861  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: August 29, 2023, 10:31:45 AM
Elon doesn't need the Twitter app, so he threw out the old management. He only needs its users... Remember how he negotiated the price when he discovered so many bots on Twitter? Twitter's value is significantly affected by how many active users are on the platform, not by how much money it makes. Now, suddenly "X" has the same amount of Twitter users. Shortly, he'll make another feature for X, not just for social media. He mentioned a "super-app" IIRC, probably like WeChat.

Elon Musk is an attention-begging, gigantic egotistical narcissist who pretends to be furthering technology even though he has not invented or achieved anything worthwhile. He is basically a version of Steve Jobs, who, while being very talented when it comes to hyping people up and taking their money, has not been able to hold on to a single one of his promises. His rockets fail, his mars mission will never come to pass, his cars are fancy-looking junk that people only buy so they can brag about buying them. And now he aquired Twitter and has no idea what to do with it. All he wanted from Twitter was the attention of the users.
862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HOW DO WE TRANSFER BITCOIN WEALTH TO HEIRS AND THE NEXT GENERATION on: August 28, 2023, 07:07:48 PM
This thought have been bothering me for a while and I feel we can discuss it here. Many people that are building their Bitcoin portfolio are doing it to also save for the coming generation. However, how this wealth will be transferred to the heirs and the next generation and how this wealth will be preserved without being lost or causing problems still remain unclear.

I understand for other tangible assets, a WILL can be written to be revealed when the time is right. But for Bitcoin, I don't know how this can be done as it may require revealing the secrete codes of the wallets or storage device. Is there any other way this can be done?

My thought was captured in my comment in this thread but I felt to raise a topic for most discussion. In case this topic have been discussed, I will be glad to be pointed to the thread.

I think that the idea of Bitcoin is that over time, more and more BTC gets lost, forever unable to be claimed. In a sort of way this is a deflation mechanism which boost the value of the other Bitcoin in circulation due to the fact that the Bitcoin supply decreases more and more over time. So everyone else's coins go up in value and this is a good thing. I personally hate the idea of heritage. It has caused a lot of problems in the fiat world and we can see this with all the disgusting billionaire hoarders. Why the hell should anyone get money that they never earned? Do we need more Rockefellers? More ultra-rich, corrupting the world, financing both sides of each war? Screw that. A person should get what they earn in their lifetime, no more and no less.
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: August 28, 2023, 05:06:49 PM
This board has a lot of topic that comprises with the negativity about gambling addiction. Let’s change it for now to support the casino we are promoting here.

Gambling is important to the society because it provides huge taxes that government use on hospitals, infrastructure and other projects to help its citizens. Monacco country is popular with their casino but they don't allow its citizen to play. This shows how important gambling in their country because they still allowed to operate it even though they don't want citizens to be involved.

In our country, Our lottery use the proceeds to donate on the health center that provides free health service to our citizens.

Even if gambling commonly view as negative by commoner. Many didn't notice how big is the contribution of gambling to the society.

What is the benefits of gambling to your society?

I think the biggest benefit of gambling to society is learning a hard lesson on the value of money and how to better assess and weigh risk/profit situations.

And, I may be completely wrong here, and this might be a total misunderstanding of how trickle-down economics work, but does gambling not provide a huge boost for the economy? A lot of money goes into casinos and all those casinos have gigantic spending budgets which they use for various costs, advertising, hiring, services and so on. Of course assuming that most of the profits do not go straight into the pockets of the casino owners. But even something like that could be circumvented with a kind of DAO casino where use of profits are voted for. Perhaps future casinos will be powerful economic powers?
864  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 28, 2023, 04:23:12 PM
Nutildah's stance is to stop those members from getting merits in this thread who aren't putting much effort in creating good posts

Fun fact, nutildah gave me my very first merit ever, which ultimately brought me to the WO. #such.joy

Disable merits,
nutildah claimed with deceit,
oh the irony.

