781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: February 02, 2024, 09:24:57 PM
Actually there were many news such as Lionel Messi retired from international football and wouldn't be a part of 2026 World Cup. However now he is still playing in next World Cup qualifiers. But I think this would probably be his last international competition to play. It even depends on if he changes his mind before the main tournament starts and retires even earlier.  Sad

Honestly it would be great to watch Messi in the World Cup one last time. But as he finally achieved a World Cup title with Argentina too it is really hard to be sure of him. It was the last piece of the puzzle in his career for him you know.  Smiley

The last piece of the puzzle in a career but not in business. How else can we explain the fact that he is going (according to leaks) to take part in the Olympics (youth tournament lol) in Paris together with Di Maria? Messi is a big brand and they will milk him until he can move around the field at all (even in his best years he didn’t really run, so the difference won’t be very noticeable hahaha).
782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 02, 2024, 08:15:42 PM
As a result, the quarterfinal pairings turned out to be as random as possible:

Nigeria - Angola                  1.69 - 3.53 - 5.19

Congo - Guinea                   2.35 - 2.84 - 3.38

Mali - Ivory coast                3.68 - 2.88 - 2.21

Cape Verde - South Africa    2.69 - 2.86 - 2.84

We literally have one favorite, and the rest of the teams have a ~40% chance of winning at best. I think it makes sense to bet on a draw in all games except the first, the team, exhausted in the 1/8 finals, is unlikely to take much risk in games with equal opponents, especially when there are two steps left to the title. It might even be worth betting on the exact score 0-0 and 1-1.

This odds have a lot to say, and they were given to the team that is most likely to get out of this stage with a good chance of qualifying, which is Nigeria. The odds for the other teams are unclear, and it is impossible to determine which team has a better chance of winning than the others. However, these are all speculations based on what each team has demonstrated in this competition thus far. For the competition, every team that wants to advance to the next round must put in the effort to defeat their opponents in the quarterfinals. Tomorrow, the quarterfinals will begin, and the competition has been very unpredictable, with lower teams eliminating bigger teams which we least expected in the competition.

Damn Nigeria, I was hoping they would win at least 2-0. Moreover, it cannot be said that the game was boring; judging by the statistics, both teams tried:

Shots - 13:9
Shots on target - 3:2
Corners - 4:7

In addition, Osimhen scored a goal from offside, and Angola hit the post. In general, this game also turned out to be equal and Nigeria was lucky that they finished it in normal time. I think before the semi-finals they would not be happy to waste their energy in extra time or even penalty shootouts.
783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 02, 2024, 08:09:31 PM
Finally, the standings have returned to normal and all teams have the same number of games played. It's time to look at the odds of the contenders for the title:

Real Madrid 1.12

Girona 6.86

Barcelona Fc 16.66

Atlético Madrid 33.32

If we add a fifth team here - Athletic Bilbao 245.98, then it becomes obvious that there is already a very large gap between each position and everything looks so that we already know how the teams will be positioned in the top 4 or even top 5 at the end of the season. I can’t say that this is typical for La Liga or any other top league in general.
As a Real Madrid fan, I am glad that the title is already in their pocket and they can concentrate on the Champions League.

785  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: SOLANA on: February 02, 2024, 07:47:30 PM

786  Local / Oбcyждeниe Bitcoin / Re: «Грязные» биткойны on: February 02, 2024, 07:37:01 PM

Grin

Wink  Grin

788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +93999 units on: February 02, 2024, 06:54:21 PM
That did not go wellm but for the odds, I'd take it again and again. Next up for City isn't one I'll take though, only 7/1 for a team not even in the top half? No thanks.

Liverpool, however, face Arsenal once more as the underdogs. It was a beautiful win last time out with over 4/1 odds. Tomorrow it's only 3/1 but we actually feature a stronger lineup so maybe that explains the odds.

I'm still confident of the win and 3/1+ is value so let's try and get Liverpool get us over the line again?

