Hey all I was wondering what the link button does to the left of a reward? I've clicked it a few times and so far it's a mystery button to me. XD

They don't even have enough power for their country. I'm not saying they aren't willing to starve 1000's of people for a mining operation...but it seems implausible especially considering their one 5 star hotel shuts down when guests check out.

Unless a big bank comes up with a million BTC buy in, it is almost impossible to control and manipulate the price of BTC. I've read instances of banks actually trying to do this kind of a move and have miserably failed in their attempt and ended up settling for a significant loss. Opposing the decentralisation system, any attempts at assessing authority will end up in huge losses for whoever tries.
very interesting! I was wondering if you can link me to a post or tell where you observed this. I would love a fun read haha.

So now that large Banks and investment firms are starting to get involved,
getting involved with what? with bitcoin? where is your reference? with blockchain technology? that has nothing to do with bitcoin. don't confuse the two. do you think they will try to manufacture crash and correction scares to trigger more doubt and an exodus of "the weak hands"?
the manipulations have been happening all along. or maybe you missed all the recent "China banned bitcoin and mining" FUD! or maybe you missed the previous "Bitcoin will split and die" FUD! or maybe you missed other "China banned bitcoin" FUD, or the last year "Bifinex was hacked bitcoin is dead" FUD you see, manipulation is nothing new. you think that JP Morgan CEO who said some BS was not manipulation? is this possible?
it is possible and it is happening but severity of things like this have a limit. you can't really push price down after some point the same as you can't push it up after some point. there is a whole lot of market, and it becomes harder as it grows bigger. (I apologize as i've just gotten of work so i'm in a short answer mood) No where in my first post I never uttered the words blockchain I know the difference. JP Morgan has bought some bitcoin, it's all over the forums and reddit and apparently was verified on the ledger. if i'm wrong someone speak up and i'll withdraw this statement. Other banks are on the sidelines considering or putting plans in the works. As for the open ended question, the whole post is about bitcoin on a bitcoin forum, what could they possibly be getting involved in, I bet you it's probably bitcoin. Getting away from this snarky tone. Basically they do in fact have the power to buy into bitcoin, my question is does that mean they have the power to boost and dump, that would create far more severe peaks and valleys than we've seen before as opposed to the somewhat gently ones we've seen even considering the 300% rise this year. me personally i'm holding till the cows come home bull or bear market. They have the billions to do such a move is what i'm saying. now at what rate, I don't know. that's something to ask exchanges. I am worried the banks will try to make one of a few self fulfilling prophecies, and they haven't shown their true strength. Right now they are whining like preschoolers and I hope it stays that way. I worry too about people leaving because of their involvement when it comes to negative actions. I see bitcoin as fairly resistant to it for a whole host of reasons, but is it resistant to a massive 1 billion dollar sell off by one entity? That's more of what i'm worried about.

So now that large Banks and investment firms are starting to get involved, do you think they will try to manufacture crash and correction scares to trigger more doubt and an exodus of "the weak hands"? For some reason I feel like we may see this kind of game play involving bitcoin, unless the exchanges try and do something about it. I know many exchanges have limits to help both themselves and market fluctuations. But imagine a massive sell off that kpe bitcoin at the same price for years or made it go down severely enough to trigger worry among even veteran users. is this possible? should more precautions be taken against greedy abuse of the system. is the system already to resilient to be messed with by them. thoughts please.

Not to nitpick, but your flyer is more about the faucet than Bitcoin itself. It does raise awareness though, so I wish you luck. It kind of looks like a full blown advertisement though, so I can see why people do not respond too eagerly.
Remember that everything I talk about has to be bitcoin, if I don't prove what it is, the flyer means nothing. That said, of course it's about the faucet. it's the easiest way to get involved. You don't need to invest or risk your money. it takes less than 5 minutes, and finally you can simply watch it grow if you want too. It's the best entry platform of all worlds. That's why i chose it. If I thought coinbase was the easiest way, i would pitch that....but it isn't, can be frustrating and requires sensitive information to get into the game. With any faucet but especially this one you win by basically signing up. This is calculated. It's also easier to describe in a conversations than mining and high level language. So frankly YOU find a better way to get people involved in bit coin without literally handing them wallets that they might throw away. This really is the best of all worlds and on top of that I get a small bump that doesn't take away from anyone else which i also give back to them XD. The truth is no matter what you do, it's still pitching, it's still going to look like an advertisement and it's still something new that people may not be comfortable with. I just put it all up front and offer a pleasant conversation.

