Thanks for the help!
Got Core synced and started up Armory and am now connected and my balance is showing again!
2  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Can't get the wallet online on: November 07, 2020, 11:40:21 PM
I don't have the 300GB on my SSD.
But somehow my Core is synced and up to date.  I've been running Core since 2014, I've never run into this before.
It still took almost 2 full days to catch up and sync each of the times I've done it over the past couple weeks
So how best to proceed?

Uninstall & reinstall Core and delete the entire AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin folder & do it yet again?
What do I need to do with Armory either before or after I download the whole blockchain again to get it to read or run Core itself so it can go Online?

Thanks

Something is definitely screwy here.  My BitcoinCore is most definitely synced & up to date but there is no 300+ GB of blocks

There are 35 Files & 3 Folders in C:\Users\powpig\AppData\Roaming/Bitcoin/blocks for a total of 1.93 GB

Folders are:
blocks  75.1 MB
chainstate   372 bytes
index  91.3 MB

1st 5 files are:
.lock  0 KB
.walletlock  0 KB
banlist.dat  1 KB
blk02297.dat  130,703 KB
blk02298.dat  129,878 KB

Read box is checked under Permissions

So what now?
How can my Core possibly be synced & up to date if I haven't downloaded the whole blockchain?
Uninstall & reinstall Core and delete the entire AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin folder & do it yet again?
What do I need to do with Armory either before or after I download the whole blockchain again to get it to read or run Core itself so it can go Online?

Thanks for your help

I started up ArmoryDB (while Core was open & synced)
Here's the content of the window that opened:

While I've got Core running, up to date & synced, and I open the ArmoryDB, I can see where it says "Connected to Bitcoin node" and then when I start ArmoryQT a small window sometimes (not always) pops up in the lower right corner telling me I've lost connection.

Also, as I'm running ArmoryDB and have that window open and start up ArmoryQT a few new lines are added but the window closes too quickly for me to see what they say or copy.

According to the Information in the Node Window of Core, the blocksdir is C:\Users\powpig\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\blocks.

Before, as I originally posted, when I set the datadir in Armory to that same C:\Users\powpig\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\blocks, I was able to get Armory to go Online and begin to download a duplicate blockchain.  I just tried that again and it didn't work this time, it just stays offline,

As you say it's failing to read the data in that folder while the datadir in Armory is set to the default C:\Users\powpig\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin, I have no idea if any permission has been given, it previously worked fine, and I have changed nothing.

Thanks for the reply!

OK, I followed your suggestion, got Bitcoin Core fully synced, deleted the contents of the databases folder and started up Armory.

Still offline and nothing happening.

Here's the log files, again in 2 parts:

I had Armory working great but haven't used the laptop in nearly 2 years.

I downloaded the new 0.96.5 Armory & v0.20.0 Core.  The Core is fully synced in the default location as shown in the datadir.  I'm running Win 10.

I cannot get Armory to connect to that datadir.   In the Blockchain and Data Paths in Settings, I have tried both leaving it blank for the default as suggested and adding the C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin location.

I tried using the blocksdir location in the Blockchain and Data Paths and got it to go Online but it began to download a duplicate blockchain and I don't have enough room on my hard drive for an additional 330 GB.

Here's the log files.  Too big for a single so there's 2:

8  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to claim BItcoin diamond and BTG?anyone help? on: February 26, 2018, 07:09:10 AM

Anybody has experience with claiming BTG from core wallet?

I downloaded the newest BTG wallet from the main webpage
https://bitcoingold.org/bitcoin-gold-wallet-v0-15-0-2-release/
and ran it with my Core wallet.dat pasted in the AppData\Roaming BTG folder (Windows)
and it showed up quickly (as soon as the blockchain downloaded) and easily, just like when I claimed my BCash.

Now just waiting for a similar Bitcoin Diamond wallet to be released.

So is this another Bitcoin fork I missed where if I've had Bitcoin since 2013 I can get some Bitcoin Dark?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: December 21, 2017, 07:17:28 PM
I'm running Bitcoin Gold 15.0.1-db7b378 (64-bit) which I downloaded from https://bitcoingold.org/downloads/

I sent a transaction last night, it's been over 12 hours but my wallet still shows the transaction as

"Offline, has not been successfully broadcast yet"

and a search of the address I sent to and the transaction hash on https://btgexp.com both tell me "Search found no results"

Anyone got any suggestions?