#late.haiku

Merit cycling guy mad other people are getting merits. Oh the horror! Soon people will have merits that made comments about the price of Bitcoin instead of circle jerking other merit sources. What ever will the community do? How will we recover? The damage those merits will do will outlast Bitcoin itself! Take cover!

While I am not against anyone making money with signature campaigns (there seem to be enough campaigns to go around for everyone), do you not see that merits serve as nothing but spam fuel nowadays? And many campaign managers seem to either not care as long as they get paid or they are not able to do anything against it. Perhaps you actually enjoy scrolling through a sea of stolen Twitter memes and automated, generic AI-prewritten garbage? I am developing a short-attention-span from all the merit parasites and their empty white noise posts.

The fact that the most annoying, spammy, most-often-blocked characters seem to agree with your thinking should tell you something.
865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Still not a safe practice even if it works on: August 28, 2023, 11:52:04 AM
I have seen a few pieces of content online that are saying Stake, Fortune Jack, Casino Gap and few others are VPN-friendly.

Are users on here agreeing on these few mentioned online casino? I am asking this because I believe those who still use VPN on these casinos are not safe.

Because using a VPN is not openly acceptable by these online casinos, there is no where it's written on their website, I know readers might feel like, why would they wrote such on their website when the law isn't permitting such?

Well, what will stop them from using this against you too as a gambler? Bypassing restrictions is not the problem, but it was never allowed officially, meaning you should accept whatever will be thrown in your face.

What do you think?

I think as long as KYC is completed and both parties agree that the user will use a VPN, it should be allowed, but as a rule of thumb, VPNs are very suspicious, especially if the user has not completed the KYC process. Should the user be gambling from a country which is not allowed by the terms and conditions of the mentioned casino, then obviously the casino owners would get into legal trouble for letting him play and withdraw on their platform. They have government regulations that they have to follow, after all. So when they see someone logging in with a different IP each time, it raises an eyebrow. Furthermore, it could trigger a false positive should the VPN IP come from a restricted country. Its a lot of confusion and trouble which can be avoided.
866  Economy / Gambling / Re: Unethical Practices: Involvement of Bots and Fake Accounts for contest/race on: August 28, 2023, 11:29:21 AM
Note: These allegations remain unverified at this time, pending further investigation.
Don't you realize that you just sound stupid here?

If you have no proof or evidence about the said unethical practices, then shut the hell up and don't waste our time. I didn't know people can be this cocky.

This might just be some immature kid who is not worth paying attention to. That's the problem with the internet, you never know who you are talking to. Making such allegations can be quite harmful to a business and since they are unproven, OP can get into some really hot water for his/her words. Some people only learn when they get served a court date for slandering the reputation of a legitimate business for no reason.

So again, the topic was made by either some immature child or a disgruntled sore loser who felt the need to smear the reputation of the casino because they could not handle gambling. I doubt we will hear from him again, seeing as its a random newbie.
867  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable merits in the Wall Observer thread on: August 27, 2023, 10:48:52 AM
Merit farming in the WO thread has gotten way out of hand.

Its been a problem for years now but really ramped up this year. Although I can't prove it, I strongly suspect we're now seeing merit farmers creating alt accounts which they use to send merits back to their main accounts, with the end goal being to enroll as many alts in signature campaigns as they can.

The typical merit farmer post is a copy/pasted tweet from a large bitcoin-focused Twitter account, complete with picture and (often in smaller text) the word "source" with a link to the tweet. These accounts are literally just taking popular tweets and pasting them in WO for no other reason than to get merits. You'll see them on just about every single page of the thread this year.

This type of post is bad for a few reasons:

 - It is a distraction that dilutes honest conversation between good faith participants.
 - It is lazy, dishonest, and often wholly unnecessary.
 - It lends to promotion of a culture of cheating.

