Regarding the photos not being legit:

They definitely are. He is using a makeshift white tape on top of the poster in order to write the updated dates to the photos. He has been providing an enormous amount of updates and photos. Check out FumbleBTC, he is helping the project out and providing more details photos. FumbleBTC is a recognized Bitcoiner in the UK space, a great guy. Check out his account for the weekly updates of aid being distributed to people in need.

See here: https://x.com/FumbleBTC/status/1733218876811305330?s=20

About the account being blocked:

I don't believe the twitter account of Yusef is blocked, it has a black photo because of mourning.

About using a multisig address

Your proposed solution would not work because:
1. Skills: The individual us not skilled enough to use a multisig, they are using custodial lightning which in this context is ideal for speed, micro-transactions, low fees, efficiency and easily spend.
2. Tools: They don't have a computer, only mobile device.
3. Reputation: the individual has already ammassed a lot of trust and reputation.
4. Technically: Lightning is better than Bitcoin onchain because it's cheap to send, enables micro-transactions, makes it easy to use for spending. And Geyser makes it possible for donors to spend onchain and for Yusuf to receive on lightning.

Some developments: https://x.com/FumbleBTC/status/1729891777673417161?s=20

Yusuf purchased lot's of water and meet for the community. Great photos to showcase the distribution of funds.

Yusuf is a humble Taxi Driver in Gaza who has been receiving contributions from the Bitcoin community - now over 610 individual donations - in support of humanitarian relief. He has been showing his Proof of Work by taking photos of water and food distribution in a place where water and food are running scarce.

He has provided an incredible amount of proof of work, and Geyser has verified him and his ID (https://x.com/geyserfund/status/1718630415559516654?s=20).

This really goes to show how Bitcoin is a grassroots humanitarian bottom-up phenomenon.

And today, I am joining the Forum again as the co-founder of Geyser, a bitcoin/LN crowdfunding platform.

I want to share it with the community, get your feedback and learn with you all.
I've known this platform for a couple of months already [thanks to "Sats Café"] and I'm really impressed with how everything works on it, but I wanted to know more about the following third-party service provider [e.g. their name and the data they have access to]?

We use https://deezy.io/ to swap onchain onto lightning and send all funds over to a lightning address. Smiley

Can you allow access for Tor browsers? I get this:
Quote
Error: Forbidden
Your client does not have permission to get URL / from this server.

We are going to release a fix very soon which will allow Tor users to access Geyser. For now you can try refreshing the bridges and it might work, a few of the Tor Nodes are blacklisted by our cloud provider.

This digital necklace shows the current price of BTC and current block height on the go.

Might be a great little accessory to showcase during the next bull run 👀

Geyser.fund is an dope platform. I know CryptoCloaks used it to fundraise money for their Big MF Printer. 👌

Great to hear that Geyser made it's way to Bitcoin Forum!

I'd love your opinion on whether we should be more present here. Also, do you think there are anonymous bitcoiners who would be interested in contributing to our Geyser Grants? geyser.fund/grants

I'm waiting to read about your project, won't go searching for it, because you posted here, you should at least give us 10 lines of introduction. We are not interested to know the name of your project, first tell us about it, when we show interest to know more, you'd reveal the name.  I just hope it's not related to LN/ICO. Because then I'd need to update myself with new ICO tactics.

Ps, back in 2017, what was your username?

Not a shitcoin platform, we are bitcoin-only. By LN, I mean the Lightning Network, as I'm sure you know.

magicmicks, or @metamick14 (also my Twitter profile).

Geyser is a bitcoin crowdfunding platform for creators who want to monetize for their projects ideas. We make it super easy for creators to get started and for contributors to fundraise their projects. So far we have helped creators raise over 26 BTC in just over a year, have over 900 projects on our platform, and route around 1-2BTC every month. In short, we are powering the bitcoin creator economy. We are seeing 3 main areas of activity: Educators, Creatives/Culture, Communities. Educators are doing great work in spreading bitcoin adoption in different ways from teaching courses to orange-pilling, Culture/creatives write books, make movies, sell art and make music around bitcoin, and Communities make meetups and events happen.

On top of running the platform for creator crowdfunding, we run Geyser Grants, where we do bitcoin givaways to projects that are doing valuable initiatives in fostering Bitcoin Education, Culture, Community: https://geyser.fund/grants. It's only thanks to anonymous Bitcoiners that we can make the Geyser Grants happen, and so far we have raised over 3BTC in Grants. Would love to know if any of you would be interested in supporting our Grants, and to foster what area of Bitcoin.

Happy to answer any questions!

Hey guys,

I joined Bitcoin Forum in 2017, and it helped me come to grips with Bitcoin.

And today, I am joining the Forum again as the co-founder of Geyser, a bitcoin/LN crowdfunding platform.

I want to share it with the community, get your feedback and learn with you all.

Best,
Metamick
