I guess the OP better be anonymous. Else, any sorting whatsoever will get him hate and threats.

That's why instead of everyone trying to push their own favorite alts up we should establish some objective criteria for categorizing coins. From the top of my head:

* age (reason: newcomers have to prove themselves before they can be taken seriously)
* hashrate (reason: measure of community support, albeit questionable. Tricky due to variety of algorithms, PoW/PoS differences etc.)
* trade volume at exchanges (reason: measure of market support)
* market cap  (reason: measure of market support, albeit questionable without significant trade volume)
* transaction volume per day (reason: measure of usefulness, but questionable)

Ideas, anyone?

from a commercial perspective always nice to know how many clients/wallets they have had downloaded, if there is a technical way to track this then great.

Yes would like also to know that

131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin heading to 1000 which alts will survive? on: October 21, 2013, 08:30:28 PM
all clone of bitcoin wont survive. only coin with innovation or unique or science value will rise - like PPC,NVC,Prime now. The speed of cryptocurrency has also a big matter. Prime is 12x faster then BTC, NVC and PPC should be fast when more people will make POS block. Another big factor is hard work of devs + promotion.
Agreed, any clones of bitcoin will suffer the technical issues or failures. Any digital currency with a more unique approach will survive the clones, but how many out there are actually unique and not just a copy/paste of the bitcoin code with the title renamed? I only know of one.

I think the alt even if its a clone which finds the right tools to reach the non-crypto people will succeed.

The gld.cryptocoinmine.com pool will be shut down until the issue of disappearing payments is addressed.
Since upgrading to the 0.7.1 there have been a couple of problems with the pool including payments sent out by the pool but not received by miners.
The pool block matched both explorers so I am unsure of what the issue is.

Everybody will receive the coins they are owed, miners are not at any risk of losing the coins they have mined. I personally guarantee payment, regardless of the outcome.

Thanks for the update dreamwatcher.

Kelsey, that is a big problem with GoldCoin, where people are being extremely cheap, when in fact, they ought to be spreading those GoldCoins around more.

Are you deaf? Can't you read Kelsey?

I have said more than once already, that I charge 1000 GoldCoins for one link at DigitalGoldCoin.com

Well you have avoided a pretty easy and clear question. OK then do I have to word it another way; who requested you put goldcoin links on your webpage?

Changing the topic again.

I think it is important to make sure that the GoldCoin wallet continues to be functioning for current users, but

the new update failed in that regards. My balance is showing 0.00 GLD in the new update wallet/client

Whereas, I still have the old wallet, and my coins are still in the old wallet, but that wallet will not synch.

The fact it would not synch at all, is why I thought I would update.

but for now my goldcoins are frozen in the old wallet, and I cannot use them.

I don't need this crap about how the new update is supposedly 'fixing the 51% problem'....

When in fact, the new update has made my wallet unusable, and is not showing my GoldCoins in it.

Quit changing the topic.

The instructions are clear and Akumaburma told you how to fix this easy problem, but it looks like you are not following the instructions given to you.

Furthermore it was you who started with demanding you needed to be paid 1000GLD for every link which you put your self on your site thats why everybody is amazed why the community should pay you.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of all cryptocoins on: October 20, 2013, 05:34:30 PM
Dont understand why you put Goldcoin GLD in THE PURGATORY when this coin is outperforming most alts. It has a very active dev team, a big and growing dedicated community. It should at least be in CANDIDATES list. I think its time to update your list.
