Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CANADA to regulate ICO. RUSSIA is next?

As I saw in the past lots of scam came and still come also from Russia. It let me become very cautious when too many Russian names are in an ICO team. I guess furthermore that they consider it as an easy way for money laundering as was mentioned before. Thanks to heaven, Europe is very slowly in regulating "Internet things", but it is of course no easy task. I bet everyone, except the scammers, would wish to see just honest ICOs but take a look at the stock exchanges. Even there's today lots of frauds that just taking investors money. Where money is, fraud would never be far.

Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [EDU] How to spot a scammer (Read this before doing any transactions!)

Very good overview.
But I see a "funny" problem: If there appears a let's say, more intelligent scammer, he would first do his research and will maybe find this post. Orienting on your descriptions the scammer could adapt his behavior to avoid accusations and seems to be a trustworthy user.
But I think that is always a problem with detailed warnings: the bad guys can read them too and just adapt.

I talked with founders and inventors and none of them ever said they feared their ideas could be stolen as the ones who would be really interested in stealing are the ones who just want to make profit out of it but do not want to input the work needed to generate the profit.

As an author of both self-published and published books, this project sounds very interesting to me. One of the biggest issues will be to reach the mass market of readers. Today the competition on the book market grows harder and harder, meaning Publica should invest a certain effort in marketing as well (if not the main part of raised money). And I cannot recognize how you took this into account. How much you will spend for this?

I believe also in destiny. There might be things that do not even lay in the hands of God. So even if you believe that God is almighty this includes that things can be and cannot be at the same time. So it can lay in his hands and cannot. But whatsoever we should deal with it as best as we can.

I think the possibility that we could see another war on the Korean peninsula has increased significantly since last weekend. Let's hope that the super powers find a diplomatic way to solve this issue.

Comparing the 90-day charts on coingecko.com it seems to me like I mentioned. As in Gold/Silver, you see often a forerun or a run after of silver, one can state the same behavior for ETH to BTC. And yes it is impressive in percentages and % is the only count at the market BTC rose about 300 % ETH about 600 % ETH seems like the clear outperformer (currently) And yes ETH and BTC are completely different. As Gold (currency) and silver (industry metal) is. Yes, the comparison might limp but I would of course never say they are an equal pair. Just discussing and seeking for answers.

Well the question is also what might happen with ETH, if there will appear stronger international regulations for ICOs. In this scenario, the price might decrease if there won't be any real life applications for it, that makes it a necessary good for exchange. And this could also happen by next year as the SEC and other institutions are keenly seeking for a way to regulate ICOs.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Ethereum, where will you go?
|

As Ethereum is traded as the "second important currency" in the market it comes to my mind to compare the pair BTC/ETH with Gold/Silver. As the behavior seems to bee similar. When one rises the other follows and vice versa. So I want to open this thread to discuss the future of the "second currency" Ethereum.
When you post a possible goal for Ethereum in an estimated timeframe, I am also interested for what reasons yout think of this goal.
In my opinion the rise of ETH is as unbelievable as it appears in BTC till the beginning of this year, remembering April 2017 when ETH stood at about 50 $. So its increase in value is much more impressive as that of BTC.
Keeping this development in mind a course of 600 to 800 $ seems to be a realistic reach even in this year.
What to you think?
