1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where To Buy Coins on: December 10, 2017, 01:03:50 PM
GDAX, Bitfinex, Bitstamp, Cryptopay, Cex, are a few example but it depends on what payment method are you planning to use. Coinbase purchases are by credit cards, right? I think Bitstamp can be used to buy using a card.

Thanks, i can use credit card and bank account for purchases, however are there any crypto markets that are specifically for Australian residents? These exchanges mainly are for European and US residents.

Hey Guys, i'm living in Australia, and just wanted to know any good places to buy coins here. So far, could only find Coinbase with acceptable fees but is limited.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / What is Segwit ELI5. on: November 13, 2017, 06:37:37 AM
I've been here a while, lurking, but haven't really understood what is Segwit. I've tried researching but still don't really understand. Anyone offer a simple explanation?
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Satoshi Nakamoto Matter? on: October 23, 2017, 10:27:53 AM
The name is just an avatar. In real life, he holds too many currency which might make the market erupt if he releases all of them at once. So yes, he has impact, just his name doesn't matter.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SHOULD WE START LOOKING ELSE WHERE on: October 23, 2017, 10:24:26 AM
Nah, stay here the prices are skyrocketing, but i have started to look somewhere. It is too hard to even buy a fraction of one btc now.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2017, 08:04:32 AM
They don't hate it is just they don't want people to use bitcoin and RMB price will go down.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Student without much $$$ on: September 08, 2017, 12:03:29 PM
Currently alts are faster than btc, so investing them may be faster. Looking for a better job can also help you get btc faster. BTW, investing is defnitely the right choice, just need to decide what to invest in. Keep going bro!
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a good place to buy my first bitcoins? on: September 08, 2017, 11:54:27 AM
coinbase, kraken, coinjar. These are all trusted bitcoin sellers. You can also look in localbitcoins, they might have some cheap offers.
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: September 08, 2017, 11:45:16 AM
I wouldn't. Isn't weddings supposed to be a special day to exchange rings not cash. The idea of exchanging an "asset" on your wedding seems strange and not really suitable.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: September 07, 2017, 09:03:21 AM
Haha it's very interesting to look back on posts when btc was not worth so much. It totally paints this question in a new lighting. And the second comment too. If btc rose so high, people would accept it to buy a house. However, while the price is extremely high, many people are still not willing to sell in bitcoin as a payment method, and i doubt many people would use btc to buy a house.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin a good way to invest your money ? on: September 05, 2017, 11:50:46 AM
even though it is rising, we have to take into account it's massive price as well. When you factor that in, it's only rising about 10%. Still, that is huge, so it still is a good investment but not as good as before when it jumped from 400- 2000.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a currency or asset? on: September 05, 2017, 11:48:48 AM
BTC has both properties of assets and currencies. It originally started out as a method of currency, but as people realised it's worth and got more interested, it's values rose as a currency. Now it has gained the properties of volatility, and enormous potential to multiply, which is similar to assets. Therefore we keep them. So in the end, is it an asset or currency? I would say both.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Government Must be Winning! on: September 05, 2017, 09:08:34 AM
We do not need just the governments to be enemies to Bitcoiners. Scammers, bad developers, thieves, hackers, aggressive market manipulators, day traders/scalpers and pump and dump groups are also the enemies within. Unless we can curb all the bad influences inside of Bitcoin and Altcoin spaces, do not think for one moment that all this will be left so unregulated and unnoticed. If we cannot self regulate our actions to act responsibly and not be so utterly ruthless and selfish in our quest for wealth creation, then we will end up being regulated by bigger forces than us.

Agreed, but there will always be scammers and thieves for whenever there is money. This is simply something that we cannot avoid. The issue of government oppresion on bitcoin is the issue that we can tackle, and so i think that is the only force that we should try to overthrow in terms of control over economy
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: September 04, 2017, 08:36:16 AM
Outrage at first, followed by the community making up ways to bypass this restriction. Obviously, many people would value their bitcoin.
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: Suppose You got 50,000 Bitcoins on: August 31, 2017, 10:25:23 AM
Probably just quit everything, and sit around being a fat ass cos i got more than 500 million USD now HAHA. And of course the value will go up, so it is self replenishing.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Wallet without transaction fee on: August 27, 2017, 12:20:59 PM
No wallets that you can find are transaction free. It is so they can pay the miners to confirm your trades.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why compare BTC to USD? on: August 26, 2017, 12:33:44 PM
Because USD is one of the most comonly used currencies in the world, and is what most people use to talk about the price. This car is 34000 grand usd, my house is 400k usd etc. etc
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of 1 Satoshi rise to $1? on: August 24, 2017, 12:30:14 PM
25000 times it's current worth? judging from it's current unbelievably high price, i would doubt it.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this for real? I could be a millionaire? on: August 24, 2017, 12:07:50 PM
Yes, but no one could've known about what would have happened. Especially in 2013 when holders got a chance to dump, which led to not many people holding onto it.