500 units on Liverpool to WIN vs Arsenal @3.26. Other odds: 3.1.
Units advantage: 75
Bet ID: 65bd1b18c2ff40000130efd0

Running advantage after 60 bets: +6419 (+75)
All-time cumulative: +96,289
Running units after 59 bets (4W|55L): -1892 (-100)

I agree about City, the odds for Brentford to win at 7 is just ridiculous. The team literally scores a point per game on average and they are so greedy not to give odds of 10+?  Huh
I'm not sure about betting on Liverpool vs Arsenal away, because Arsenal are also good. I think here you are acting as a fan and not as a bettor  Wink
The most important thing is that the game does not end in a draw (in favor of City).

790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: February 01, 2024, 10:54:53 PM
Basically, I don’t spend time on this because it’s one thing to find a specific answer to the question that interests me (deposit deadlines, withdrawal deadlines and other utilitarian things) and another thing to read sheets of text in legal language, which are written only to correspond to what something to the norm. For me, the reputation of the casino is much more important and not what they have in their ToS.
Plus, in general, I don’t understand what you can find in the ToS (except for really utilitarian questions) - there are notes everywhere * about changing conditions, the right of the casino to change the ToS at any time, and so on.
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your multi-bet (paroli) strategy? on: February 01, 2024, 10:47:22 PM
People that gamble in sports will know that grouping your bets in a single slip (often called paroli) is a way to increase the odds on your stake. The massive downside this has is that if you make even a single wrong prediction, your whole stake at the given betting slip is counted as a loss.

The big advantage multi-bets can have is that it can lead to extremely high multipliers even if many bets with small odds are combined.
So I'm wondering if people out there have a certain multi-bet strategy.
For me I'm trying to figure out if there's a good strategy for multi-bets but it's not something that easy.
Good thing is that when playing with high odds, let's say chasing 10x multibets, it's ok to have a losing slip every so often.

If you go for odds that are 10x for instance, if you win more than 1 in 10 times you are still earning more than you're losing. Might sound easy but it's not. Cheesy
Luckily crypto bookmakers allow very small bets so it's easy to experiment.
So, anyone else here playing with multi-bets? Any strategies?

I mainly make multi-bet and almost always with high odds of the outcomes that make up this multi-bet. If I bet on the favorite to win, I take a handicap of -1 or even -2 so that the odds are large.
The main thing you need to know about multi-bet is that the bookmaker takes its margin from each outcome in a multi-bet, so the more outcomes you choose (even if they are “reliable” with small odds) the more you lose (or let’s say your chances are lower).
Let's say you selected 13 events with odds of 1.2 and your final odds are 10.7. This is a terribly unprofitable bet when compared from three outcomes bet with odds of 2.2 and a final odds of 10.65. In the first case, the bookmaker has a much greater advantage, surprisingly.
792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 01, 2024, 10:37:05 PM
Joselu has already converted one of his chances and after the first half Real leads 1-0. I also expect Real to win +2 goals (since I predicted their victory 3-0), but I can’t say that they will strain too much to achieve this score. At the moment, bookmakers see the most likely score as 2-0 in Real Madrid's favor.
Oh, I see that the hosts made a triple substitution at half-time, this could liven up the game! I hope for an open game (then Real will definitely score at least 2 more).
So the bookmakers have been right at the moment, if it stays like this, then the result will be 2:0. But there are still 10 minutes to play and Real Madrid have often scored in the last few minutes. If it stays like this, Real will be back on first place in La Liga with a 2-point lead. It is still unbelievable that Girona are playing so well for so long and have a real chance of winning the league, also a better chance than FC Barcelona at the moment... crazy. Sunday is a hard game for Real, they have to play vs Atletico again, they just recently lost there game in the spanisch cup.

Yes, the bookmakers turned out to be right (and I wasn’t, damn how many predictions for Real’s 3-0 victory I’ve already burned), but I wouldn’t say that it was logical - Real missed too many scoring opportunities for the 2-0 score to be considered “fair”. I’ll have to look at the expected goals statistics in this game later, I’m sure it’s more than 3.
Joselu scored a double, now he has 7 goals in La Liga, very good, I remember how he complained in an interview that he was suffering greatly from the fact that he could not be as effective as he should be in Real Madrid. I hope this gives him confidence.
793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 01, 2024, 10:31:51 PM

Some really unfancied teams have made it this far. I did not predict the likes of Senegal, Morocco and Egypt or even Algeria to get knocked out before the 1/4 finals.

