181  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't be greedy at this time. on: December 21, 2020, 07:10:10 AM
To be honest, this bitcoin rally bothers me a lot. I am newbie trader and I just recently started studying about the basic concept of trading and was planning to short the upcoming dowtrend if there is any. This led me to become confused whether if I should sell based on the other traders speculative price or just leave the market temporarily and start learning a more in depth T.A.

This is driving me nuts!
Be careful traders speculative price are sometime deceptive. You will have rely on your own findings and make decision on your own. What works for peter might not work for Paul. Remember, there are thousands of coin in the market. While some will rise some will fall. For every trade you make, do not forget to use stop loss especially when you will not be available all the time to monitor your trading. If you are willing to take time off to study trading more, well that will be better. You can put what you have learn to practice by using demo account for real life experience. https://bitsgap.com/demo-trading/ will give you the best demo account with over 100,000 USD to buy various crypto listed on the platform.
182  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who are the 1% of traders who earn with trading? on: December 20, 2020, 12:53:11 PM
Those 1% could be some big investors that throw hundred of thousand dollars into trading. For them, just 5% rise is a good profit and they have been able to consistently trade with this huge money with confidence of making profit particularly on less volatile coin such as bitcoin compare to altcoin. I still do not believe anybody will enter into trading crypto without mindset of making profit. So honestly think 100% of people that trade have intention of making profit. If you wanna trade for fun or for the love of trading chart, Demo account is there for trading  Grin. Unfortunately a lot of people that quilt early are traders that enter with little capital and set so much bogus expectations for themselves so when they try for some weeks and failed, they abandon the project "get rich quickly"
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I am not investing in Bitcoin, I am staying with Altcoins on: December 20, 2020, 12:04:35 PM
Which crypto is not getting hyped? I am just hoping you will not come here to tell us a story how you lose your money buying altcoin. It could have been better if you list some of the altcoin you are interested in buying here so that you can get different view about your prospective portfolio. During the bull run in 2017, alot of altcoin also rise as investors also throw money to buy many of this altcoin. When the bitcoin price fell below 10k, all the altcoin was bleeding. Today bitcoin has set another ATH but most of the altcoin that witness price drop have never reach their ATH when bitcoin is already setting another ATH. If you bought many of this altcoin then you will understand my point. Unless you are interested in altcoin such as ETH, I cannot vouch for you that many altcoin will also bullish
184  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CONFESSION TIME: I SOLD TOO EARLY on: December 20, 2020, 11:54:15 AM
I got into Bitcoin in 2016 through Freebitco.in when its price was $416. Then it gave out about 800 sats per hr on its faucets. Even though there were some standard and functional exchanges back then, there were no practical way to deposit fiat from my country for purchases. So, the only option was faucets.
I was able to raise about 0.04 btc from that site which I invested in mostly arbitrage trades on DOGE/BTC markets in Tradesatoshi, Coinexchage, Bluetrade, Mercatox, Coingather and some other similar exchanges that had doge sub-markets.

I made a lot of money from my arbs, also made losses with some exchanges exit scamming and all that. Then came the 2018 slump. I watched helplessly as my portfolio dwindled day after day, and when I couldn't take it anymore, I sold it all off and withdrew my money.

In hindsight I sold too early.
You could not hold back and watch that money falling again. It could have been otherwise if bitcoin did not become what it is today. For me I think you did not run on a lost. In 2027. I made around $4000 from bounty hunting. I was a Jr. Member here on the bitcointalk. I was very happy because I had never make such a money from internet even when I was a regular crowdworker on popular platform called Crowdflower. The joy I felt made me to keep my coins with the hope that this will continue to rise. When bitcoin started falling early 2018 and all altcoins were bleeding, my owe portfolio went down and I had less than $400. I could not bear the loss anymore. I had to empty my portfolio. It would have been entire sad story if I had left that other few bitcoin I had on cryptopia before it was hacked.
185  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking for methods to earn at least 1$ hourly on: December 20, 2020, 09:24:47 AM
You are already setting limitations for yourself. Those areas you mentioned can still be explored. There is nowhere anyone we mentioned without its limitation. If you are from a third-world country, I can suggest neobux.com for you. You can earn at least $1 a day completing various tasks surveys etc and they have various payment options. I used to work on the platform as a crowd-worker before crowdflower was sold to figure eight. Depending on your country, you can have more access to surveys and tasks that pay more. However, you need a lot of time on the site because new tasks and surveys can come up at any time. Aside from this, you can look for what you derive pleasure in doing and offer a freelance. If you keep on shying away from competition, I don't think you can achieve anything, to be honest.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Major differences between Bitcoin rally 2017 and 2020 on: December 20, 2020, 07:05:57 AM
The rise is only much to bitcoin unlike in 2017 in which altcoin prices also went up with some token going 10x of the initial price. Investors switch to some altcoin rather than focusing on the bitcoin only. The fee were not as high as this present price in 2017. Also I remembered vividly then that the price went up to 100% within 24 hours. It seems this present bull run is more stable compare to the 2017 bull run. The resistance levels are adequately supported and when there was some correction when the price went below 20k few days ago, the recovery rate was strong and quick to go back above 20k. It might be an indication that the next correction might be greatly supported with strong resistance and we might not see great fall in price unlike 2018.

