Going digital worldwide with payments is inevitable so I know for sure that we are going to reach that phase. So if all countries convert to cryptocurrency then expect ease of transactions but not everyone but only majority of the population. It can't cause a dump because it's coming in with empty hands. You need to have coins first to be able to dump them into the market.
Bakkt won't dump, but the 'buy the rumor sell the news investors' will, which doesn't really seem to be the case right now because it's already calculated in the price already. In other words, news is sold already. What we experience right now is normal price activity, which is just as bearish as it has been for the last couple of weeks. If we dip below $9.6k, I expect another touch $9.3-$9.4k touch which is the horizontal support level of the current formation. I expect a full break any time soon that will bounce up from $8.5 to possibly $9k to continue making lower lows after some sideways consolidation. Bitcoin's chart looks like it wants to make lower lows badly. I was also one the many who hopes that Bakkt will bring the btc price to the new level and I was waiting for a year for this to happen but now I'm just really disappointed. Maybe you are right that the rumoured was already bought at the same time where bitcoin has rose $3k to $12k. And I'm also afraid that the halving news catalyst price pump has already happened this year instead of next year but that's just my speculation because I don't know what else would get us to moon and reach new highs. |

First and the most common is that they will not do their due diligence or do they own research. Because that is also how I hustle when I was new to trading and every altcoin projects reach their moon so I thought to myself that since it can happen to any coin then I will just listen to the most people who shilled the same coins and will buy it. Not gonna lie that it worked but everything now has changed. You need research and please do not put your money on projects that has only beautiful whitepaper.

It is difficult to speak for specific coins, I think the whole altcoin market, namely the top 50-100, is quite acceptable for investments in the medium-term - long-term.
But I much more like participating in IEO on major exchanges such as Huobi, Binance, Okex, Kucoin.
Perhaps just narrow it down to top 20 to lessen the risk you will take. And if ever you are really persistent then just choose the coins on those top 50 that have those products because devs are abusing us and taking our investments for granted where they just continue developing with no products to showcase after a year and even it has, it is just ugly website and beta. I will only agree to IEO if we were back to 2nd quarter because now, it has slowed down and does not make any much more money but it was really, really profitable to those who luckily participated earlier. |

I do this and I know most of traders here do it. How do I know? Because if people will be contented on only small profits then they will go to the banks or stick to their banks and put all their money there sleeping. That is steady profit but very small. If OP is telling that the small profit in swing tradeing is good, I disagree unless I am a whale that even a slight 2% movement would still give me millions of spread after.

That is okay and remember that everything won't be easy. The higher the reward or return then the harder it gets to achieve it except if it's a scam or hyip. Every traders have their highs and lows and most of the time is that most of our trades our losses. There will be some people who excel in this field that always keep the valuable lessons you learn whenever you are failing so that the next you have less mistakes, more success especially in trading.

Invested money can render higher profits only if the investor will accept a higher possibility of losses and there is no investments of today that will guarantee of no risk therefore all types of investments are all prone to risk either crypto or none crypto they are all the same. If you dont like the risk then do not invest plain and simple.
And most of the people who enters crypto don't realize or accept that truth because they only came to get the same roi of the first people who traded and make most of the rewards not knowing by these newbies that those veteran traders also experienced losses first before they made huge gains. Crypto is still very lucrative compared to other investments and newbies should know all the risks involved before they get angry and weep for many years after their losses. |

Technically, there are countries that will potentially put you at risk when they found out you are trading bitcoin or you own them. In my country, some of my bank account is in potential risk because if they found out then they will close of my account and I'm not able to cash-out using their service again. The worst is in other countries that you could be jailed using bitcoins. And another risk is losing all your wealth if only ever you became hopeless of btc's price from its all time high that you bought and sold all of it.