I guess every dog has its day. It’s time for somebody else to become Kings Of Africa. It’d be a beautiful story if Cape Verde could do it, they are such a small country, it’d be a great story.

Nigeria and the Ivory Coast can completely break this picture if they end up in the finals. Ivory Coast have regularly played in African Cup finals so the Nigeria - Ivory Coast final will be a "standard" one (at least on paper, even though they don't have the strongest team).

Aye LFC_Bitcoin, let's hope the remaining "favourite" falls (sorry Igebotz) so we can have a true mix of "anyone can win it" in the semis. I know Ivory Coast feels like a fav but they're a shadow of the team they were. Cape Verde, all them Portuguese bitcointalk members could be secretly betting on them?
~

I am more interested in the question of whether the bookmakers suffered from such a fall of favorites or were able to hedge on players (as always). Such randomness of results was both predictable and not.
794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 01, 2024, 10:24:37 PM
Recently we saw many news about Salah and Liverpool. He got injured and he couldn't play for Egypt that's why many Egyptian players and fans were attacking him and they said Salah was not loyal to Egypt because he was not even hardly injured but he didn't play for his national team.
According to the last news, Salah is getting back to good form and he started training in the field.

Grin The news is good, but now the fans have even more excuses (not reasons) to harass Salah.
I am annoyed by people who can “check” the diagnosis and condition of someone (in this case Salah) with the power of thought. And yes, they can also read his mind to find out whether he is truly loyal or not. But I think Salah himself treats this philosophically - he has been in football all his life and I think he has already encountered crazy fanatics who are always dissatisfied with something.

According to the odds from the betting platforms, Nigeria is the only team with fewer odds, which makes them the favorites in this round of eight. But we have seen how the competition has been so far; many teams we expected to have been in this stage have been eliminated, and only a few make it to this stage, which shows that anything can happen even though experience will take over hard work in these stages of the competition.

AFCON this year is interesting to watch. Many countries have stepped up their performance to prove to the world that there will be no separate teams or countries that will be ruling African football. This is a good sign of development in African football.

I am hoping that the Nigerian Super Eagles will be able to make it the semi-finals by defeating Angola, because the Angola players have already received so many gifts from different places just to encourage them to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria, but I am sure the Super Eagles are also making all the basic preparations for the match, nevertheless, lets wait and see what the match result brings.

Maybe the tournament has really become more diverse/even, but when I see such a composition of participants in the quarter-finals, I begin to get some analogies with the Europa League and even the Conference League.
Nigeria is the only favorite. There is also the Ivory Coast which have already won the African Cup and regularly played in the finals. I would probably like to see this couple in the final so that there would be no doubts about the status of the tournament.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 01, 2024, 09:06:25 PM

Soon we will watch the match between Getafe vs Real Madrid and the line-ups for both teams have been released. As we can see, Real Madrid still relies on Lunin for goalkeeping and Bellingham is also fit for today's match. On the other hand, Ancelotti used a duo of Vinicius and Joselu for the attack line and it appears that Ancelotti has substituted Rodrygo for this match. Apart from that, Dani Carvajal also appeared on the bench and is currently being replaced by Lucas Vasquez.

Meanwhile, Getafe still entrusts Borja Mayoral and Mason Greenwood to score goals, maybe Real Madrid's defense should be more alert to these two players so they don't concede easily. Apart from all that, Real Madrid must win and shift Girona back, it would be very detrimental if the match ended in a draw or loss. At least Real Madrid must win with a difference of 2 goals.

