881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum coins - Too late? on: November 02, 2017, 06:59:00 PM
I think exactly this coin will be able to throw bitcoin from the throne, but you need to wait a bit with those segwit, hardfork and all these events.

Well I participated in the ICO but to say it will become bigger than bitcoin, nah.. no way. I see it as a top5 coin though depending on how well they can reach people with their products and services.
882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electroneum now valued at 11 cents?? on: November 02, 2017, 06:56:00 PM
Its a chaos though, people go nuts on Telegram. Find it a bit weird myself that miners were given early access to exchanges prior to contributors, its only been a few days I really don't think miners pay electricity bills every day..

So this ICO is not happening anymore? Or?
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet questions on: November 02, 2017, 12:59:55 PM
For BCH use Bitcoin ABC. This is a cold wallet. It is compatible with Bitcoin Core "wallet.dat" files

I don't use Bitcoin Core, I use electrum. ANd I have Nano S ledger as cold wallet so I'm quite reluctant to purchase another cold wallet. But thanks! Any other suggestions?
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Wallet questions on: November 02, 2017, 11:32:35 AM
Hello,

I understand the whole BTG craze is over and B2X is next on the program so I wonder if there is a wallet that supports BTG so I can claim them?
Also can someone recommend me a BCH wallet? Can my ledger Nano S support both Bitcoin and BitcoinCash? ??

Much appreciated.

889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How Datum (DAT) will change the world for the better. on: November 01, 2017, 05:14:48 PM
I read the whitepaper of Datum and may I say its absolute trash. It is speculative, no working prototype, the business model is pure garbage and above all it hasn't even been thought over properly there are many problems concerning this project and they forget the most important things, such as if businesses can actually purchase data in bulk and how this relates to individuals set terms & conditions. Funny thing is the team seems to be experienced but still its presentation and idea are absolutely horrible. If you can't purchase data in bulk whilst respecting each individuals unique terms & conditions then there's absolutely 0 reason any company would want to use this, the amount of time that would go into acquisition is a waste.

They have actually written in their whitepaper that Datum COULD become the norm for data processing IF users demand is high enough, well this promise or forecast isn't supported by any facts, legal conditions or anything like that and is purely speculative. When we talk about facebook, twitter and other places that process large amounts of data the core users are teenagers and honestly they don't give a damn about their privacy nor their data. Company's will follow wherever those teens go as they are the core business, its how these platforms became big because of teenagers and they have money to burn on products like clothing, shoes and other stuff.

Just for the fact that the whitepaper forgets to address critical issues and clearly has been thought over very poorly is a no. The fact that there probably isn't any demand among the core users of social platforms makes it another big no. Also there is no section that addresses legal aspects or issues or how ''user demand will make datum the main data processor'' essentially giving them a monopoly on datum which is not only against free market laws but also plain and simple will never happen.

I really would not recommend this ICO to anyone, you might aswell just flush your money down a toilet, this is not a viable long term business model.

P.S. the min/max caps are fucking ridiculous.

890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES SPECULATION on: November 01, 2017, 04:51:13 PM
It is pretty cool but Waves needs some solid ICOs to make it, Waves suffered from a lot of crappy ICOs. Also their DEX could be heavily improved upon.
But nonetheless its a coin that you should pick up on the dips as they often don't last very long and there's a clear trend in Waves rises and falls so its also easy trading.
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach's November Pick ??? on: November 01, 2017, 04:47:13 PM
when is the november pick of PBC to be expected?

There will be a coin released tomorrow to nonsubscribers during a recruitment/promotional video. Many think this will be a coin that had previously been recommended to his subscribers.

There will still be a new project recommendation the third Thursday of this month to his subscribers.
Do you know what time and which time-zone? Bought some GNT and SLR  Cheesy Hope at least one will be in the list

Yeah thats just dumb really, if you go to the website of SLR their business model is clearly described, to just pick random coins cause you have FOMO is very very dumb.
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach's November Pick ??? on: November 01, 2017, 04:46:14 PM
Solarcoin's business model isn't suited for long term investment nor short term investment (less you know a pump&dump) the idea of solarcoin is that solar power generators can submit information to this company and get solarcoins for it which they can then dump on the open market. The whole purpose of this coin is to dump it so I doubt it would be recommended as an investment opportunity.

893  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Want to start a project but I need some advice on: November 01, 2017, 03:51:04 PM
The information you provided of your website that you're planning on making is too broad. "a new concept related to investing in crypto also the site will be a great tool to learn a lot about crypto and cool projects". That barely gave me an idea on what your plan is. Maybe be more specific? Besides the faucet, what is it mainly going to use for?