It depends on how old they are. Highschool students would probably get it the most. Some middle school students as well. I would say it's a type of peer to peer technology that is also a currency. That is the 30 second explanation. Now the 5-10 minute explanation would start to get technical about wallets, addresses and the prospect of mining.

I find the real trick to it is knowing what your urban context is. I live in LA and because of this there are certain cities bound to have bitcoin ATMS. often they are located next to specific telling tech shops like tesla to name one. The closest one to me is around 7 miles away.

Good morning! Loving the responses. I totally agree about the demographic. but it's also a cultural thing, many women don't get ahead with technology so why keep up on it. Iv'e seen the opposite in many situations however. (college campuses, conventions, etc) I'm am altruistic man, and i'm trying to spread the word of bitcoin because there are ways to get it for free that will also benefit me. By giving people access to a simple faucet, or system that accrues interest. even if it sat therefore eternity they are essentially helping them selves, me and everyone else. I'll include a photo of my flyer for the faucet. it's amazing what a little experience in Photoshop, splash pages, and selling technique will do. I made the flyer in Photoshop formatted specifically for vista print. I think it gets to the point without killing the reader. There is a back side with my spam email, I also offer 10 percent back to anyone who participates with my personal commission. So i'm offering them a lot under my wing. if I know them I give them the amount needed to accrue interest. The purpose of this post wasn't to make a referral link btw. I have a product that sells itself. it's literal free money, a service to themselves and the community. Combined with a stand I think this would have a muuuch higher success rate. Someone said to post on reddit for some props? god if I had a sponsor I could get this off the ground within a week in several spots. I also pitch this on several levels and media outlets. One of my friends already has like $50 in bitcoin atm. There is noting to lose. P.S. I'm handing out the psd if you would like to market in your area. IM me with a way to get it to you.

This post is both true and very silly I love it. I was out explaining bitcoin on the street to people after work and am laughing my butt off. Thanks for sharing I might have to copy/ paste this to a text file.

So I ordered around 100 flyers to pass to friends family and the public about resources and information regarding bitcoin.
Finding the demographic:
I went to my local fair to hand them out and the reactions are very interesting.
In the late Generation X to early millennial crowd. None of them really know about bitcoin. When I start explaining it to them they get even ,more lost haha.
Younger people and business owners were the most receptive.(business owners like a good pitch)
I'm not sexist, but found that women were the most clueless. (I'm sure this would be very different at a different venue or on a college campus)
There were also some holdouts interestingly who are in the "it's a fad" crowd.
very interesting viewpoints. I was pitching the freebitco faucet by flyer. (not including a link because that's not what i'm here for.)
because this was a family event I had to pay attention to how i approached families and couples more than say a rock concert or sporting event.
I think I managed to hand out 20 flyers in an hour out of 100.
Personal thoughts: If I could I would love to set up a table with screens and a laptop to demonstrate how easy and free it is to get involved with bitcoin. My personal buy in at the moment is just a little too high.
Signing up people on the spot and transferring them say $1-5 worth of bitcoin would get the ball rolling faster and the discussions would become longer.
I usually never have a problem in intimate settings such as a bar or small gathering.
Discussion: Do you or have you done such a thing? what are your experiences? Where do you find the most receptive places are to go? comments/ advice.
Cheers.

This is maybe a stupid question - but this more recent fork seems like it came up out of nowhere pretty suddenly, and I follow the crypto news decently closely. From a technical standpoint, is it possible to make a fork happen pretty much at any point?
The gold fork was actually trying to beat out the second larger fork. It's been disclosed on various sites and videos confirming why it suddenly appeared. as compared with the other more serious fork afterwards. Frankly we really should be pushing people to stay put for a while because more and more folks are adopting bitcoin these days.

For long term I recommend investing in bot and giving some love to litecoin as well. Long term I think we all hold the solitary belief that coin prices will rise. The difference being is that etherium and other altcoin have the ability to possibly double again faster. However all of these things happen at the pace of Bitcoin adoption. So i recommend both.

There is no reason to worry about the law as you will be paying taxes on it in some way or form eventually. As the others have said, it's just good business to notify your bank for sudden large transactions that defy your norm. For example: you make $700 every two weeks then suddenly dump 10,000 int your account. Tell them ahead of time.

Honestly I believe very few people let alone couples understand what bitcoin actually is...and unles you paired with something..it wouldn't seem all that grand unless you explained you were handing them $4000.

I wish i had known about it in 2009 I would have so many at this point. by the time it was on my radar they were already worth $400 I know how to do everything required to attain it too. XD

People who invested when you could get like 50 for a few bucks often drop or lose their hard drives. One guy threw it away and it had millions worth of bitcoin on it XD.