The meriting of these posts is creating a positive feedback system where merit farmers are encouraged to continue this behavior... as a result the only skill they're actually developing is how to extract merits from senior WO posters.

The simple solution to the problem is to disable the meriting of WO posts. Much like how signatures were disabled in that thread, it will discourage spammers from flooding the thread.

While WO seems to be the place where most crap posts get merited for no reason, there are other similar places like that on the other sub-forums. As I see it, the most merit farming trolls are newbie accounts who copy/paste twitter garbage, generic memes or random crypto-related images. Perhaps if we disable posting in certain places for low level accounts then most of the problem sorts itself out? That way they would have to gather earnestly earned merit from newbie permitted areas first. And having them all in one place, we could more easily filter out the merit farmer newbies from the helpful, merit-deserving newbies. Basically we make it harder for the merit-farmers to get out of newbie jail without actually being useful to the community.

Furthermore,

I think that disabling merits in WO is unfair to those who have a large number in merits in WO and are not merit farming. Around 30-38% of my posts are in WO and while I admit to shitposting every now and then, I feel that I have earned most of my merits in WO rightfully, with somewhat decent informative or conversation-productive posts.

veteran accounts and merit sources need to hand out merit more responsibly. The only reason we see such WO merit farming is because merit farmers get rewarded for their crap posts. And there is too much merit going around, it feels like we are in a merit inflation.
868  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 26, 2023, 08:25:42 PM
Just checked the chart annnd.... The Bitcoin price is not 100k yet. What gives? I can only assume every single price chart is faulty. It is the only logical explanation.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you like to see on betting platforms? on: August 25, 2023, 09:38:50 PM
An alternative to KYC. That's what I would like to see. I understand the importance of the KYC procedure but I still do not feel safe handing anyone, especially hackable, centralised platforms my government issued documents which could be used for shady purposes or worse, identity theft.

Perhaps some form of special ID or a NFT ID could be used? A third party would do the KYC once and issue an NFT ID which is acceptable in all betting websites?
870  Economy / Gambling / Re: Thought's on many major fiat-crypto payment gateways ditching casino business's? on: August 25, 2023, 02:42:08 PM
Hey guys, so I've been doing some digging into fiat-crypto casino payment gateways specifically. Right now Stake.com and Bc.game use Moonpay for their "buy crypto" function, however after contacting Moonpay, Transak and a few other major fiat-crypto payment gateways I've learned that these providers no longer accept new casino business.

In the case of Moonpay they are upholding their existing agreements with casino providers (for now I guess) but new operators are only being accepted with casino licenses in the UK and USA (both of which require their own unique gaming licenses) as well as a reputable international license (e.g. curacao, malta, antigua etc.).

Transak on the other hand are just straight up removing themselves from the gambling industry altogether.

I think it's a real shame that new providers won't have access to reputable fiat to crypto on-ramps, it creates an uneven playing field as the big guys get treated differently.

I think it's a huge regulatory (and therefore very expensive) issue, therefore it's easier for them to stop offering crypto-purchasing services. Most people know how to buy cryptocurrency on a crypto exchange, such as Binance,  and then send the coins to their casino wallet. So it's a matter of casinos offering a small convenience for customers. Maybe they can no longer outsource the responsibilities which come along with offering such a "customer service"?
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can everyone in the world have bitcoin. on: August 25, 2023, 12:06:04 PM
As far as I understand it, there is no way to divide a Satoshi into multiple parts, therefore if the human population was a greater number than all the satoshis in the world, then it would not be possible for everyone in the world to own Bitcoin. But that's unrealistic if you think about how many satoshis there are. More realistic would be to say that not everyone in the world can own 1 BTC or more, since there are only 21 million that can exist. This is a good thing since the value of Bitcoin will keep going up and will never be subjected to inflation.
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much it cost to most ALL internet with your casino advertisement? $6.2m/d on: August 25, 2023, 11:56:37 AM
How much would it cost to most ALL internet with your casino advertisement? I mean just for one day?!

