Hello All,
here a comment from Cryptsy to the Starcoin removal issue 09/25/13:
Question:
BitJohn,
do you know what issues that are specific? as i say i am curious cause i don't see any problems after 1.5 update thus far. should i stop mining?
Answer:
I know they never fixed the main issue with the coin just updated checkpoints. It keeps getting frozen due to forking reversals. IT is based on the same code as the original CAPs code so without adding all the fixes CAP's did I don't think it will ever be correct.
BitJohn
BitJohn, I see all the self-forking fixes from CAP are in Starcoin's latest 1.5 code. It was committed in github and released as version 1.5 10 days ago. https://github.com/starcoinproject/starcoin/commit/a0ccb99023d326d79a928af940b58c4ce0800e8aCan you be specific what fix is not in? Also the dev of the STR seems unaware of any issues. Cryptsy disabled the trading without communicating to the dev for issues, is it an oversight?

I don't get what is the problem either. I emailed cryptsy support, this is what I get back from BitJohn: Starcoin was suspended until the coin is fixed. Constant reversals and numerous forks. The dev does not seem to know the problem. Cryptsy suspended the starcoin, without contacting dev for reasons or problems, how would they expect the issue be fixed if any? Moreover the community people tested here and found no problem at all. Dev also re-iterated the link for the "standard" blockchain explorer. So anyone can check his blockchain against the "standard" one in starcoin.info to see if his is a good one or not. Cryptsy please check against http://starcoin.info/blockviewer/ also, and make sure you are on the right blockchain, and please restore the trading if no more issues found. Starcoin is a great coin with active dev support. Recently the dev fixed the auto-forking issue using the standard CAP-method. My own mining shows that it is very smooth and I don't see any issues there.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC | V1.7 Released! *Mandatory Upgrade, upgrade ASAP*
|

READ THIS AND GET BACK TO ME. It says it all about this infinitecoin b.s. If you are not going to keep it up, take care of it, and nurture it and help it grow by having the CORRECT information, so we can all be on the same page, then by god get rid of it. http://infinitecointalk.org/index.php/topic,72.msg568.html#msg568version 1.6 or version 1.7 does not exist. I tried to download it, too. I get the same results as above. The download page SAYS it is version 1.6 (which should be 1.7, as noted above in the link) and it downloads, unzips into version 1.5. did I miss something here? I used all of the info on page 1 of this post. The link to Mega(whatever).nz is dead and does not work, period. The skydive link just tells me to upgrade my browser. (well, make yours backwards compatible, that is usually the norm). The google link finally downloaded something, I have no idea what. I had to use (yecchhh Initernet explorer to get it, too). the link doesn't like my firefox. However, the point still stands, the links from infinitecoin.org are all bad, period. THESE are the ones that go to version 1.6, whic his 1.5, and is supposed ot be 1.7. All the links in OP work fine for me. Which link you used did not give you the right files? You should get Infinitecoin17.zip, in which there's a folder Infinitecoin that contains all files. You should use the OP links in this thread. Other links for downloads may be outdated. And after you download, open the qt client, At help->About Infinitecoin window, you should see v1.7.0.0.

Are you serious?
How many times do you need to be told checkpoints wont fix this?
Im hoping the github just isnt updated
before you post, did you check the code changes in github? If not, do it again! Woops ya the lack of commit description fooled me. Carry on Update checkpoints.cpp seemed like just another checkpoint lol, I guess they copied all the self-forking fix from CAPS.
