1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🚀 [Pre-ANN] AZULIK: adding privacy to DAG fee-less instant transactions 🌟🚀 on: January 14, 2018, 09:33:27 PM
Seems promising, although I think you should think of a better name of your project, I don't know if it's just me, but AZULIK doesn't sound cool. Your project strong points is that it tries to be a currency that is fast and anonymous, so you should probably think of a name that describe this aspect of your project.

I think airdrops are not good for fair distributions because most people who will get these airdrops are not interested in the project but rather just looking for a way to sell it.

Raiblock's distribution was great because people who believed in Raiblock had to waste a lot of time to accumulate XRB, these people we will the hodlers that actually believe in the project and thus support the price.

My suggest is that you start the distribution as early as you can, even before releasing AZULIK these way you'll give a lot of people the chance to participate.

You should combine multiple systems of Captcha, for example, using pictures, typing words, solving math problems, use a combination of these Captcha to make it impossible for anyone to develop a bot that solve Captcha.

I hope your project succeed, and I will be watching this topic for any new announcement.

2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum new vulnerability, are all versions affected? on: January 08, 2018, 02:59:31 AM
I've read somewhere that not all versions of Electrum are affected, I've read that all versions before 2.6 are not affected, can anyone confirm this to be true?
3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin(first cryptocurrency to exist) be THE one? on: January 04, 2018, 02:05:24 PM
Bitcoin is already the digital gold, the only problem right now is that it is a slow. With the current technology we have, you can't build a digital gold that is decentralized and fast, you just can't. That's way we will have second layer protocols like the Lightning Network and Sidechains.

No other cryptocurrency can replace Bitcoin as the digital gold. Let's say there is a new cryptocurrency that is superior to Bitcoin called Xcoin, if Xcoin became so popular that it replaces Bitcoin as the digital gold, then there is no reason that Ycoin or Zcoin with better tech to replace Xcoin as the digital gold in the future. What I'm trying to say is that the fact that another coin replaces Bitcoin as the digital gold will break all the concept of digital gold (the one), that's why it's either Bitcoin or none.

4  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can Lightning network work decentralized ? on: January 04, 2018, 01:45:28 PM
No one knows how the LN graph will look like until it's widely used. Most people will use LN for micro-payments, this means that people with low amount of BTC will still get used, so you won't need to open a channel with a big hub for you to pay your $3 coffee, because most people will have an open channel with an amount greater than $3.

Even in the worst case scenario where we have centralized hubs, it's a different centralization compared to say Ripple, where for example they can blacklist you and you can't send any XRP in the whole Ripple network, so you effectively have lost your XRP. In the case of a centralized LN network, you can just open a channel with a person that is already connected to a big hub and send all your transactions through that person if the hub refuses to accept your payment, and for small payment, I guess you won't even need a hub, just route your transaction through normal users.

centralization and decentralization can't be measured in absolute terms, all that a centralized network of hubs can do is refuse to route your payment, whereas in other centralized networks like Ripple or Paypal, they can actually freeze your funds.

Even if we have big hubs that most people use, can you really call it a centralized network when you still have the option to choose a route that doesn't involve these big hubs?

Do they actually claim that they have a partnership with Google?
6  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Arbitrad.com | BTC Auto arbitrage trading! on: September 04, 2017, 11:59:09 PM
This is just like a ponzi scheme, but in the case of this scam, they are trying to convince us that they are getting the profits through doing arbitrage between cryptocurrencies. I don't get how people still fall for these kind of scams.

Just like a ponzi scheme, if you are able to withdraw your money, it doesn't change the fact that after a while the site will close and you'll be holding the bag (not even the bag in this case).
