Here's the real question:

Why do you want to be on default trust?  or... why do you care so much?

If you're on default trust your trust actually counts.  If not, my ratings don't really mean much to others.  It would be nice if there was a system in which if you have had 5 or more successful trades you could get on the list.

smeagol you need to upgrade your hosting the site's down Sad
Would I be eligible for a share or half of a share to pay for upgraded hosting or a VPS?  The ticker has been getting the CPU limit error a lot lately and hosting is expensive.   Sad

Thanks

There is 2/5 of a share ongoing for the maintenance of Gweedo's ticker and Metazilla's ticker, so you'll get that. The 18 shares is way more than enough to pay for start up. Whoever does this first will get the 18 shares, it's up to the developer to handle hosting.

Ok.  What are the URLs to Gweedo's and Metazilla's tickers?
583  Other / Meta / Re: SPAM on this website,,,from honeypot captured IPs and StopForumSpam for SMC on: December 19, 2013, 02:43:47 AM
I am NOT spamming,,,

Just that I noticed that this site uses the same SMF.
Curiosity more than anything I guess.

What's up with the triple commas?
584  Other / Meta / Re: Default Trust, how to get on? on: December 19, 2013, 02:40:13 AM
The first rule of Default Trust is to not talk about Default Trust.

The second rule of Default Trust is to not talk about Default Trust!

  Grin

Anyway I think the answer is to give people honest and fair feedback ratings, but that is just a guess.

Lol  Cheesy

I've read about default trust having a depth of 2 or so, meaning that if you add me to your trust list then I will be "on" default trust.  But is there another way?
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vanity Address for Altcoins, How are vanity addresses secure? on: December 19, 2013, 02:29:05 AM
So all I would need to do is look in a coin's source, and replace it with the coin's values?

e.g. https://github.com/Smeagol-Gollum/securecoin-vanitygen/blob/master/vanitygen.c#L388

I could change

Code:
                 case 'N':
                        addrtype = 52;
                        privtype = 180;
                        scriptaddrtype = -1;
                        break;

to
Code:
                case 'L': //LottoCoin
                        addrtype = 49;
                        privtype = 180;
                        scriptaddrtype = -1;
                        break;

Where would I find privtype and scriptaddrtype?
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vanity Address for Altcoins, How are vanity addresses secure? on: December 18, 2013, 10:44:31 PM
Use Google to find modified vanity generators for altcoins. You'll find them. And if you don't, you'll find out you only have to change the value of two variables on the source code to adapt the address generated to any coin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=293700.0

You are perfectly secure selling addresses. But it wouldn't be secure to buy them. Do people actually sell addresses? I didn't know.

Also - what are the variables I need to change?

I see people selling vanity addresses.  Also, there are vanity pools

Is it possible to make vanity addresses for altcoins?  If so, how?

Also, when people sell addresses, how is it secure?  Wouldn't they know the private key?

I was exactly in the same situation, using osx. Huh
You genesis block is missing.

I put in the merkel hash, gb nonce, and gb hash though

Looking for a precompiled OSX build as well

594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Dvcticker on: December 18, 2013, 02:16:44 AM
dvcticker.bugs3.com is capable of saving data over 3 months (I schedule a 15-minutely cron job)

I believe it qualifies for the 18-share DVC-USD chart.

http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty_now#devcoin_usd_chart

Where is the chart?

Oops, I misread.  It is capable but does not have a chart yet.

Will add soon

597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Genesis Block Help on: December 17, 2013, 10:51:13 PM
I've been using a fork of shakzula's ABCCoin to create an altcoin, for fun.  I've gotten the first build, compiled with the lines to create a gb recommented in and the gb and merkel implemented, but when I run the recompiled binary it says "Error Loading Block Database".

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

You could make a lot of money by keeping the ASICs for a couple of months before releasing them...  Smiley
