241  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The 'm' List on: May 28, 2013, 10:06:37 PM
My site uses it by choice so advertisers can make a ridiculous low offer for ad space on my site. It really just depends on how large of an amount we are using at the time. Whole Bitcoin transactions obviously wouldn't  warrant their use. Interesting topic.

Good luck with your project, and make it appealing to your users!

I think it's weird that it has not been mentioned in The Big Bang Theory yet.
I totally agree!  Smiley

249  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 10 BTC Bounty to Convince me not to Invest $20,000 in P2P Bank/Exchange Idea on: May 28, 2013, 04:24:51 AM
You are already having second thoughts. Go with your gut. Invest half on Mt. Gox and keep the other half for old age. Please.

No second thoughts.  Just attempting to motivate people to challenge the idea and find any weak spots.  Without the bounty some might dismiss it without investing any time looking for 'bugs' in my idea.

At this point I am considering doubling the bounty as my confidence is growing and no-one has been able to provide any argument why it will not work that I do not have a clear and (in my opinion) well reasoned answer for.

Good luck in your endeavors!

The continued usage of the phrase "crypto-currency" does nothing to engender bitcoin with non tech savvy people.  It makes it seem unnecessarily complex and the average internet user tunes out at that point.  Also the repeated claim that bitcoin is not money is ridiculous, anything people will exchange for goods or services is money.
I just thought it was cool that it was on Yahoo which garners more mainstream exposure and I guess the author could mean it is technically not money in the eyes of the government like fiat.

This is the kind of stuff we need to spread the word about Bitcoin! Mainstream coverage will send those prices up, up, up! Send to everyone!

Overall, looks like you're off to a good start, and the free games could be a lot of fun (I didn't have time to play them - is there a BTC component to them at all? If not, you may want to consider that in the future - it'd drive your traffic WAY up, although I'm guessing you'd need sponsors for it).

I do have one small piece of constructive criticism, although I'm by no means an expert on community sites.  It's the coin url stuff.... like I said, I'm no expert but I can say that I personally get very annoyed by those monetized links and tend to just make note of whatever site's being advertised rather than click on them.  So I'm not sure how much you'll get from them... I'm curious as to what other people think.  It's not that I feel people are trying to screw the site owner over, it's just annoying as heck to click on the link, wait for the ad to load (if it does at all), etc.  So, seriously, maybe ask other site owners what their opinion of coin url is and whether it actually helps or hinders traffic.

That's it... great effort, and I'll be back to check it out again sometime!
Thank you for the review. I have to say, that is the best feedback I've gotten on here so far. I will definitely check into other revenue generation besides coinurl, especially the bitcoin integration into the games. A friend has designed the games, and I had the idea of making the high score screen payout Bitcoin for the top score. We are still trying to figure out how to link the api to the game code. Any suggestions would be very helpful. The online Bitcoin arcade is a top goal for this site. Thanks again!