The main use for it would be to help people understand crypto, to offer free services to them in the form of information so that people can use it as a tool.

Don't we have too much of that already?

A Beginner's Guide to Blockchain Technology: https://www.coindesk.com/information/
What is Cryptocurrency?: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/cryptocurrency/

And alot more other websites. Or do you have something else in mind?

Yeah I do have something else in mind but I don't want to reveal to much, I'm basically just looking for some advice on how to get something going and started.
I know there are already a lot of sites doing somewhat similar things thats why I have included diversification into my ''whitepaper'' (can't really call it a whitepaper yet).
The diversification is what will lead to trafic in my opinion, its not your ordinary regular site that rechews the same information over and over I will focus on different things.
I'm very interested to atleast try it and see where I'm going. I'm thinking about taking on a small loan but I'm really not fond of debt but its becoming apparant as the only option, I've reached out to some developers with the question if they would settle for a revenue cut but there is not much demand for this, I think the envoirment is overloaded with opportunity and there's some heavy competition, so for anyone to settle with a revenue deal instead of taking the high payed hourly or commission road isn't really something people are up for.

But I have researched into it and I think the idea is diversified enough to really become something unique instead of the next copycat. I think it will also be a great and effective tool for newcomers.

895  Bitcoin / Project Development / Want to start a project but I need some advice on: November 01, 2017, 02:12:30 PM
Hello,

I want to start a website project that I think could see some real success and be a popular tool for especially newbies and anyone who wants to learn more about crypto.
I'm not entirely sure how to go about this though. I have 0 website development skills and though I have a pretty good vision of what I want realised its a bit frustrating that I feel as if I can't really do anything with it.

The site will be a great tool to learn a lot about crypto and cool projects without having to surf coinmarketcap or Bitcointalk ANN's
It will also include a faucet.

Can someone point me in a direction on what steps to take next? I have written down a problem-solve strategy, done research into other projects that are somewhat similar and how they create revenue, I got a name and a clear vision of where I want to take the venture. But I have no idea how to get started, the start is always the hardest I find. So I want to tackle this obstacle quickly else I will bore myself with repeadetly going back and forth and eventually abandon the idea completely.

Some hinderances:

- Limited capital
- No web development experience or faucet experience
- No idea how to get started...

Some Pro's:

- Entrepreneurial Spirit
- Clear Vision, idea and what I want it to look like and become
- Motivated
- Analytic and problem solving mind.

Any advice or help is welcome.

I honestly think Waves is better than Ethereum and I would love to see massive gains but I've become more conservative on Waves. I'd like to see what happens with http://tokenomica.com/ in place, cause this could leverage the market into favor for Waves.. this is probably the only coin I seriously hodl besides BTC. All the coins come and go but Waves has a special place in my wallet.
898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin - becoming an elite currency? on: November 01, 2017, 12:21:36 PM
So I read this article from Palm Beach Confidential where they are saying that the IMF is thinking about adding Bitcoin to their basket of Elite Currencies.

Quote
The IMF has nearly $300 billion in SDRs. That’s money that member states can use to supplement their official reserves. If bitcoin were added to the SDR, that’s potentially billions of dollars of new demand that could pour into cryptocurrencies.

So not only will we see institutional investors buying bitcoin… but national governments adding bitcoin-denominated assets to their reserves, too.

Quote
By my back-of-the-napkin calculations, if the IMF adds bitcoin to its basket of elite currencies… we could see bitcoin attract $200–$300 billion over the years.

That’s two to three times more than its current market cap.

Sounds like some pretty amazing news and if this comes true we might see this 1 million dollar Bitcoin happen within a span of 5-10 years from now.
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / NEM- the coin you don't understand on: October 31, 2017, 09:41:22 PM
What do you guys think about NEM/XEM? It seems they actually have really worked on their product. It offers enterprise solutions ranging from basically anthing you can imagine.
Your own paypal, liquidity issues, escrow, making your own currency, making your own blockchain, provide low cost solutions to equity markets and banking.

Summing up all its possibillities it seems to be the one that could actually put a lot of projects on CMC out of work. But still not much attention is given to it, probably because of the huge supply but anyone smart looks at the marketcap and not the supply. Marketcap wise for what its capable of it might still actually be undervalued.

Comparing Ethereum to NEM I find Ethereum a shithole.