It is common to think that there is quite not much places to advertise your casino nowadays, right? Me and my team have found all accesible places to post your advertisement, and it is:

  • 3718 Gambling/iGaming Telegram Channels;
  • 1007 Gambling/iGaming Discord Servers;
  • 98 Gambling/iGaming Forums;
  • 329 Gaming & iGaming Marketing Agencies;
  • 819 Gambling/iGaming Media Outlets;
  • 1315 Gambling/iGaming Rating Websites;
  • 2461 Gambling/iGaming Instagram Accounts;
  • 1666 iGaming-related Facebook Accounts (1097 groups, 569 personal accounts);
  • 126 Gambling/iGaming Reddit Communities (with optimal posting times);
  • 2718 Gambling/iGaming YouTube Channels (with contact details);
  • 2505 Gambling/iGaming Twitch Channels;
  • 977 Gambling/iGaming TikTok Accounts;
  • 2152 iGaming-Related Twitter Accounts (for a comprehensive social media overview)

it is 19,562 places (actual on April 2023).

Lets try to count,

average Telegram post is ~$50, average discord post is ~$20, forum is up to $100, media outlet is $250, for rating-reviews site is about $800, instagram is up to $100, facebook is about ~$60, reddit comms is average ~$200, Youtube release is about $1000, twitch stream is about ~$500, ticktock is average $100, and twitter post is about $150...

so if we multiply everything on everything we will get.. $6,234,850.00 per one day.

Here is my calculation to check (and also list of about 200 top websites, discords, forums, media and twitters to check): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BYc7otdNjCEUvBf8KWz72zjXDAEmVqGtSzCWPQCvKik/edit#gid=1996305011

well, not that expensive, after all Smiley

Interesting calculation! It makes me wonder how effective a 6 million dollar marketing campaign can become when talking about return on advertising investment. Although I am not sure on how correct youlr data is or where you got it from. I cannot imagine rating reviews to be worth 800 USD unless the rating person is someone really famous or something. How much of a reach do you expect with all these marketing campaigns?
873  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is copy trading a viable option for newcomers? on: August 25, 2023, 10:38:30 AM
Copy trading has gained immense popularity in the crypto industry since its introduction. Bitget, being one of the pioneers in this field, remains one of the largest platforms for copy trading cryptocurrencies. Many consider it an appealing choice for beginners, but is it truly effective for those who are new to trading?

I believe that copy trading is a bit pointless unless you are 100 percent sure that you want to trust a total stranger not to make losses more than profits. Personally, I would not trust anyone or anything other than myself to do my trading.

The best thing for a newbie to do is to practice with test coins on a testnet. There are even good testnets for derivatives trading, once you get the hang of spot trading.

Personally I prefer deribit testnet . But there are others.
874  Economy / Gambling / Re: My Take on iGaming Promotion Through Social Media on: August 25, 2023, 09:26:49 AM
I think that gambling advertising  on social media is ineffective and very expensive, since gambling is basically prohibited in most social media

From my own personal experience in working in marketing, I would have to respectfully disagree with you. Any talented promoter or social media growth hacker worth his salt would know how to navigate the bans on gambling advertising and create a decent marketing campaign using social media.

This person is en route to becoming the third-biggest BTC address in the world. Shocked It started accumulating in May and has not sold a single satoshi.

Just your above-average whale shark casually swimming in the Bitcoin sea.

https://dailyhodl.com/2023/08/21/mysterious-bitcoin-whale-accumulates-over-3087545354308754535-worth-of-btc-in-less-than-three-months/

Looks like institution investors are just moving their money around. I am not sure of the reason, but something is probably happening behind the scenes. As usual, the small folk will be the last to find out. But whatever happens, do not let volatile price movements spook you into selling your coin. Otherwise you will be playing into their hands, and they will gleefully gobble up your discounted coin.
876  Economy / Economics / Re: Which problem will you choose to solve? on: August 24, 2023, 01:53:22 PM
Solving the problem of one rich person can save thousands of jobs so it depends on who is that rich person and what is their problem.

