the RMB. therefore all merchants, stores and services can only accept the RMB. since bitcoin is not a currency and not a recognized currency so it's actually a logical conclusion that China for now will not allow goods and services to be sold and paid for by bitcoin

Chinas supporting trend broken.Next step: daily EMA down cross. Victory for bears.
agree, it looks pretty bearish... but today is Friday so this was expected
237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 11, 2013, 05:14:18 PM
It may seems "bearish" in the short-term, but even if we go down to the 500s again it would be extremely bullish in the mid/long-term... imo a correction now would be really healthy Smiley
238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2013, 04:05:55 AM
Bears are getting nervous about their shorts, I can smell the fear.

I believe the only ones nervous here are those who didn't panic sell at 900 (or worse...). It took a month to reach the top, it will take at least 1 week to reach the bottom.