188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government don't accept Bitcoin. on: December 19, 2020, 05:31:28 AM
Would love to know which country you are from maybe some other people in the country here on the forum can give your more insight on how to use it. Since your government do not want it, it will be difficult to see any local exchanger in your country due to the fear. Making use of p2p platform to get bitcoin sold and pay to your bank account might be an option but it is not safe either. If the bank discover that the money come from a crypto related settlement, your account can be freeze. However, there are many goods and services you can buy with bitcoin out there. You can buy gadgets etc with bitcoin and also convert your bitcoin to gift card for extended service usage. Also you should be careful making use of custodian wallet to avoid government seizing of freezing your asset
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion is highly needed! on: December 19, 2020, 05:20:53 AM
Sorry in the last few paragraph of your narrative, you sighted about how lucrative the real estate business is but you already talked about the person wanting to buy the house and paying house rent. Is the person interested in buying house and sell it later as a real estate investment? If the house is being bought for personal use, taking loan to buy house means you already have a payment plan on how to pay back the money because you cant take a loan to buy an asset without having plan on how to payback. It is different from when you take loan to do a business although each has its own risk.
To answer your question, crypto investment involve both a big risk and also adequate knowledge about trading is needed. Taking the 50k to invest or trade bitcoin is not a bad idea if he knows well how to trade. 50k is huge and from experience in trading, the higher your capital, the more your interest
190  Economy / Economics / Re: Loans are cheap good time to use loans for Investment in btc on: December 18, 2020, 01:07:21 PM
I don't understand what you mean by loan being cheap probably because of the low interest and lengthy period given to pay back loan but no matter how good it is, I will never encourage anyone to take loan in investment in bitcoin because it is totally wrong. You can't afford to put in something you can lose within few hours. Probably you were not here in the past when the crypto blood birth started. When people lose money, it causes a lot of depression and even death. Most investment firm that give loan sometime require collateral before you are given irrespective if the interest is low. If you can't pay back, you might lose your asset and also put your guarantor in danger of also having to payback the loan they didn't take
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO, IEO! Which one do you want to return again? on: December 18, 2020, 12:14:20 PM
Both have their own limitations but from experience, IEO is much more better. It is very hard this day to even know people that are behind  a project talk less of known maybe it will be a scam project. In the past, most project list team that you can easily trace their history on the internet but now most of them  either make use of stock images, emoticon or do not even list team members. When project get listed on great platforms like Binance launchpad it is very unlikely the project will be a scam. This is because such platforms have a rigorous process that eliminate the chance of listing project with scam team. You cannot guaranty what will happen to an ICO especially those that make use of team that don't have traceable background
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so many projects still making tokens with such large supply? on: December 18, 2020, 12:07:56 PM
It is the demand that determine the price. No matter how small the total supply is, if there are no demand for the token, it will worth less. ETGF token is an example. Depending on the usage of the token, the total supply can be high all low. Most project that create token that are govern by prof of stake usually have high supply. In the real sense, when token total supply is very high, it is very unlikely that much demand have great reflection on the price. For instance it is very uncommon to see a project with 1B token reaching $1 per token. I have heard someone mentioning chainlink in a group but not many token have this price
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To be Fair I think bitcoin will go highest highs and then will collapse on: December 18, 2020, 11:16:43 AM
Fees are getting high and the network is getting sluggish. It is becoming insane to pay over $10 for transferring $30 which is the reason why I believe collapse is imminent. However, just like in the past, it is more likely traders move on to some other random altcoin and pump them up as usual. If we witness a sudden fall in the price of the bitcoin today, I am very sure the ATH has been set for 2020. Nobody could predict btc will reach above 20k in the year 2020 despite the pandemic and growing news about crypto regulations that spring around the countries. The current trend might also result in repeated pattern in term of sudden fall that happened in the past
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The dangers of buying bitcoin thru Paypal - real life example on: December 17, 2020, 07:03:44 AM
If they wont allow it why do they authenticate those transaction. If there is a limit to the numbers of transaction someone can perform in 24 hours, they should have put that. Even in many centralized exchange including binance, there is a limit to amount of withdrawal transaction you can do in a day. If you want to increase that, you will need to complete the KYC procedure. I believe maybe because they just start to allow this transaction, with time they will take care of such a thing. I can people writing about not your key not you coin, DEX also have their own limitation. He could not have made those transaction on DEX due to low liquidity. If you want to huge transaction, it is better to make use of centralized platform which he has used except for this limitation.
195  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will the US ban self-hosted wallets? on: December 14, 2020, 07:55:51 PM
Today it was declared that states have this right and not federal which means USA can't ban self-hosted wallets even if they wanted to. Which means you could live in a state that decides to do this, but it will be state by state basis. Plus, if we know USA well enough that means there will be few states that will do it and many that will not go for it on the basis of either not caring about it at all and not doing it because of it, or maybe supporting like states such as Ohio and California.