If you see more replies that say to solve the problems of more poor people then its not a wonder because that is the right thing from an ethical Point of View.

I do not think it is wise to assume that by solving a rich persons problem, that this will automatically transfer to the problem solving of the poor people. In most cases, it will make the rich person richer, while the poor stay poor. The rich have no qualms about exploiting the poor, even when it is  completely unnecessary. All they care about are their own egos and money. Look at Elon Musk. What exactly has he done to further humanity? Only empty promises and ego-stroking on social media.
877  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Cryptocurrency Casino in 2023? Share Your Experience! on: August 24, 2023, 12:44:08 PM
For me, good crypto casinos should be no kyc.

This year a found that Flush Casino is a good one, and the 2nd is LTC Casino.

Also, BitKong is a good choice for those who playing only provably-fair games.

Any no-kyc casino cannot be called "good". In fact such a casino is a huge red flag and probably a scam site. Every casino which is legitimate is regulated and kyc is a huge part of following the mentioned regulations. Of course there are exceptions to this rule but I think that it's better to be safe than sorry

This isn't true since the best casinos are no KYC. They don't scam you using KYC as the excuse. They don't freeze your account for months.

That is not a good argument. Although I am usually against any KYC, in the case of centralised platforms, which are heavily regulated and watched by governments, KYC makes sense. Furthermore, unless you break the terms and conditions, no decent online casino will bother "scamming" you. If you are worried about that, do your KYC before you deposit funds. Although if you are from a banned country, you will obviously not pass it.
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I can’t cope on my own. What do you think I should do? on: August 23, 2023, 09:35:55 PM
I have been into sports betting for a while now and i am not really proud of my earliest experience in gambling, i feel like i am the most unlucky person in the world i lost a lot of games and also i lost a lot of money. I had knowledge about football and basketball games and they were my most picked games and even so I kept losing all my bets and even when i try to play safe i still end up losing and whenever i ask my friends for games we still end up losing the bet then i got tired and in the end i gave up and tried to quit gambling and I left it for some months. During this period my friends made a lot of money gambling and i was envious of them but it didn’t made me change my mind to start gambling over again.

Some months later i came across a telegram channel and i joined, it was a gambling channel that posted free sports bets for its users and there is also a VIP section where users subscribe for some sure games. I am well aware of all these techniques used by scammers so I decided to observe the channel and follow up games posted and I discovered he won most of the games and had about 80% victory rate. Then after some time I decided to try my luck again so I played one of his games and i won i was so happy and it was as though the curse placed on me has been lifted and I tried some more games and i won again and again and since the beginning of the new season i only lost twice and i am now proud of my gambling achievements.

According to the channel free games are limited and we can only enjoy for a month and now the month is almost over and only VIPs will be entitled to games when the month elapses. I have been having doubts whether to join the VIP zone because I don’t want to be scammed that’s why i want to know your opinions.

 What do you all think i should do?

Gambling on telegram is a definite no.

You should trust your first gut feeling or "instincts". If something is too good to be true then it probably isnt. Furthermore you already know that telegram is a cesspool of scammers and shady services. They use psychological methods to lure in their victims. The fact that they not only caught your attention but managed to keep you interested is a big warning sign. Don't ignore it.

I've had the best luck, the fastest withdrawal and deposits from https://www.bitcoincasino.us/ they do require a 3x wager of amount deposit but the cash out immediately. What do any of you think?

Sorry but that casino looks shady to me. If you google their ratings, they have extremely bad ratings. And a lot of people are throwing dirt on the casinos reputation.

Before playing on any online gambling casino, it is always smart to first check what people are saying about it, how it's ratings look like and if there are any scam accusations against that particular casino website.

In any case, I will be staying away. I see lots of red flags...
