No need to join just start mining at any time with your AMC wallet address :

Reminder this coin has 0 block reward until block 14,000 so if you connected to my pool and didn't get rewards that is why.  It is set up to start rewarding at 14,000+.

If you start mining now you'll get established in the PPLNS so you should get good rewards when 14,000 is reached

Looks like my pool has a much better connection to the American Coin network than most of the solo miners.  We've only got like 10% of the hashing power but seem to be getting finding disproportionately many blocks

Any insight into why block numbers would display inaccurately?

I just set up a pool for AmericanCoin and I think I got all the settings correct but block numbers being shown for recent blocks are not accurate

Experimental P2pool is up and running w/ 3% fee.  Reminder rewards are 0 until we hit block 14000.  Block numbers displayed on web page are not accurate and the block chain links don't work yet:

Note this is a dedicated server with a backbone connection.  Presently has 63 connections to the AmericanCoin network

Looking at the source for this it appears that they have a block reward of 0 between blocks 6500 and 14000

True but I consider that trivial - anyone smart enough to forward a port on their router is going to know how to run the getpeerinfo command (or check the source...)