So long story short, we do not have any USA ban in our hands at all, there is no reason to assume anything bad.

If a state like Kentucky or something bans it, people will react to it and get scared but remember, it will be state by state basis and only a few will probably do it.
If some state will ban while some we not, I am just wondering how this is going to be effective. This is an internet thing it might be difficult to achieve this and by the way they have taken away the basic reason why many users are making use of bitcoin. You cannot have your KYC document taken by platforms that you cant be sure will not suffer data bridge in the future thereby putting you identity at risk of being sold in the dark web. If this is an Hoax, it is better not true because I believe this wont be a good news at all for crypto users especially in the United state where there are many users of the crypto
196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adult companies and bitcoin? on: December 14, 2020, 06:10:47 PM
Can it bring a bull run? not likely. I suppose you understand that porn industry is a big sector globally but not so big that suppose integration will cause bull run except all of them accept bitcoin at a specific time which I do not think will happen. Porn site using crypto has been things that is expected because of full anonymity that some crypto such as monero offers. Pornhub accepting this might just be coincidence with when VISA has stopped users for using their card on the platform. International bodies has been advocating for ban by credit card usage on porn site for a while now https://www.bbc.com/news/world-52543508 so I believe this will not be only applicable to pornhub alone but all other pornsite so it is more likely they all switch to other payment options such as the crypto
197  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: I Created an App that Helps You Practice Trading - TradingGYM on: December 14, 2020, 02:19:23 PM
I would like to see this app integrating live trading and not only historical data. Although it might help newbie that is just start to learn trading but experiencing this in live trading will be the best. I do make used of the demo trading of hitbtc in the past https://demo.hitbtc.com/ and it was really helpful. I am not sure if there is any demo trading application that are available in mobile and desktop. Most of the one I know are web based. So if you can integrate this and make it available for mobile and desktop, it would have been the best. Dont forget you can also make money from your work by integrating in built ads services
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early signs of crime with bitcoin. on: December 14, 2020, 11:08:18 AM
I do not see the use of crypto for crime as the basis of rejection. everyday people commit crime and used fiat currencies. Just few days ago, Saudi Arabia prosecute business owners for money laundering https://www.arabnews.com/node/1776676/saudi-arabia, should we because of that ban the use of fiat currency? maybe because of the portability and flexibility that bitcoin offers, they think it is easy to use bitcoin for crime but there has not been any holistic view that bitcoin are mostly used for crime than the fiat currency. Do you even know how difficult it can be to sell large amount of crypto for fiat?. Most time you end up using CEX which might require you to present document for KYC and at the long run, your identity is no more anonymous and you can be caught
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Wallet Regulations: A damn good time to be paranoid on: December 14, 2020, 10:58:49 AM
I don't understand why people are still putting Bitcoins into their exchange wallets. Custodial wallets are not safer than those which gives you complete control of the private keys and is definitely not the main point of Bitcoin; giving control of your funds to someone else.

Bitcoin did crash in the period of Nov 26 so that could potentially explain for certain decrease in the Bitcoins held by the exchanges as more people sell off their holdings and those long term prospective buyers moving it offsite.

Custodial wallets are already intrusive enough, they have unreasonable expectations to have taint-less coins as well as the present KYC/AML restrictions. The only way around it is to try to use P2P OTC exchanges or other wallets. I'll expect harsher regulations but they'll most likely affect US exchanges only.
Most people that do that are people are easily want to use bitcoin and do not know much about custodian and non custodian wallet. till date, large numbers of people still prefer using this wallet than other DEX wallet. By the way exchange such as coinbase make it possible to buy with credit card and also withdraw to some local accounts. Most DEX wallet do not have this functions. This is just gonna make coinbase and others lose more users and probably reduce the rate at which sign up for the new account. Maybe they may be considering the fact that they do not want scammers and criminal to go unpunished but the privacy features that are most explore by crypto users has been defeated. We are also in an era where identity documents are being sold in the darkweb. users documents are not safe anymore
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pornhub now accepting Monero on: December 13, 2020, 05:51:01 PM
Why would monero become most used when there are other crypto especially the bitcoin. I know the reason why you said that was because of the full anonymity that monero offer but I strongly believe only people that knows the difference in anonymity with other crypto that might consider it. Most people that will make payment using crypto will use bitcoin or ethereum. The use of crypto in porn site I must say is over due. They must have added this a long time ago especially such site that have visitors from around the world. For instance we are being restricted in my country for making international payment using debit card. So accepting crypto will make me possible to access such service