But it is only good for a 6 months or a year because there are instances that the altcoins of our project are not dedicated anymore to continue the development of the project after their good marketing when they are still on the ICO period. I would advised to invest smarter that be patient because the trend crypto can change fast and investors sometime don't accept that fact and just get emotional attached to their token and still thinking it can recover back to $1 from getting dump to 1-2 cents.

I also strongly believe in this. Savings for me is a money that I will be needing when I there is an emergency and I need a good amount of money asap. While investments are when you think about your future and you want your life to be better in the next couple of years. And OP is right that when investment is good when it is done right because most of investors' mistake is putting their hard-earned money in pyramiding scams that promises roi that is too good to be true. |

It depends on how long you spend your time in trading. You don't really have to be active in trading 24/7. I suggest to focus on 1-2 pair of markets per day so that it won't be difficult for you to manage it. To lessen your time in trading, identify in when does the market's volume increases and decreases per day. In this way, you can do other things such as your work and duties. Right, time management and discipline. Trading will only become unhealthy or looks unhealthy for a person is when he's always paranoid that he will miss the spike of a coin or very emotional/greedy when on his trades. Just keep it cool and nobody can catch everything that is happenning and most of the time that will happen to you is when you sold is that when it did pump or when you bought is that when it dumps so it can be hard so always be mentally prepared. |

I do buy bitcoin but not because of BAKKT, i buy because the price of bitcoin is cheap and I buy because i believe on the future of bitcoin. We don’t know if BAKKT will be good for bitcoin so don’t use this as your reason to buy, use a strong reason for you to hold more bitcoin and keep buying. Agree, we will just watch what will happens on the day that Bakkt starts operating and offering their service. And I think the Bakkt effect and hype were only discussed numerous times because of the great depression on the bear period in 2018 where everyone was clinging to any hope that Bakkt would change it. But BTC spiked to $13k without baakt this year so I don't how much it will really impact the price now that btc has already pumped. |

Most of peoples would lazy to read their whitepaper , but for fact some scam project just copied another whitepaper , they just too lazy to make their own. another thing you can check their social media and their admin or moderator. Most of them using fake admin or moderator account
Apparently, even the most legit looking projects are now turning as having an exit scam in the end. It means the real challenge for traders and investors is to profit before we end up as lossers. We might have did great on doing our due diligence before joining the project but we can;t guarantee on how dedicated the team will be on the project's success. They might be very inspired and enthusiastic at the first years but you will feel like they have abandoned it and just selling their own tokens after the lock-up contract period ends. |

I was once a true believer in the HODL thing and have always defend it but now I realize I am just an idiot who got played by the real veterans. The real strategy is to never hold for long because if a coin is going to pump then it will pump. Even if you miss the chance, there are many altcoins out there so there are plenty of chance you can experience that pump you have been waiting for life. I only advised to hold your coins for months and trade it if it don't give you gains because you will get emotionally attached to it and you will never sell.

A lot of the best projects are erc30 based tokens and that is the proof that we will able to seee ethereum on another peak in the future. It's just the market is not favoring us and we are really struggling to still convince people that it's going to be the main currency of the future.

I will base on the projects visibility on communication means and response rate. The best signal to sell for me even if it's a loss is when in there are no updates or posts every month in their social media accounts. And the best one to put the last nail in the coffin is when members asks question then there is no responses for a long time like in telegram.

Many people have lost a lot in 2018.They hope that the market environment will be better in 2019.But I think that if we want the market to recover, we need to wait for two years.
I agree. Pumping really hard for another one will really take time and considering that most of us are hoping that it will top off the last all time high we had so I don't mind for at least 3 years of waiting. The market is improving as we can see it and it always goes back to $4k when it goes down but I hope it gets to $5k or $6k for good. |

I think we will not achieve another all time high this year. But I'm very certain that the market will recover and it will become very healthy. I'm only expecting btc to recover to half of it's highest price and altcoin might too. A lot of big investors that got burned need to recover too and we need them and I think they'll be interested in buying crypto again in 2020 or 2021.
