I still believe that some years later, the price will really grows up and be better than this.In my opinion, BTC is a very promising coin to hold for the long time. I have ever done about this. 
Holding them for some years when buying in the cheap price and then this year, the price is growing up.

Research says that invest in ICO's are very risky and yes it's like a gambling game that youexert a lot of effort to invest on that coin and will pump as well. i really want to buy coins that realease in the market and it matters the most.
 

Yes you can hold them as long as you want but you should consider storing them in paper wallet or some hardware wallet. Not store them on an exchange for long term. Similarly in case of desktop client or mobie wallet you should also avoid them as in case of some malware/virus you may end up losing your wallet.

ETH is a good coin  and we have seen the potential it has in the market, it has continued to grow against all odds, steadily recovering form the dip to gain more value. it will grow and its value will increase, however the 15k Mark is a little over ambitious for the year that started on a very low note, ETH will grow at some point and may reach that level someday is it continues to grow its market capitalization, this year however, it still have some proper recovery to do and maintain price stability.

In 2017 ICOs collected a lot of money, so greedy people come to crypto. And now we can see, that really near 80% ICO are scam. Investors do not want bring money and a lot of projects cant collect even softcap. BUT, i think that scam is not only unfair project, but it is project, that cant get listing on exchange, has weak development, does not hear investros. It is necessary to choose projects very carefully

Some of the altcoin I trust and hold that are ICON, WAN, NEO and Cardano. These are valuable altars and good potential, I believe they will bring more profit to me and long term investors in the future. At present prices of these altcoin are still quite low, this is a good opportunity for us to buy and hold. And Cardano is my favorite altcoin. Ethereum have already proven that it can go up and make some all-time high like bitcoin in its early years. 
This promising and solid built cryptocurrency will sure go up in the future because of its platform where developers can able to different kind of applications and tokens. Ethereum is next to bitcoin in profitability and popularity so it's better to invest on it than any other altcoins 

I think Bitcoin is still a winner because it is still a coin that people like, even though the Ethereum Network is currently making more transactions at a higher speed than bitcoin, 99% of alternative coins are based on the Ethereum network, judging from the use of course ethereum is far better than bitcoin, but now it's too early to talk about winners,  because launching a new network means there will be more opportunities and situations can change at any time.

Basically if you buy coin from an ICO or pre-ICO stage is a lot more cheaper than buying it on an exchange which would mean the ICO is done. But it is very risky to buy coins during the ICO period because there is no assurance yet that the coin you'll buy will be successful or will be listed in some exchange sites. There are some coins that will flop and there are some that won't, even if the project looks legit there are scam ICO's too.
 

Since you're holding for a long term why don't you go for the Top coins rather than choosing altcoins, don't get me wrong I'm not saying that altcoins are bad its just that it would be better to pick coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum with a solid foundation already, not to mention the demand and supply of this coins, I'm pretty sure you won't go wrong investing either of the two but if you really want altcoins then feel free to invest into NEO, DENT or PRL, this coins are top of my alt coin list.

i think that crypto is not dangerous but some countries banned it because it is decentralised. Meaning, government cannot have the control and cannot tax it. Government wants to control every  money transactions which they can have the data in banks. But for individual it is advantageous because nobody knows how much wealth you have since we  are anonymous. Crypto can devalue even the most powerful country currency and that what are they afraid of because it has the tendency to  control the world.

This is not a good development in the cryptospace. The statistics is discouraging to investors but I feel is common for most start-ups to fail at the early stage even in the traditional business community.
  It is necessary for investors to be well acquainted with all the information about the ICO project there are supporting and measure the risk before getting in.
Failure is a possibility as most ICOs are start-ups or even ideas.