Joselu has already converted one of his chances and after the first half Real leads 1-0. I do understand and respect the opinion of you guys against VAR or technology, but I disagree
Teams and national teams these days are all professional, there's too much work and money involved to throw it all away because of human error
Imagine you're the owner of a team, or you're a player, coach, etc. Just imagine you get to a final, for example, and because of human error, you lose that game. Wouldn't that be VERY unfair?
I think it's very valid to use all resources to minimize mistakes

I'll just cite a very grotesque example, in 2002 the United States team played against Germany, it was 1x0 to Germany, look what happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg3psAYfOv8
I remember well because I was rooting to US and they were playing very well, maybe their best team so far, and they are totally
And they were totally prejudiced by an error that VAR could easily have solved today

The outcome of that match could have been totally different, including the final. Who knows, maybe the US could have gone further?
There are tons of examples, and we can think of something closer to us, imagine making a big bet and losing it because of a mistake by the referee?
That's pretty unfair

But one mistake by the referee breaks the pace of the game much more because the players argue and even if the game has resumed, then in the case of an obvious mistake the players think about it all the time and the game of the team against which the injustice was committed often turns out to be broken. And if the mistake affected the outcome of the game, then the entire tournament is broken (it’s unlikely that anyone will agree that they actually lost the game if the referee’s mistake affected its outcome). VAR is the lesser of two evils.
By the way, I follow chess, and the problem of cheating is very acute there, and you know, no one is happy that “human nature is such” that he can play not according to the rules (use computer tips). On the contrary, many believe that chess is already dead (all dead in general, there is no even talk about online).
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: February 01, 2024, 08:46:35 PM

Historically, many can be called strong, for example, Crvena Zvezda or Steaua - both of these clubs won the Champions League, but in today's realities they cannot be favorites even in the Conference League. Likewise, Porto are clear underdogs in games against Arsenal. Here are the odds for the first game:

4.31 - 3.58 - 1.78

Even away, Arsenal are favorites. Taking into account the fact that this is the most convenient scheme for a two-game confrontation (first an away game then at home), I don’t think that there can be any surprises here. Even if Porto somehow manages to win in the first game, Arsenal will solve all the issues in the return game.
Well the old time football is quite different from now and the issues most teams are having is that they weren’t able to adapt to the changes. We have teams who were considered big teams in the old time football and even won the Champions League but they’re nothing to write home about in recent football.
~

It's not about the teams that couldn't adapt, it's about the economy. The more football became a business, the more successful clubs from rich countries became. Once upon a time, Eastern Europe could compete on equal terms with Western Europe, but economic processes have led to the fact that now rich countries completely dominate. Now no club from a small country (and therefore with a smaller budget because the market size is smaller, even if the standard of living in the country is good) has no chance of being consistently successful. If some Ajax appears that will play like Bayern, then all its players will be taken away immediately after the end (and maybe before the end haha) of the season.
799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 01, 2024, 08:35:23 PM
Ten Hag couldn't have a good performance in Manchester United and they are still in the middle of the premier league table and Manchester United needs some changes to give some a shock get things together before they lose more points.
Since the Innos is the new owner of Manchester United, they want to change their coach and stop working with Ten Hag, there is the possibility for Mourinho to return to Manchester United. there are even some players in Manchester United who have been in the team from the time when Mourinho was working there like Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw.

https://www.pulsesports.ng/football/story/mourinho-eyes-sensational-return-to-man-united-with-ineos-2024013119371842433

I have conflicting feelings about this option. On the one hand, Mourinho can squeeze water out of a stone and achieve results beyond expectations, but on the other hand, United is such a mystical club that even he can fail there. Taking into account the fact that not everyone objectively assesses Jose's successes at Roma, United could become “another” failure for Mourinho. I wouldn't want him to take that risk. Even returning to Chelsea looks more interesting in my opinion.
800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 31, 2024, 09:17:19 PM
Historically Porto is clearly better than Arsenal, because the Portuguese representatives have two UCL trophies in their cupboard while Arsenal have none. In terms of mentality, it is clear that Porto is better than Arsenal, but things have now changed and Arsenal has better bargaining power than Porto. Reasonably enough, Arsenal has better attributes and squad depth than Porto, Arteta spent big last summer. However, Arsenal and Porto are not favorites to win this season, because clubs like Madrid, Man City and Bayern have better strengths.

On paper, I'm pretty sure Arsenal can get through to the round of 16 by beating Porto, even though we realize that Porto is not a team that can be underestimated. In the group phase Arsenal suffered one defeat, while Porto experienced it twice, maybe this can be a reference if you want to bet on their match. So far Arsenal have been considered consistent in the EPL, and in my opinion they have a chance to reach the semi finals this season.
